I myself became addicted to the Lufia series a year ago, when I purchased Lufia II for SNES. Lufia II was a truly succesful game, especially because of the love story, the stupidity of the character named Dekar, and of course, the sinistrals.I became so excited of Lufia IV, and when I got it…well let’s just say it was fun, but missing something. Lufia IV features a VERY generic storyline, if any storyline at all. I was seriously dissapointed, because the storyline is the heart of the RPG. This game has a very, very un-Lufialike storyline. In Lufia II, the Love between Maxim, childhood girlfriend Tia and Selan was VERY well played out, and the moment when Tia left Maxim was unforgetable. In Lufia IV, there is no love story. The girl, Rami, who follows the main characters Eldin and Torma are in no situation of love; its like the exact opposite because the guys are annoyed at her. The other girl, Rubius, also eventually is dragged into the pointless adventure. She’s sorta pretty but in no way tied in a love story between the others. Finally, in Lufia II there was Dekar. Dekar, for those who don’t know him, was the absolute funniest of the bunch because he was flat out stupid yet the strongest of them all, and always tried to get the ladies attention. He was the favorite for many. Natsume knew this, and magically brought him into IV, but he isn’t the same as he used to be. He only stays for a while, too. You’ll see the difference when you meet him.The music was remix.

The most unique and fully-built rpg EVER. This game has it ALL. One of the most treasured games I have ever played. I’ve looked for ages to try to find other games like it and there really isn’t much out there. Golden Sun is the closest but Golden Sun doesn’t have as good of art as Lufia has nor does it have as good of gameplay. Golden Sun is a 10/10 in my book and Lufia Ruins of Lore is a 10/10 too. This has the most epic story line and has every dungeon, monster, sword, spell, location you can ever what or think of. Not many games can do that. I rank this up there with TES Oblivion and Morrowind. Skyrim is below this game in my book (Skyrim was pretty rough around the edges for the console versions, should’ve been better).Any negative reviews are from people with low standards and not a high level of love for a rpg like this. The puzzles are the best of any game I’ve ever played. Every other game I scoff and complain at how stupid and easy they all are. Golden Sun although had good puzzles too but not as good as Lufia. TES puzzles are a joke sorry to say. If you can’t complete the puzzles in Lufia then that’s pretty sad. They aren’t hard puzzles, they just make you make slow down and think for a sec. All other games have for puzzles are is like pull two levers and that’s the puzzle. You can caputure and evolve monsters (similar to pokemon but not in a copying way). They fight along with you and are completely awesome looking. Giant blood bats, fire hawks, dragons, insects, sea.
