Flat Out is fast racing with more danger than you’d face on typical tracks. Race your car around a track where every bit of damage stays on the track. I do not understand why anyone would really dislike this game, maybe not there favorite, but theres nothin bad about this game. Great attention to detail when it comes to crashes and getting dinged up by other cars. All the game modes are fun(race,derby,stunt)Online play is really fun too, especially if you have a mic.Only bad part is some tracks are the same tracks, just in opposite directions and the cars slide around too much as if you have absoluty no tred.Best racing game I’ve ever played though. The need for speeds are fun, but generally have little or no damage and the tracks all look a little too similiar. They also don’t offer as many jumps and the crashes are not nearly as spectacular. You’ll be wanting to see some of your best crashes over again in slow motion in Flatout 2. I can’t wait for the 360 version!

This is a classic! The racing is fun and begs to be replayed in the early levels. But as you progress, the AI gets almost insanely difficult. The cars take unrealistic amounts of damage, but every dent & sheared quarter panel is smoothly reproduced. Then there are the mini-games! Great entertainment with or without a few beers!I owned it for many years and often entertained guests with Flat Out 2’s mini games. Those and the demolition derby’s eventually become more fun than nail biting racing at the high levels. I decided to do some retro gaming, and had to have this in my library. It’s not perfect. But it is good fun, and there is a lot of replay value.

Not sure what all of the bad reviews are about, but i have been into console racing games since the Atari 2600 30 years ago, and in my opinion this is the best racing game ever on any console and i have many of them (up to the PS2 and original Xbox) can’t speak for the current gen systems.This game has many modes of play, the graphics are excellent, the game play is as well and with adjustments the PS2 and xbox controllers can be just about as fine as any of the steering wheels on the market, you can tweak the controllers until you get them the way they feel best for you (the ps2 does do a better job than the xbox, though the xbox screens have faster load times) there are many cars and trucks in 3 classes to choose from (and with the cheat codes you can have them all from the start if you like)the demolition derby section is also a lot of fun.Overall this game is FLATOUT fun, pick up a copy and give it a go, if you love racing games i think you will like it!

In my opinion, FlatOut 2 is one of the best arcade style racing games ever. It may not have items, like Mario Kart or Crash Team Racing, but what it does have is Super speed, destruction Derby style racing. I’m personally a fan of this style of racing game, so there may be some bias, but the racing really is fun. You’re encouraged to cause as much destruction as possible. While going at a high speed the control, realistically, becomes somewhat slippery, and makes racing challenging as you need the skill to know when to go fast and when to slow down a bit.Plus, we have the stunts, where you launch your driver through the windshield in a variety of mini games, such as Baseball, Ring Of Fire, Ski Jump, and more. All of these are great time killers, and may be more fun than the actual racing.Overall, FlatOut 2 is a great arcade style racing game, but if what I’ve described doesn’t sound amazing to you, I’d recommend skipping this.
