If you like Final Fantasy, this game is your reason to buy a PSP! This game is a well-polished port of FFT for the original playstation. Some will say the graphics on the PSP version look better and I agree with them. Others may complain about the occasional wait time when doing something “cool” like casting a spell or putting the smackdown on a monster but I disagree with them. While there may be a second or two of wait while things load here and there… it doesn’t detract from the game itself. While Nintendo’s DS games show that simple can be fun, Sony’s games such as this show that amazing graphics, great sound and a good storyline are even more fun. If you’re into RPGs, buy this! You won’t be dissapointed.

Have only played it a couple of times, but FFTactics for the PSP is fun as heck. There’s better graphics, better dialogue, and voice-acting and better animations. Great game.

I basically got this game because I tried to play the PS1 original twice before and could never get past the first few battles. I figured if I got this version, it’d settle once and for all the greatness of this game. And once again, I was right. They took all the great things about the original and added to it. Better camera control, improved translation and controls, new jobs and characters to use (including Balthier from FFXII and Luso from FF Tactics A2.) If you liked the original and want to get taken back, try this game out. It’ll give you what you enjoyed the first time around and more.

For those that have never played a Final Fantasy game before, this game is truly in a class of its own. Personally, I’ve finished Final Fantasy 1-8, played but didn’t finish 9, 10, and 12, and was extremely disappointed with the latest two. I originally played Final Fantasy Tactics on PS One back when I was in middle school and last year, I bought the game again for the memories. I didn’t really do research before hand because I knew part of what I was getting myself into, but the minor updates to the game really blew me away.First off, for those that have played the PS One version, they’ve added cut scenes into the game with cel-shading that just enhances the storyline overall. After the first encounter, the first cut scene reveals some character development between Ramza and Delita which helps to understand their personalities and differences. The ensuing storyline helps the player to empathize with both characters and their decisions later on in the game. For the game play, characters can specialize in specific classes and learn certain skills from those classes via a job point system. As characters act and do things during battle, they earn job points which the player can spend for the character learn specific skills pertaining to their class. For example, if I had a white mage, when I switch jobs to lets say a Dragoon, I will be able to assign “white magic” as an augment to my Dragoon class if I had learned the proper skills as a white mage. Additionally, your cha.

Fantastic game, definitely worth playing if you love the turn based strategy type games. Played it before on my friends psp and instantly got hooked, lost mine but gladly found it again on retrolio. Also it arrived sooner then expected which was nice.

This is one of my favorite games of all time. The re-translation of the script is phenomenal and the added short cut-scenes are a nice touch. I haven’t gotten far in this particular version of the game, but I hear there may be some lag on the summons/spells later on. Time will tell.
