I don’t play the console games; I got the game for my son. He says the game works as expected and he is satisfied with it. It’s just the manual that came with the game has an odor like mildew.

I bought this game purely for the Mike Tyson aspect and the improved online community. The game play is pretty straightforward, but the training and career modes I found a little disappointing. One of the biggest positives to the game is the downloadable boxers so that you can keep the game up to date and the EA Face transfer that allows for a photo realistic face to be imprinted on the boxer. Really makes you feel like you are more a part of the game. Would recommend to someone looking for a fun boxing game that they can grow with. Have not played the new version

Not sure why there have been so many low ratings for this game. I think the new method for punching is awesome, much better than mindlessly mashing buttons. And people complaining about EA making the game harder by making you actually have to get up after getting knocked out is just silly. You need to have skills go get from a knockdown, it doesn’t just happen. Overall, this game is fun to play, but you do have to put some time into it. Stop all the hating.

This game is an awesome addition to the series. I’ve played all the games and this one is the best by far. Superior graphics and physics make it a real experience.

I haven’t really played the other Fight Night games so don’t know what to base this off of, but renting it yesterday, I’ve played it almost a day straight. It’s just a lot of fun, it’s addictive. I get angry when I lose, and very excited when I win. Perfect feeling for the game, like watching an actual boxing match. Rent this first to see if it’s your cup of tea, but I’ll probably end up buying this.

I recently picked up a copy of Fight Night Round 4 for my XBox 360. This is actually my first foray into the Fight Night franchise. I had not played previous versions of this game.Let me break down my review into the ‘good’ and the ‘bad’ of the game from my perspective:THE GOOD- The graphics are PHENOMINAL. The effects, especially the replay camera and the slow-mo are very well done.- The HUD is very good. I like the way that the fighter is broken down into the stamina, health and block histograms. It gives the player a good sense of his fighter’s status.- The gameplay is pretty decent. I do find the training to be a little bland; but you can simulate it if you like.- The comentary is very well done as well. Good overall sounds effects give excellent realism to the game.THE BAD- The control stick to use for all your punches looks good in theory but it does not translate well into practice. The major issue is that the control stick on a standard controller is just too small to be able to manipulate effectively. You will find yourself throwing hooks instead of uppercuts all the time. I did read that EA sports is going to roll out a patch that implements button usage more effectively so that should help quite a bit. The control is a not a deal breaker but it can get somewhat annoying. I think ultimately, the idea was probably not a bad one but it translate better into controllers with larger joysticks that have a broader range of motion.- The boxing roster is somewhat lacking. F.

Not a big fan of the RB modifier for power punches. The block button being RT kind of makes you wrench the controller as you switch between covering your head and winding up to thump your opponent. Otherwise, its very good.It does not, however… In my humble opinion, strike the same balance of skill/buttonmashingpanic that makes the previous iteration of this game so sublime.Fight night Round 3 was something special. Like super tecmo bowl on NES. you know Madden 25 makes tecmo look like Pong, but tecmo bowl had you inviting not just friends, but acquaintances over to your apartment for the big tournament. It’s a rare game that finds that sweet spot. Road Rash II on PS1 or sega, Street Fighter 3, Echo the Dolphin, Pitfall, Space Invaders….. Tough acts to follow. Unfortunately, FN 4 does not have the same purity and gratifying response as it’s predecessor, but it IS a fun game to play. You still get nervous when you’re coming out of your corner in round one, and Iron Mike Tyson is in the ring with you. Like swimming in the tank with the sharks. If you can get it for under $25, buy it.

I’m not a big fan of boxing/sports, but I do like boxing games. Also, I’m no stranger to the Fight Night series. I was skeptical about getting FNR4 at first, due to some of the problems people are having with it (high learning curve, hard mini-games). However, once I got to play the game, I was hooked!EA might have thrown out the face button control system when Round 4 was launched, but I can handle to Total Punch Control system (using the right stick to throw punches). And the line-up of boxers is excellent, especially when it has Mike Tyson in it (which is a big reason I bought this game)! I wasn’t so fond of the mini-games, however. They just seem a bit too difficult to master.Round 4 might not be for everyone, but I’m glad I am one of those who enjoy it!
