metroid’s second adventure on the gameboy advance. this game came out in february of 2004. i had purchased it originally that summer but didn’t get the chance to finish it. i recently played ‘metroid fusion’ so i wanted to go back and beat this game too. i liked ‘metroid fusion’ in part for its quick play-through time, i believe i gave it five stars but i may have to change it to match the review for this one. ‘metroid fusion’s game-play was different than the classic ‘super metroid’ style so it was a bit more challenging.’metroid zero mission’ is more in line with the game-play from ‘super metroid’ so it was a bit easier to play through. you can beat this game in five hours, maybe sooner if you’re not hung up on getting everything. this game re-tells the story of what happened in the first metroid game for the NES. due to technological limitations, the first metroid was unable to tell the same story show in ‘zero mission’.in ‘metroid fusion’ the X parasites were a large part of the puzzle-solving/advancing. this time around, a significant chunk of the game-play involves freezing baddies, in order to reach areas, solves puzzles, etc. you get essentially the same power-ups from ‘metroid fusion’. this game does have its challenging moments and bosses though. be prepared for metroid, mother brain and ridleys.pretty good game, but quick play-through time combined with easy game-play stop it from hitting five stars.

I got this game with an SP, and it great!!! I have metroid prime 3 and are a metroid fan,and with zero mission and fusion stolen, i need to get them again.OK. now one of the great features about sidescrolling games (of metroid) is power grip. they did NOT put this in any other metroid non-sidescrolling games. period. I do agree that nintendo should have worked out the death sequence, that when you die, if you saved 5 hours ago, thats where you restart. nintendo also changed some other powers in the prime games.like the nova beam. but they added phazon mode, and the old X-ray vision. This is one of my favorite stolen games. (stolen FROM me!)

After playing through each and every game again, even the original Metroid for my good old NES, I played Zero Mission. The game itself is the most beautiful 2D experience in Metroid history, easily eclipsing Super Metroid or Fusion with its superior animation and level design. Planet Zebes has never looked so good and so menacing. The extra content after the battle with Mother Brain is a surprise and helps flesh out the story more. By the time you have completed the game you will want to do it all over again. In fact I have already gone through it twice and plan on a third adventure in the near future.Trust me, it is short like most of the best SNES and NES games were but since you want to replay it over and over you easily get hours and hours of enjoyment that doesn’t require 20+ hours of your life each sitting. People are finally beginning to understand that games don’t all have to be 40 hours to be good; in fact I play Super Mario Bros. 3 often enough to be in the thousands of hours. This game includes:-Extra Material to Flesh out the storyline-Comic book style cut scenes-Tons of animation (sweet!)-Great soundtrack (must hear!)-A wide assortment of weapons not found in the original-Power ups new to the first Metroid like Charge Beam-A overworld map not found in the originalThis game is everything Fusion or Super Metroid is but better.

Great game. I ordered it from the retrolio Warehouse. It came with the box, manual and cartridge. The box still had the seal on it but the game had some saves from the previous owners. The cartridge is in amazing condition. The game is better than what I expected. I expected a better looking original Metroid. Its actually its own game so if you played the original you still need to play this one. Get it!

This is one of the best GBA game I have ever played!!!!!Im completely new to the series and decided to try it out the first day it came out.I found out this game has it all!Its incredibly fun and the upgrades are so cool. Not to mention the graphics, they are some of the best Ive ever seen on GBA.This game can get tough with its constant backtracking and complex(but well put together) puzzles. But do not worry, the fun of this game makes up for its difficulty level.I would also recommend the strategy guide too.Now that I have played this one ,I think ill try metroid fusion. Is it good too?

The original Metroid for the NES was amazing for its time, and even now is a great game under any circumstance. Zero Mission is the same game with a lot more areas, upgrades, enemies, and superb graphics. Also, you as Samus, can move much more freely than before. For the first time ever you not only can run with the speed booster, crouch down to charge and jump dash in middair [as featured in Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion which is called spinesharking] but roll into morph ball form and spineshark in a ball to break blocks in small areas. A new area on Zebes, Crateria, is also added. SPOILERS AHEAD! In the original Metroid, the game ended after you blew up Mother Brain and escaped from Brinstar[a classic]. Now, the game continues on, and you are shot down by enemy Space Pirate ships, and crash on "Chozodia" and must infiltrate the Space Pirate Mother Ship without your powersuit [or Varia of cource] armed with only a stun laser. You eventually recover the suit along with upgrades NOT featured in the original Metroid; Space Jump, Plasma beam, and the Varis suit. For anyone wondering if or how you can return to Brinstar, Nofair, ect., there is a glass shaft that leads from Chozodia to Chozo Ruins [another new area], power bomp it, and jump around near the edge of the middle shaft in morph ball form. The shaft will break, and you will gain access to Crateria. The game has two basic difficulties, but if you beat it on normal, you unlock hard mode, which IS HARD! There.

The Good: Improved presentation, everything from Fusion is here, plus someThe Bad: You can beat the game in a couple of sittings, absurd boss fights, not enough new content over Fusion, almost non-existent storyI really loved Fusion and I was really looking forward to Zero Mission but after playing it I didn’t like it as much. The game improves on every level over Fusion such as the graphics, sound, and game play (you can play as Zero Suit Samus!) The story isn’t as good either, in fact it’s hardly there at all. All I knew is that Samus was sent to Zebes to destroy Mother Brain and that’s it…yeah some story. All the same weapons and power ups are here that were in Fusion and ZM features a whole new set of bosses and enemies. I really hated the boss fights in this game because they were so difficult and almost impossible. If I weren’t playing this on an emulator then they WOULD be impossible. If you loved Fusion then play Zero Mission but don’t expect what you got in Fusion.

The game, “Metroid Zero Mission” by Nintendo, really gives the original metroid story a good strong background. Although some features from this game differ from the original “Metroid”, the rooms, levels and items are almost the same. It aslo sticks to the storyline of Samus’ first mission: defeating mother brain. It aslo has the same good surprise ending of ***** ***** * **** (didn’t want to ruin the surprise). Although the average game time for first players is only a puiny 4 hours, the game pushes you through easy, normal, and hard difficulties. There are also different peices of gallery art that you can collect. If your lucky, you could unlock the original “metroid”! You can win things by winning the game at different times, or getting a certain amount of game completion. Speaking of which, you can complete the game, with only finishing 15% of it (that’s the lowest). This is a really great game that I know you’ll be playing for a long time. I recomend this game entirely.
