One year after the events of Final Fantasy XII, Vaan and his partner and friend Penelo meet with Balthier and his partner Fran to seek a lost treasure. This treasure though, ends up starting a new adventure to a lost continent in the sky. Not only that, but this continent is in danger of being destroyed by somebody called the Judge of Wings. The story it self promises new friend’s, old ones, epic summons and equally epic battles. Now, if you were a fan of FFXII and it’s combat system, prepare for a totally different monster. The action/Gambit/MMORPG based combat system is COMPLETELY replaced with a strategic RPG gameplay. Through some strange tre3asure hunting events, Vaan and the others get a hold of the power to summon espers at will. With this power, the go on to stop wayward sky pirates, bad espers, and eventually the Judge of Wings. The game TRIES to incorporate strategic element by making a very pronounced rock-scissors-paper formula with melee-range-flying (respectively). Truth is, for the first half of the game you can just rush an enemy with overwhelming numbers. Later on though, you might actaully need to use some strategy to assist you. All the Hero character’s you use can control a certain number of monsters and can eventually have a wide variety of buff, nerf, and powerful attacks. A true strategen will find plenty of ways to assault a mob of enemies, but mostly, you can just buff yourself a little and charge the group. I personal found that the black mage charac.

I’m a fan of the Final Fantasy series and when I had heard that it was coming out for the DS, I was very excited. However, I was a bit dismayed at the price of $40.00 for a DS game. I’m actually glad I didn’t buy this game for the full price (bought it for $29.99).Unlike other FF games, this is a real time strategy meaning that you have to create your own troops and give them actions (similar to games like Starcraft and Warcraft). It’s much more complicated than the regular turn based strategy FF games usually have in store for gamers. Like all other Final Fantasy games, the production values are gorgeous – cutscenes, music, etc. However, the actual gameplay graphics are cartoonish and seem very pixelated. I wasn’t impressed in that department. The story like all other FF stories is pretty good.I’ve never played FF12 (but do plan to do so in the future) and I found myself enjoying the game nonetheless. In the beginning, I was a bit turned off by the gameplay but once I got the hang of it, it was pretty easy. The difficulty varies – some missions are almost impossible, while some are too easy. Leveling up helps to some extent, but not as much since the enemies’ levels increase as your groups’ levels increase. The storyline progresses quickly, but you have a bunch of sidequests (that unlock espers and other items) that prolong gameplay.I think this game is worth getting if you’re a final fantasy fan, I still the think the price is way too high for it to be worth buying (unless.

This is a great game if you can get past all the touch controls on the tiny screen. Managing units is more cumbersome than it should be. If you liked FFXII and can stand rts type games I would give it a shot. Got my copy brand new and sealed from retrolio for $12.

first off id like to start off by saying this game is really worth buying, great story, characters, and cut scenes. Great strategy game, full of side quests and main missions and battle mode is like wow! FANTASTIC! no taking turns, attack when you want, from where you want. summon monsters and command them to aid you during your missions. overall i would rate this game 5/5 but i gave it 4 out of 5 because i think it still had something missing. but im still not sure what exactly.I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME TO ALL FANS! worth every cent! if u want to know more, contact me at and or Final Fantasy RULEZ!

I originally bought this game to be able to complete my conquest of all games Final Fantasy. I had heard some bad things about it, but decided to give it a shot. I was first (pleasantly) surprised that it was a tactics-style game, but even more surprised when I realized that it was actually more of a real-time strategy RPG, with game play more like Starcraft than Final Fantasy Tactics. Although the combat system is fairly simplistic (your main characters have summoned units to help fight, and it’s a rock-paper-scissors type of combat: flying, melee, and ranged units), it is actually quite enjoyable, and a GREAT way to kill time (a huge plus for a DS game). The graphics are on the upper-edge for the DS (especially the cut-scenes), and while the story seems a little more geared to a younger audience, it is still good for the older gamers. I haven’t finished the game yet, but from what I’ve seen so far the story is well put together, and there is enough going on to keep you busy, including extra side-quests given like the “hunts” in Final Fantasy XII. If you’re a Final Fantasy fan, it’s a must have; if not, it is still a good game, but you may want to try it out first to see if it is something you’ll enjoy.
