For those who have not played a Metroid before, it’s a side scrolling sci-fi adventure that takes you through an incredible world and the way you get through this world is with your gun that can be powered up by missiles, charges and bombs. For those who have played a Metroid game before, Samus (Metroid’s heroine) has been infected by a parasite. A parasite that has now infected everything onboard a space lab! A lab is not exactly a world; in fact it is blatantly divided into eight levels. Samus is lucky though, because she is already infected, so every mutated monster that she reverts to its normal self (by shooting it), the parasite leaves the body, where Samus can catch the parasite for energy or a replenishment of missiles, but if she does not, the parasite can fly around to find another creature to mutate. Basically enemies can indeed come back to life. There are an entirely new cast of enemies, monsters and bosses, but the most interesting enemy is a clone of Samus that follows just a step behind! The game is very straight forward, there are many features for Gameboy Advance, such as save points are everywhere, there are places to fill up your energy all the way, and everything is easy to find because of navigation rooms that make a map and mark where you should go, so that way it keeps the game moving forward. Its great Metroid fun with an entirely new cast of enemies, a new mission, blatant levels of the game, but still with Metroid secrets.

Game came in great shape, did not come with the manual like it lists on the main listing, however description did say that it may not include it. Not a problem for me.

im totally new to the metroid saga. i had never even heard of the name samus until this year. as i said im a new to metroidstuff and i love it this game is so cool!… most of all this game is not just about shooting and other things you have to use your brian to figure out how to get to other rooms adn use stratedy. when i first read most of the reviews of this game every one said it was an awsome port and it kept the errieness of the game. at first i had no idea by what they ment by the errieness but when i bought this game (11/29/02) which is today and took it home and played it after a while i started to understand by what the errieness was. if you by the game and understand what it is about i gets kind of wierd strange unusual not normal and just kind of “when is he gonna attack me?, is he around this corner or the next door?” also the graphis are good too it is kind of like the snes but the graphics are better.well i just want to congragulate the people at nintendo on just how great of a job they did! this is a must buy!

A must play especially for the old school gamers who grew up in the NES days. I recommend playing with with a Gameboy player on a normal screen. But not necessary to enjoy.

Metroid Fusion is an all around great follow-up to Super Metroid, and most recently Metroid: Other M. In Metroid Chronology, Fusion is the last entry in the series so thus far, and pits Samus Aran up against a new nemesis, The X Parasites of Metroid II’s Planet SR388. I will list its strengths and then weeknesses (in my opinion of course). The Gameplay is fantastic, very remniscent of Super Metroid, and very similar to its counterpart Metroid Zero Mission, only released a year or two before the latter. Controls are smooth and graphics are pretty detail oriented. The music score is very well composed, allowing the player to feel some adrenaline, chills, calm and suspense with almost every different area exposed. The game itself is detailed in that there is a lot to uncover as you go, and its very well structured meaning that you cant deviate from the story, that there is a set order on accomplishments. The gameplay and story allow this game not to be boring in the slightest if you are able to completely immerse yourself in it, and you understand the progress of the story in its entirety, otherwise for those just jumping into the Metroid Story at this point, they might get bored and confused (much like the Paranormal Activity movies). For as much new stuff included (Diffusion Missiles, Wide Beam, X-Parasites, Objective like structure, etc.) there are also the inclusions of classic Metroid elements, such as enemies from previous games like a battle with Ridley-X (whose remains we.

The famed ‘Metroid’ series really hit its stride with the release of "Super Metroid" for the Super NES platform. It did away with the monotony of "Metroid II" and enhanced the gameplay and environment of the original "Metroid". The puzzles and challenges presented by this version captivated all kinds of gamers. It re-hashed the original story and gave it some extra kick. New weapons and abilities were introduced, as were more complex storylines. Having never played any of the ‘Metroid’ games before this one, it was quite a spectacular introduction. Now, fast foward a few years. Knowing that the new GameBoy Advance System is making quite a profit out of porting old Super NES games for handheld, I was interested to see if Nintendo was going to put "Super Metroid" on the GBA. Well, they did, sort of. The game that ended up being developed for GBA was called "Metroid Fusion" and it resembles "Super Metroid" in many ways. However, there are several distinctions. For starters, this takes place AFTER "Super Metroid" and adds a new wrinkle to story by creating a new nemesis called ‘parasite X’ which was able to procreate after our hero, Samus, wiped out all of the Metroids on SR 388. This parasite is a menace to the entire universe and all traces of it on SR 388 and the orbital research lab must be destroyed. "… Fusion" takes place entirely aboard the orbital research lab and employs most of.

An excellent addition to the Metroid saga with some unexpected plot twists I hope to see used in future Metroid games (hint hint Nintendo!) I think this is definately a must have for those who have enjoyed the previous Metroids and something that everyone with a GBA should at least try. Agreed, for the newcomer the hiding places of some of the games items are remote and difficult to find on your own, but getting there is half the fun as they say! Graphics are exceptional and the controls are tight and intuitive. The music is top notch as well. Pick this one up, even if it’s just to try. You can thank yourself (and maybe me) later.
