I would not get this game if you are intending to play it on your tv. Handled mode though, it is great. The graphics are good enough in handheld mode you get by. Just don’t expect the game to be up to like the PS4 or Xbox one graphics. The game on a big tv just doesn’t look great at all.The gameplay did make it into the port though, so did the story. It is crazy how much dialogue and story is packed into the cartridge. It even has the expansions on the cart.So bottom line if you want to play it on the go great, otherwise there are cheaper and better versions for the big screen.

If you know anything about the witcher then it is the fact that it is an absolutely beautiful game. You also may know that the switch is by far the least powerful console of this generation. That being said cdpr and saber interactive have managed to port one of the best rpgs of all time to this underpowered console. How have they done this, you might ask? Well, through lowering texture derail, running at a lower resolution and essentially squishing the game down to fit on a 32 GB game cartridge they have managed to get it to work. So do these downgrades take away from the experience? I don’t think so. Even though it doesn’t look as good as it did other consoles, you have to remember just how amazing it really was, I would say that this port looks comparable to the other AAA titles that came out the same year as the witcher, it just still looks good. The only real downside of this port is the frame rate does dip below 30fps from time to time, but I don’t really think it takes away from the joy of playing this game on the go. So who is this game for? I’d say it is for anyone who played the game on a different console who just want a reason to play it again or for people that have never played it but only have a switch. However, if you have never played it and do have a different console, play it there first so you get the full graphical experience and if you really love it, buy the switch version!I love this game and am so glad that they ported it to the switch, it is a fantast.

It definitely makes the top 10 Switch games to own. The production quality and story are definitely there and it plays well. Being that I never played the game on PC, the graphics look excellent to me. I have not tested out the surrounds sound but using Bluetooth headphones, the game sounds top notch. I only regret not having too much time to play but that’s where the Switch version truly beats out the other ones. Got 5-10 spare minutes no problem, just pop out the switch and you’re good to go. So I just mainly play it for a few minutes before I go to sleep and after waking up. The physical version comes with some nice bonuses: a letter from the developers, some stickers, and a map. Unfortunately, when it comes to spoken languages, you get English, French, Portuguese (Brazil), and no Spanish. The subtitles fare better featuring even Chinese, Arabic, Turk, and Hungarian. Pretty much almost everyone will be able to read the game’s subtitles in their native tongue. Hopefully down the line, we will be able to download other languages given there is an option to do so in the game’s language menu but as of right now it is currently inactive. Overall, if you own the Switch and never played the Witcher, this is a must buy game on Switch. If you played the Witcher before and don’t mind the looks then this an excellent way to experience the game anew.

So far I have purchased Witcher 3 six times. Half were gifts for friends. Still got my moneys worth. It is a steller fantasy game with a vast world with a wonderful story with amazing characters. You play as Geralt who is one of the least interesting characters in the game. In all honesty it is the side characters that really pulled me in. The Crookback Bog section with the Baron and Jonny are some highlights. Gameplay is more bland. Dodge, slash, magic, eat, and repeat. Block can be added with humans but is useless against monters. Its not bad but lacking compared to BotW in terms of gameplay. This is when I would talk about graphics and sound. The Witcher 3 is one of the best looking games when modding on PC today. The xb1x looks great, the PS4 looks good but suffers from fps drops like the og xbone. Then theres Switch. The Switch features dynamic resolution of 720 docked, but dips well below. On PC you can’t even replicate it. The textures are muddy, the vegetation are poor, load times are long, and pop in is glaring, but this is all understandable seeing how this system only uses 18 watts. Less than a TV. But for me its the fps drops that bother me. The Switch is brought to its knees here. For those of us on PC we could tell you this game is less reliant on ram or vram and more on raw CPU and GPU performance. The Switch just can not stream data fast enough and the cpu is getting hammered in sections. There is little chance CDPR can get anymore blood from this stone with a.

There are a lot of great aspects to this game well covered by other reviewers. I wanted to talk about another aspect I feel is quite important. Many of the games I find myself playing are set in a specific pattern. Point of origin. Clearly defined goals. Move forward. Pretty basic but you know where you have to go and how to accomplish a task. The reward and the challenge is based on timing and precision. This game is so much different because it’s a vast open world embracing choice. You have so much decision making to work through while you play the game. It’s so refreshing to be left to your own devices and play a game the way you want to play it.Having never played the Witcher on any other Console I can’t tell you about any compromise to the quality of graphics. I can only tell you it looks beautiful on the switch.I love being able to play for ten minutes, half an hour. Whatever. And then it auto saves so I can walk away to come back to it later. Definitely the kind of game you can continue to come back to.

This was for my son. This is his review:This is one of the best games I ever played. I would give every element of this game five stars. The combat is difficult to master but enjoyable. The storyline is interesting and complex. The witcher contracts are challenging. The graphics for the switch are downgraded from the PS4 version, but they still look great. The world is massive and fun to explore.

I was wary about buying this game because I’ve seen some pretty bad ports to the Switch. I wasn’t sure the game would run very well, even with graphical cutbacks. Now that I have the game and have started to play it I can say that it’s not the pritiest version if the game but its very impressive what they have pulled off with this port. It’s still The Witcher 3 in all its glory! It can be a little blury and pixleated at times, but it runs smoothly and is not only very playable but still just as enjoyable as ever. For me it came down to how the game runs on the Switch. I came in with low expectations and I was very pleased with how the game runs. It’s The Witcher 3 you can take anywhere with you.

Obviously this game is amazing – if you’re considering it, it absolutely blew me away even though my expectations were rather high. I would say the visuals are a little finicky, but it’s more endearing than any kind of problem with gameplay, or the overall experience.I have hearing problems, so I always have subtitles on, and they’re a good size on a tv or on the switch itself, so I’m not quite sure what that other review had a trouble with, though I do have to wear my glasses to play if it’s on a tv, so hey, maybe I’m just being contradictory. When it comes to the general quality of the port – it’s absolutely astounding, especially considering I didn’t have to buy another console. Sometimes loading screens are a bit longer than I think the developer intended, or sometimes certain models have to clip a little bit, but it definitely runs better than skyrim on the switch, so absolutely worth the buy in my humble opinion, if that’s your concern.I’ve really enjoyed the game so far, I’m super excited to play the DLC, and this ultimate edition comes with a map and TWO stickers! Even my longboard felt included in my witcher hype. It’s sick, you just have to experience it, and this is a really good way to buy it.

I’ve never played any of the Witcher games, or played Witcher 3 on PC or other major consoles. I purchased this with the expectation that it’d be a good game for Switch while I was traveling. It’s turned into a daily dose of awesome. I’ve looked at comparisons and while, yes, the graphics are scaled down, it is an absolutely amazing game. The fact I can play this on a hand-held is mind-blowing and it is 100% worth every penny spent. Toss a coin to your shop, buy Switcher 3!

I bought this version of the game when it launched because of the physical goodies like the stickers and map that came with the game for the same price as the digital version. I personally prefer physical versions of games so my friends and I can easily share games between systems. If I’m ever strapped for cash I can also sell the game for most of it’s asking price. There are some graphical downgrades to this version of the Witcher III, but it is a small price to pay imo for the added portability of the game. I’ve played about 60 hours of the game so far and it honestly seems to use less battery power than BOTW, so don’t be afraid of the game draining your battery too quickly.I also haven’t run into any switch version exclusive bugs, so that’s a plus.Final verdict: if you want to play the Witcher on the go, please get this version, you won’t regret it. If you mostly game at home on a big screen, you are better off playing on your PC for the graphical improvements and smoother framerate.
