    Classic for psp

I really enjoyed this game. I gave the game a 4 star overall because it felt very straight forward like GOW2. The first game by Jaffe was simply amazing. The level design on the first game has not been matched on the subsequent games. For instance, in GOW1 the game tempo from running about in the desert to conquering a city on top of a titan’s back, then inside this city is a city sized puzzle, so on and so on is simply an art. The part that makes the GOW series so amazing is the seemingly seamless transition from one level to the next; this is the same for this game. The boss fights like GOW2 are very simple taking on the multi-staged fights, which can get pretty old after a while. On the PSP, the control aspect has not been compromised; in fact, you start to wonder why this scheme couldn’t have been implemented on the previous versions. The executable combo attacks is actually improved on the PSP. As with the previous two, there is not much replay value, once you’ve completed the game on the hardest setting and the challenge level, then nothing really makes you want to revisit the game. It seems the challenge levels were thrown in to qualify for some points. Multiplayer…bub-kiss, nada! As for additional content, given the limitations of the UMD, I can forgive them for the lack of. In conclusion, if you have a PSP, I highly recommend this game as part of your collection.

Good game! If you love Greek mythology this game is for you. Fantastic gameplay ! Graphics are awesome. there are a lot of puzzles and secrets that are in need to unravel to continue on your journey but that can’t stop Kratos as he seek out and destroy everything in his path.

If God of War is known for anything, its the graphic brutality (and the sex mini-game in each entry, but that’s for another time). The two entries for the PS2 and GoW III for the PS3 are known for a unbelievable story of redemption and how NOT to piss off a spartan. Especially a spartan that has anger management problems. Anyway, how about this PSP installment? Is it any good? Does it live up to the GoW name? Yes. To all. Visually, its one of the best looking PSP games out there. The story takes place before the original GoW and its an interesting take on a part of Kratos’s past. It really doesn’t tie into the "I’m going to kill Ares/Zeus" story of the main console titles, but it is still excellently done. The graphic quality of Kratos swinging the Blades of Athena at all the undead foes, and the button mini-game executions is just as satisfying as any GoW game. My only gripe is the stick. As your trying to traverse the world, it can be a great hindrance. If your a die hard gamer/GoW/Kratos fan, this is a no-brainer buy.

I’ve been a gamer for a long long time. For decades I was a PC gamer, and I still am to an extent. My wonderful, beautiful, and thoughtful wife gave me a PSP last year for my birthday. Never having used or played any of the consoles, I was unfamiliar with the controls, but I liked the idea of the portability of the PSP. I played the two Tomb Raider games that are available, and enjoyed them enough. I also played Indiana Jones – Staff of Kings, and liked that as well. But after that I found myself starving for something to play, and raided my sons room on a clean up spree. He had Untold Legends, so I played it. I loved that game a lot, it was right up my alley, and nice and long so it took forever to play through. Upon completing that game twice, once as a knight and once as a druid, I again found myself starving for something good to play. So I started some research, and came across God of War with all of its outstanding reviews. As long as the character control was totally analog stick I was good to go.I have just completed my first run through this great game. WOW, the only thing I can say is that all of the positive reviews were dead on. Outstanding graphics, breathtaking panoramas, perfect art work, superb music score, outstanding sound affects, and absolutely perfect character control and camera angles & control. The folks at Edios should take a lesson on the character control and camera angles & control from these developers. I’m not going to go into great detail here a.
