This game is so much better on the Xbox 360. I like the fact that i can chat with people rather than type to people. Also the graphics are much improved compared to the ps2 version, but that also depends on what television you use. The ps2 looks fantastic on a 4:3 (square tv) ratio television vs the xbox 360, wich makes full use of a widescreen (16:9 or similar) tv. I have tried to get my ps2 to use all the screen but i still ended up with black bars on the left and the right sides of my widescreen tv.Over all the game play is the same on both versions. I am very sastified with this product, just wished they released an upgraded version, like this one, for the ps3.

This game has been around for years. People always say that if you’re starting late in an MMO then it’s not going to be any fun for you. I will admit that sometimes can be true. However FFXI brings a new aspect to that. Since one character can switch jobs with a simple visit to their house, it’s very easy to find someone who is at your level to party with. And in a game that focuses on interaction and partying after level 15 or so, that’s kind of a big deal. Square-Enix is still adding things to this game. They’ve just recently raised the level cap to level 99 and are always implementing new events and mechanics to make the game more accessible to others. If you’ve played before, you probably remember the grueling grind from the very beginning of leveling up. How it took hours just to hit the minimum level for partying. Now you can hit that level in no time. Now is a perfect time to come back.If you’re looking to play on the Xbox360 but don’t want to shell out $120.00+ for the whole game there’s a quick and easy way around that: Just buy used discs and then purchase an Abyssea collection right here off of retrolio. You don’t even need to download the game. All you need is the registration code. Now you’re all set. I always have a great deal of fun with this game. Like any MMO it can be time consuming so you should consider that before purchasing. The large world, story line and amount of things to be completed can seem daunting at times, but there is always someone around who.

I know this game can’t compete with the WOW or GW crowd so i’m not even going to try. FFXI has no real PVP and it forces you to make friends! Say it ain’t so! Yes ladies you might actually have to be nice to other people if you want to play this game and yes it’s kinda hard to brag about how good you are in a game that is slow-moving and isn’t great on the customizablilty. And yes the previous statements were sarcastic. For the most part everyone is on the same side and working towards a common goal. It’s a beautiful game though. The interface is a little old fashion, but I didn’t mind that. This game actually makes you think about strategy, but isn’t so hard that the more attention-deficient players lose interest after one wipe.Another plus, your character can actually be any class (I think there’s like 15 of them) it wants to be and there’s a wide array of skills and tactics at your disposal that makes every party to enter into relatively unique.Another aspect I found really enjoyable, but sometimes a hinderance is the fact that you can play with other players that don’t speak English! How is this a good thing?! Well, there’s this thing called a planet and on this planet there’s these things called human beings and to make a longer story short the foreign players tend to be pretty freaking good and it’s fun to play with them even if you can understand a word they’re saying. All in all, I subtracted a star because the game’s a little dated and sort of discriminates aga.

Overall, it’s a great game, but it something to get used to at first. Setup is is easy as long as you read and go by the directions. But if I was you, don’t stop the loading till it finishes, or else it won’t let you play the game or download it. That would definitely be a waste. Otherwise, Read the instructions and you should be okay with it.

This is a great MMO and having it on your XBOX was great, but I think it would be better on the computer for mouse support.

I love the quality of the product might take some time to get use to but all in all good.

My absolute favorite MMO. I spent so many hours on here, when it first came out it was for the hardcore, now it has been made way more accessible and it has kind of lost it’s luster. Still a journey to be had!
