I love this game. It has action, adventure, romance, sex and violence. When docked the graphics look great. (In handheld mode, not so much.) It does has a glitch were it will get an error message and closes the game. So save often. The only thing that gets annoying is the loading screen. I could do my taxes while it loads. Overall it’s a great game. If you are new to the game (like me) do a Google search for the backstory.

I purchased this for $49. That is lower than even some 2-year old Nintendo Switch games, with hardly the amount of gameplay hours (150 hours). It comes with the following: A collector’s box, a ‘care package’ (consisting of a welcome note from CD Project Red, two Witcher stickers, a well-written 16 page manual detailing some of the game’s lore, and a large game world map), and, I think most importantly, a game case with an actual GAME CARTRIDGE inside!Recently I have observed a troubling trend perpetrated by certain game developers wherein a game box would be made available for purchase with the disappointing surprise of NO CARTRIDGE inside the box, replaced with a ‘download code’. Talk about cutting corners. Most recent case to mind is Overwatch for the Nintendo Switch. A $40 dollar plastic case with a piece of paper inside. They didn’t even bother producing a game cartridge. Tsk, tsk, What an utter shame for what used to be an excellent games company. Blizzard has been in hot water controversies lately, and they need to boost their coffers by porting their games to new platforms, while keeping costs to its lowest possible minimum? Anyways, I’m diverging from the point I’m trying to make. The reason I brought up Overwatch for the switch is to make a night and day comparison of how a game release SHOULD be done. Never mind all the goodies I mentioned that comes with every copy of Witcher 3 for the Switch. The game also comes with ALL DLC ever released. Think about that for a mo.

I first received this game as a gift for pc, and couldn’t get into it. With several people continuing to tell me how good it was, I decided to pick it up on the Switch which was a much more laid back format for me to play on. I finished the main story. Great game. However it’s a far from perfect port and game. The physical version crashed often (couple dozen times during play through), so I’d have to save frequently. Annoying, and bad. The controls are clunky, controlling Geralt takes some practice. Beware the multiple endings, if you drop 100+ hrs like I did, you deserve a good ending. I didn’t get one, and will play the expansions when I’m over it. I didn’t want to play Gwent. The main quest eventually forced my hand with a failed collect em all quest I intended to complete at some point. So I played Gwent, once I understood how to play it became an obsession. Great in game, game… but with Witcher 3 several quest completions can result in failing others… I was regularly looking over my shoulder for this. Don’t like that.Ultimately the game is worth the trouble. The physical copy came with some goodies in box, and I really like that. The world of the Witcher 3 is worth your time.

To be clear I own this game on PC and PS4 respectively, so I have a pretty good idea of how it runs on other systems besides the Switch. I purchased the Switch port as a Christmas gift to my girlfriend who’s having an absolute blast with it!The biggest question I had (and that most people have) is how does this gorgeous, demanding game run on the Switch? I’m happy to report that it runs very smoothly overall with very few instances of frame rate dips. That being said, don’t expect this version to look as nice as it does on more powerful consoles. The graphics are downscaled to run on the switch hardware. If you want the best looking version of Wild Hunt, and you have a different console or a halfway decent gaming PC, I’d recommend getting one of those instead. However, if you’re not a stickler for graphics and you want the on-the-go experience that the switch offers, you can’t go wrong with this port! The Witcher 3 is the best game of the last decade in my opinion and if you haven’t played it yet, now is a great time to do so! All DLC is included on the switch port, so you’ll be sure to have hours upon hours of badass witchery goodness for months to come!

I’m not quite sure how they managed to fit all the material in the game of the year edition onto a switch and have it run as well as it does. The Witcher 3 is a great game for those of you who have not played it. There is enough variety to keep interested, a good story and characters to keep you entertained, and diverse enough gameplay to keep you challenged. Even years later it holds up.The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is that while I wish I could say it ran perfectly on the switch it does not. It runs well and I love being able to be able to play the Witcher 3 on the go, but that being said it has a technical hiccups here and there. Bad frame rate, slow loading times, and low graphical quality are among my common complaints. There is nothing gamebreaking but it is noticeable from time to time. That being said I still highly would recommend his game to anyone

Fantastic game, story and music. The physical edition itself comes with all sorts of stuff on the inside (extremely rare nowadays). There are tons of options to change the graphical fidelity and slightly increase performance. For those who don’t know this is an open world game with, easily, 100+ hours of gameplay. You play as the witcher Geralt on a search for his “child of destiny “. Side quests and main quests galore. You can also take on witcher contacts (hunting down strong and unique monsters), which don’t always resolve by killing. A lot of different armor sets to track down, craft and collect. There’s a full card game within the game itself called Gwent. You can form relationships within the game and dialogue choices do matter. As a huge fan of open world RPG’s this is the gold standard.

Everything is fine, arrived in the scheduled date, even tho I live in Taiwan there was no delays. Now talking about the game, it is amazing that you can have such an amazing game in a portable console, ofcourse the graphics had to be sacrificed but its still worth it, I have only played it on the portable version, but I heard that when you pass it to the television the pixels are more “agressive” since the game is rendered in 480p, which is not a problem on the portable version since the screen is small. It comes with a map, a little booklet with information on the main characters, Geralt and others, also about the lore etc, 2 stickers of the Wolf’s witcher school and ofcourse the game.

CD Projekt Red has absolutely blown me away. The physical game not only comes with the ENTIRE game on it, but also TONS of cool swag. I didn’t have to download a single kilobyte of data, I could just put the cartridge in and play. They also included a note thanking the customer, some stickers, a full map and a compendium. As a customer, I truly feel appreciated by this company, and I love them all the more for it.

I love this game. I’ve been playing all the time since Christmas… a little buggy but nothing a save and reload couldn’t fix. When you’ve been playing video games for over 30 yrs you can look beyond a smudge or too. Otherwise run smoothly in combat though I have been playing tabletop with pro controller and over all loving it.
