These are only good for their durability now, as the Nintendo DS and DS lite systems can play Game Boy Advance games in addition to DS games.

First of all, the Gameboy Advance is an amazing system.1. The Graphics are equal to and sometimes exceeding that of the SNES.2. The sound is still that of a handheld system, but not like any handheld sysytem anyone has ever heard (It has digitized voices and actually enjoyable music.)3. I am quite fond of the horizontal layout and controls, but only after playing it for a very long period of time (Several hours) do my large hands become a bit sore.4. HERE IS THE KILLER- I’m quite sure you’ve heard of this problem before, and if you haven’t you better. Not only is there no backlighting, but when using light from most other sources (Namely gamelights) it is very difficult to get the highest quality of lighting, but it is possible. When I play my GBA at home I lie on my floor and hang a flashlight over my head. It might sound annoying, but I never really notice it. I hope Nintendo comes out with a good light, and if they decide they would rather make a new GBA they better do something to help the people that already bought them. But no matter the case, the GBA is well worth the cost, and most importantly they have numerous good games, as well as many on the way.

The new Game Boy is great, I got one for Christmas and, it has 32 bit graphics and already has tons of games for it, playable for up to 4 players with a game link. It also convientally plays all prior Game Boy games and fits into my Game Boy carring case. The screen is bigger than the one on Game Boy Color and you can also hook it up to a GameCube to play on the big screen. I reccomend getting Mario Kart for it as a first game.

I’ve never owned an actual game boy advanced, my thing was always the Game Boy SP, but from my perspective this was in seemingly perfect condition and worked flawlessly. the screen was hard to see unless you have direct light but I believe all Game Boy advance’s were like that. I think back-lighting screens came for the SP?

Once again, Nintendo continues to prove why it is the dominant leader in the video game industry. Other systems come along with more publicity or promises of flashier gameplay and titles, but Nintendo keeps moving along and defeated all challengers. Its most recent full-size console, GameCube, has more than held its own against its fancier competition of Playstation 2 and X-Box, owing the superior quality of titles and better gameplay. Now, in the handheld arena, Nintendo continues to monopolize the market in a way that has discouraged any other video game manufacturers from trying to compete. With Gameboy Advance, Nintendo has managed to produce a handheld device that would go toe-to-toe with mid-generation full-size consoles like Playstation 1, Super NES, and all Sega platforms. Gameboy has been around since the late 80’s and, despite being viewed as a lesser gaming system with competitors like Sega GameGear, Atari Lynx, and TurboGrafx 16, it somehow managed to be the only one left standing. Once again, this is a tribute to superior quality of game titles and better gameplay. Really, the only knock on the earlier generations of Gameboys was that the games they could play were limited in scope by the technology at the time. Versions of the Super Mario games, Play Action football, and CastleVania were subdued versions of their NES and SuperNES counterparts (though I really did like CastleVania 2 for Gameboy). That problem does not exist anymore. Gameboy Advance now ca.
