Functionally speaking, mine has worked perfectly. No issues. As others in the reviews have said, you need a 5v 1amp adapter to plug into the wall if you don’t want to plug into the TV to power it. I tried a 2amp adapter and the system would not turn on. So, it definitely must be a 1amp. The controller cord is incredibly short. I recommend getting a set of longer ones. I wanted a second controller anyhow so that didn’t matter to me. I got a set of 10ft controllers and have been fine. I like that I can save my spots for every game in the system. You can find the whole listing on NES’ website. This thing is so tiny! Shows how far tech has come. All those games on this lil thing. The only downside, which isn’t a downside because I thought about it before getting and made the choice is that the games on this system are built in. There are no cartridges. That means if I want more, I cannot have them. If you want games not on the listing, you then you should with a different system than the mini and be able to swap cartridges. If that is not a concern, then you’re all set like me!

I got this for my 7-year-old and everyone else in the family loves it, too. The games aren’t visually stunning or overly complicated, but they are loads of fun. It’s a great way to introduce classics to a new generation of video game players.

Hate that the wires were short but everything else was cool

Pros: Every NES Rom I own..yes own, I threw at it. It only didn’t handle 4 so that is ok. I was very decent with a custom kernel as well as any updates I had for it. The compact size is nice and light and this one has the HDMI (even though we all know it is just upgraded 8 bit to HDMI graphics thrown at it)Big Cons: Does not support original hardware :ie Light guns and controllers. So? You have to spend more moneyThe original price was 60 dollars less than this one. The HDMI upgrade is barely consequential.30 games when you could have included many more instead of people like me/ us knowing these things and doing it ourselves. Those cons in my mind are not acceptable. I bought it for a friend as a gift for X-mas and his vacation and I am happy to have the knowledge to do these things but Nintendo..Bandai all co-conspirators? Ashamed of you. You make enough already. I’m about making money, but do it right…Oh…and shame on retrolio for backing up the resell price too.Now what.Ross

I hate wired controllers and the price was high. Everything seems to work though.
