After countless hours of playing and blood shot eyes i actually ran out of things to do. With the addon pack its a nice refresher to the epic game.

Anne Perry continues in her inimitable style to bring us yet another murder within the aristocracy of Victorian England. Besides the typical who-done-it murder mystery, Anne throws us into the messy mix of a stratified society of the poor, the working class and the upper crust. The oh so common mess a murder or two brings to the otherwise proper and sedate lives of Her Majesty’s elite results in a tense clash of societal differences.

  3. GSmith

    Another great Anne Perry book.

  4. Leeanne

Generally I don’t care much for Anne Perry’s books, but this one was better than most. Spends a lot of the book discussing problems of poor people in London.

If you didn’t pick up the GOY edition FO3 but have the original and want to reenter the wasteland, you MUST pick this up. I got about 15 hours of playtime with Point Lookout (lever-action rifle makes use of 10mm ammo) and already have 2 hours in Broken Steel.

I enjoyed reading this mystery novel. It’s a quick read, there were graves robbed, and ultimately a murder. I appreciate the relationship between Thomas and his wife Charlotte; they’re a highly intelligent couple and supportive of one another’s lives. Now, of course I want to read the next book in the series.

  7. T. W. Sublette

The add on was a fun and welcome addition to the Fallout 3 game, it breaks a little from the “norm” of the game and was a fun addition that helped break up a rather long game (I played the point lookout in the middle of fallout 3. Overall I would rate it a solid 5 out of 5.

  8. Millie

Trying to complete by collection of Anne Perry. This item is in excellent condition with no wear on spine or marks in the pages. Looking forward to another good mystery.

This is an interesting novel that reveals all of the horrors of poverty in England in the 1880s. The reader is introduced to roadhouses and other unfortunate circumstances in which the majority of the people of London must survive. The story is quite innovative dealing with several dead bodies that seem to pop up in unexpected places. These are not newly dead bodies but have come from graves that were robbed. As usual there is a wicked person who is the murderer and is revealed in the end, but also as often happens in Anne Perry novels, some of the crimes are not punished. There is more development of some of the standard characters such as Pitt, Charlotte, and Aunt Vespasia. There is good action, good plot, and this is a very interesting read.

I feel silly writing a review for all of the books in this series but I LOVED it so I have to recommend it. I’d recommend that you read them in order because they do tell a better story that way (following the characters through the books). They can definitely be read on their own but if you enjoy a series and the character development throughout one, these are for you.
