Gallop and ride is my favorite horse-related game that I have. My favorite part is that you can actually breed your horses. Not many games offer that, and when they do, there aren’t many color or pattern choices. And now for pros and cons :Cons:The foal training is hard to do. I found it very aggravating because if you miss one target, you might as well quit. It can be accomplished though, if you practice enough. There are only three breeds of horses. (Which I don’t mind)Pros:The graphics are are beautiful and very detailed. There are many different horse colors and patterns to choose from. You can breed your horses. The foals actually grow up in this game!Money is fairly easy to earn. There are lots of different trails to ride on.You don’t have to groom your horse every two minutes. This game is definitely worth buying.Tip:Put your horses out to pasture before you go to bed, then you don’t have to pay for feed in the morning.Buy your horse with bonus points, then you don’t use up your real money.

Hello!I am borrowing my mom’s account to write a review for this game. I personally like it, it is fun, and rather realistic. The first things to know are simple, the start really shouldn’t be that hard if you can focus. The only ways to make money is by training a foal for a client, and/or entering competitions. The FOAL TRAINING was REALLY ANNOYING! Timing has to be perfect, the slightest mistake can throw you off. When you enter competitions, you start in one area, called the fields. That is where you make the basic cash. You can only enter 3 competitions in each area, so if you find difficulty in foal training, competitions can’t become your way to get money because of that limitation. After completing the 1 star requirements,(which are easy, so don’t freak) you can go on and complete the 2 star requirements, and so on. Eventually, you reach five stars. Some important things you might want to know:-If you intend on owning a horse, do not do what they show in the game! Because it’s not that simple because of limitations and ‘double-standards’ (owning vs training someone else’s)-The hoof cleaning is slightly realistic-Your horse can get sick, so take care of it well!-If you are a lefty (like me) there is an option in the menu so that you can make it a nunchuck-control game when it comes to horseback riding, meaning that instead of using your hands to steer, you can use the analog sick on the nunchuck to control your horse. This is a REALLY nice lefty feature, I wis.

Its a great game, will take very long to finish which is good for kids who dont want to play it all the way through in a day. very detailed, pretty tough at first when the only way to make income is to train Foals, and credits are what you need really badly in the beginning. still, its a good game. I would recommended it.

My sister loves horse games, she has been playing them she was 3, she is 16! Total animal lover! I do quite a bit of research before buying games, especially since so many of the horse games are “Here’s the horse, ride the horse, race the horse, the end.” I bought the Wii game, Horsez Wild Horse Adventures, she loved it, but in two days she had beaten the game. She still liked to wash the horses and ride them around, but it got redundant. I read around, looking for a game with more. When I stumbled upon this game I liked the fact that it was tedious and required skill beyond “turn left, turn right.”The controls are terrible (or so I have read by many reviews) however, there is a very simple way to deal with it . . . go into Options and change the controls to the analog on the Nunchuck. Problem solved, guiding the horses direction is super easy. This game is a learning activity, it teaches problem solving, budgeting, time management, responsibility and just how difficult it is to own a horse. It is kind of like the Tycoon games the gamers like!If you are looking for a simple, riding game, this is not for you. But if you are looking for a game that combines skill and intelligence, then give it a go, it has a long play time, and requires an attention span.Happy gaming!

Pretty fun.The controls are weird, as they’re either too easy or too hard. I have my settings set to easy because my arms tire too quickly if I fling the remotes around too much. The time goes by way too fast, but buying books in the game apparently makes grooming and such go by quicker, which gives you more time for training your horses. All in all, I’d say it’s in my top favorite horse games.

A in depth game that will keep you coming back for more. The layout is simple and easy to play and you get to care for your own foals and breed your horses. Great for ages 6 and up.

Okay here’s the deal. There are cons AND pros. Pros: Very realistic, good graphics, Hundreds of mixtures of coats and patterns, feed and groom horses, up to nine horses, many ways to earn money from Breeding to massaging, detailed races, different saddles, tiny story line that you can skip through and it doesn’t affect the game, and much more i don’t want to spoil for you Cons: Days aren’t very long, foal training is the first job you have and it’s kind of hard to get, it’s annoying to have to groom your horses every morning and night, 5 min after i feed them they are hungry, only 3 breeds 9 though the breeds have no effect whatsoever but on the size ), some things you need such as medicine are pretty expensive. What it’s all about: There is a short story at the beginning, but you can just skip through it. At the beginning of the game, you can choose 3 outfits ( depending if your girl or boy) and 1 horse, the horse you designed for your stable. Don’t spend all the money you got from the start. You have 2 hay and you really only need to feed your horse once a day for it to be happy. Once you advance through the game, you earn more money. So at sometime in the game, you are allowed to BREED your horses! It takes some time, but it’s worth it. It’s cheaper than having to buy your horses from the computer in the game. The cost goes up to 200, instead of 2,000. And you get really good racers. With foal training ( your first job ) it’s hard to get. In order to figure it out, you ha.

My daughter loves horses, and this is the next best thing to her riding class. She loves it, and it was worth every penny!!

Bought this for my 5yr old daughter for Christmas 2010. Opened it to try it before Christmas since there were some posts about having to get used to the control of the horse. I found it very easy to control and I do not think my daughter will have any issues either. Overall, looks like a great buy.
