In my opinion, this is a great fightinh game. The story is pretty much meaningless. Its an arcade fighter. Its made so that when you feel like playing street fighter, you don’t have to go to the arcade. This game has repetetive value especially if you have other people to play with. The controls are smooth and you can change each button to your desired move. I would reccommend to buy the arcade stick. It will make playing more fun and like a real arcade fighter.The multiplayer is good, but if your not a master at the game, you will get destroyed. The occasional button mashing might work, but very limited.The best value for this game is for someone that has others to play with or just like fighter games.
I remember playing Street Fighter II when I was a kid in the arcades all day long. I missed those days, so I decided to pick this up and try it out. I don;’t regret my decision, it puts a new spin on a classic game and makes it better. I didn’t like all the other Turbo, Etc versions of the recent Street Fighter games, but this one makes up for all those others. I like the new features and options it gives you. It combines a bit of old and new and gives new life to a classic game in the old 2D fighting platform.

I have always been a big fan of arcade fighting games, mostly Street Fighter, King of Fighter and Mortal Kombat, since I was a kid. I played this game on a friend’s PS3, and immediately ordered it for my Xbox 360. It lives up to all my expectations and really is refreshing, especially when I have half an hour between things and want to relax.Good’s:- Many many characters- Really good new moves- Plethora of combos and special movesBad’s:- To unlock a couple of characters, there are too many stringent requirements- The final boss in Arcade mode (Seth), is just a cheap trick to make it tough. Pretty much cheats his way out of your special moves, and is really difficult to defeat beyond Medium difficulty.It’s really a very good game, and is more or less a long term investment. If you have an extra controller, some friends over with beer, then it’s an extremely enjoyable evening. Going through the pains to defeat Seth, is worth it when you unlock characters like Fei Long and Cammy.
This game is pretty sick. I can’t quit playing.Pros: Graphics, in-game move list, tons of outfit colors, downloadable alternate outfits are awesome, online play puts your ego in check. Plenty of unlockablesCons: 1)Online play puts your ego in check (haha), Menu system for Live play SUCKS. I should not have to continue searching and searching and searching for games because the menu only shows 3 online games at a time. THEN, when you find one you’d like to play, you might not get in because “Game full” or “unable to play”. So you’re doomed to push “Search again” over and over. The system should have done all the work for you. It SHOULD just say “ok, you want to play online… here… I’ll find you a match… Boom… choose your character”. If this game was best played online, I would have given it a muuuch lower score, probably a 2. However, if you have friends, this game is best played person to person.2) New characters are pretty worthless. Seth can be awesome if you learn to use him, and Able is just OK, but Rufus is annoying and not fun to play with or against, and El Fuerte is worse than T. Hawk.Also, there are many cheese players online. “Hakoken! Hadoken! Hadoken! Hadoken! Hadoken!” Get some new moves, people. Beware.Over all… Go pick it up and enjoy hours and hours of entertainment for just $60.
Street Fighter 2 was and still is my favorite fighting game of all time. And while I wasn’t as excited as some about SF4, I was very eager to play it whenever I could get my hands on a copy at the local video store. This past Friday they had both the 360 and PS3 version in stock so I decided to try the 360 version first…Starting the game for the first time you will have access to the 12 original characters from Street Fighter 2 as well as four completely new ones (some admittedly uninspired). As you complete the game with different characters you can unlock additional characters. However unlocking certain characters like Akuma, require a bit more than just beating the game but I won’t get into that here.Personally I have no problem with the anime theme that seems to be the style Capcom was aiming for in their presentation. Fight locations are beautifully done and Capcom seemed to utilize the XBOX 360’s power well. Frame rates are silky smooth and there is no slowdown whatsoever in the action even as people in the background react to the fight at hand. The characters themselves are also done very well and quite detailed in their uniforms as well as facial expressions. I also like the background music though it’s not as epic or memorable as the BGM on SFII.As good as the game looks the game play suffers a bit on the XBOX 360 version. To me, it seems that the standard XBOX 360 controller does not work as well with the game as I would have liked. I recall on the SNES.
For anyone who played Street Fighter 2 back in the day you will be right at home here with Street Fighter 4. It has more depth than you might think at first, especially if you are a novice. Luckily even a newbie can jump in and mash buttons and still have some fun, but for the real Street Fighters out there I suggest you learn the usefulness of focus attack, super and ultra attacks early and don’t forget combo training! The game has an excellent challenge mode that will make you a master by the end. The only downside I have found is no lobby mode for multiple players for online play like in SF2HD Remix released late last year, but I suspect an update will rectify that some time. Plenty of unlockables will keep those not playing online busy and each character feels pretty balanced against most others, a feat that I can’t even describe to you. Get this game if you are a fan of fighting games what are you waiting for?

