My personal opinion: From someone who started with Final Fantasy 7 and even played the Dissidia Series in a PSP I am very happy with this game, I am giving my opinion on someone who played the game and didn’t researched at the background of the development after I finished the game. Yes, I know that I waited 1 year and the royal edition was a gift to those who waited so it is just how you see it. I love the grapchics, storyline, semi open world concept (since I am not a big fan of Open world concept) and the characters develop a deep bond (except Lunafreya because she was just there and we don’t really see much of her and her demeanor). Overalls Noctis is one of my favorite characters of the Franchise now.

    Great

This is such a good game. The storyline is great, the character development is excellent, the gameplay is fun, and the list goes on!

The price has dropped since I bought it but with all the content you get for the $, it’s worth the buy. The combat is fun, which is good because that is basically what every side quest is (go here and kill that). It kept me entertained for about 100 hours of gameplay.

The wait was long for the release of Final Fantasy XV, wether it reached the expectations of people it’s still up for debate. The graphics are gorgeous, the settings and the characters look great, and the Royal Edition includes every DLC released, to a certain point, more were planned but were cancelled, leaving one important story DLC out of this compilation. The open world is big enough, sadly a lot of driving, running and waiting, with not much of importance between towns or dungeons, except loot here and then, and the characters feel flat and uncharacterized for a big chunk of the first half of the game, and fight gameplay it’s quite repetitive at first too, although that’s not much different as every other game on the series. The second is much better, yet it feels a drag to get there.

  9. Patrick

    Great fun game.

I’ve been an avid player of the final fantasy series since the original Final Fantasy in NES. I’ve played every major release.Final Fantasy XV was a real departure from other games in the franchise. The game went in a different direction and it was, in my opinion, the most impactful game in the series since VI.XV takes a much darker and more mature tone than most of it’s precursors. It has deep political overtones similar to those in Final Fantasy 12. Something I like about this game is that it is never condescending of it’s players. It doesn’t treat you like a child. There is no blood or sex, but the plot is deep, complex, and intertwined. It’s not extremely hard to follow, but if you pay attention and ask questions the game will reward you with more three dimensional characters and better motivated villains than you may have expected in the past.Royal Edition includes a bunch of additional content on top of the original game. These packages do a lot to help flesh out the main characters and add some depth to the world. This is addition to the series is a love note to players who have been around a little longer. A kind of thanks for helping take the franchise from obscurity to the defining title of it’s genre.I recommend it without reservation for anyone who wants more depth to a game than “smack down the bad guy”.
