I played contra a LONG time ago when i was like 5 with my friend when he had atleast 20 nes games (i have around 20 but he had more than me!) and i was the red guy aka scorpion (how do i know his name? read to find out) while my friend was mad dog an well we sucked BUT our baby sitter he knew cheats for contra so we had 30 lives an beat it…..5 years later (2002) i got contra AND Operation Contra (awsome gameboy game) and i beat contra because im the type of (not meaning to brag) guy who has hand eye skills and its an easy game but my friends couldnt beat it unless they had 30 live cheat an thats the only way they would play with me (losers). later i won contra 2 aka super C(ontra) off ebay easily w/ box an instructions (i heard of this game cuz my OTHER friend; one of the loser friends on contra got super c an couldnt beat lvl1 an i came over an beat it on my third try!) anywho i got it beat it bribed my friends to play an they said no cuz no 30 live cheat only 10 (losers)thats my friggin long story now about the game, they changed the flamethrower gun (the F gun) better an made lvls harder (i HATE lvl4 an 7) but its really fun altho contra games like these r hard to get, i suggest u get it cuz if u suck, practice, thats how i got really good at it (an experiance from contra)!I got contra III: the alien wars (snes)…..but thats a different story…..

great condition and great game
Me –
Great game and in some ways I prefer it over Contra. I can actually see the bullets moving on the screen which is something that’s difficult for me with Contra. It also seems easier than Contra as well which is a plus for me.

This is a hard game that deserves the title of NES hard. The Contra games are notorious for their difficulty but they can be easily beaten with a little practice. This game is no exception. The game consists of sidescrolling and top view levels. They both play well each has their own method of difficulty. The levels and bosses are not too hard with the spread gun, but otherwise may prove a little challenging. The controls are perfect the way only Contra can do it, but like any other Contra game, two player mode makes everything harder. You would think having a second person on the screen would help with the overwhelming amount of enemies, which it does, but the scrolling screen can mess up a player when they are moving and cause each other’s death in the top scrolling levels. The game is fun and the challenge of the game makes it even more fun. When you finally beat it you get a great sense of satisfaction.

A must have for any NES fan. Always fun to use the spreader and wipe out the aliens. Maybe one day Xbox & PS4 will create a similar version…
Justin Maricle –
A lot faster and difficult than the original Contra but twice as fun!

Besides being a sequel to the legendary Contra, Super C also improves on a few key features: first off the bullets are easier to see, both coming from your commando and in the form of enemy fire. The flamethrower has become some sort of an explosive fireball weapon that deals much better damage than it’s first iteration in Contra. The fireballs in Contra had a tendency of spinning in circles while moving forward (I’ve even managed to miss enemies standing right in front of me!) but in Super C it’s much more direct and powerful, and just might be the strongest weapon in the game. Otherwise, I’ve often felt Super C was a little more preferable to Contra, as the levels are a little more varied (you’ve got inclined surfaces and top-view levels this time) and the difficulty more accessible. Unfortunately, the classic Konami code is gone from this one; replaced with an entirely different code that only gives you ten lives, but the game itself is simple enough that over time you’ll begin to understand enemy patterns and see that it’s really not so necessary this time around, anyway. Super C is yet another classic platforming shooter for the NES that any fan of the genre or system would do well in looking into.