Im not really a big Street Fighter fan. Im more of MK fan, but this game was hard to ignore. For a simple 2d fighting game…the graphics were simple yet stunning. For a game like this, you would expect it to have a lot of modes. It does have quite a bit but nothing special (Arcade, online, training and a challenge). Just your basic stuff. But in order to unlock everything, you’ll need to play the game mutiple times even when you beat the game with everyone. So the replay value is high.Some of the characters are kind of cheesey…especially their endings..but there are some who make this up. Each character has their own introduction, rival and ending that are all done video wise (the intro and ending are done anime style) which means you dont have to read.Great game if you love the series or want to get into itPros:-Graphics-Replay value-Dont have to the read the intro or ending of the fightersCons:-Some of the characters and endings can be at times cheesey.-Not that many modes

Fun and nostalgic! I’d be lying if I said I purchased this for any other reason than just wanting to play Street Fighter from my childhood again. This game is really similar to the one I grew up playing. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad, but it definitely takes me back. A basic, no frills Street Fighter game with the original characters like Ryu, Blanka, and bad guy M. Bison. It is also Xbox One backwards compatible.

First let me say that SFIV is a well crafted game with a lot of nice touches and improvements. While not perfect, I’m sure the downloadable content will increase its value.OK, my stream-of-consciousness and reaction review:The first thing that caught my eye was that you can start the Arcade mode and be challenged in the middle of the game like at a real arcade via Xbox live. The matchmaking is superb as I was never paired with anyone that much lower than my skill nor higher. Every opponent felt just right. I did win more than I lost but I think that’s because I’m pretty good with this new Sagat. I felt quite unstoppable with him, his tiger knee is wonderful now, starts low, arcs and hits again on the way down. You can even combo into a super in the middle of a Tiger Knee!The graphics are very neat, a little stiffer looking than I expected them to look, though that is probably due to the fact that they seem to be aiming more for an anime look than real life, but they are gorgeous just the same. I love the little details like characters still breathing hard after being knocked unconscious and that characters aren’t mirrored when switching sides. Another cool thing in SFIV is the fact that, since the graphics are polygons, and not drawn, you can download cool alternate costumes that were impossible in any of the old games.In some ways SFIV feels a bit “dumbed” down in the gameplay though. While it includes many new and complex moves (EX, Ultra, Focus), it definitely felt e.

First off, if you like 2D fighting games and have been a fan since the ’90’s then just buy this if you haven’t already. For all others, I’ll keep the review short but informative.For the casual players (you play every now and then but don’t take games that seriously). The game is good but not exactly great for this type of customer. Playing by yourself against the computer should be fun since you can play with whichever character you want and still beat arcade mode in under 20 minutes. The difficulty scales well with the only exception being the final boss, Seth. But if you’ve played any fighting game before, or any videogame before you should know that final bosses are meant to be overpowering. Besides the arcade mode, playing with friends online will be fun as long as they are on your skill level.I really think this game is meant for the hardcore fan who always tries to better his skills online and enjoys pulling off hard to time combos using FDC and reading his opponents moves. If you’re one of these people, this game is deep, has a huge community of strong players and you will be challenged.This game has great replay value for hardcore. But casual players will be quickly turned off by the huge skill gap online between the advanced players and the beginners.*VERY IMPORTANT*If you like very specific fighting games that cater to your playstyle you might want to rent this first. For example, if you like Guilty Gear and Marvel vs Capcom’s fast-paced, offense oriented fighting.
