It surpasses the 1st GOW game for the PSP. And I also like the storyline a little bit better than GOW3 for the PS3.

…But that’s not necessarily a bad thing. For the first hour or so of playing this game I was bored. The minor enemies in this game were essentially the same as they were in the rest of the series. Even the places were very similar to what I’ve already seen in the other God of War games (fighting on ships at sea, exploring a city in a catastrophe). But I continued playing and to my surprise, despite being nearly identical to its predecessors, God of War can still deliver.The combat is the same as the other God of War games. What makes this game different (especially from Chains of Olympus) is you cover a tremendous amount of different settings, from Atlantis to mountain peaks, from Sparta to the realm of Death. The bosses, despite being few and far between, also offer awe-inspiring sequences of action that will have your heart racing. Remember the valley of the crumbling pillars from God of War 2? Well there are MANY sequences in this game that had me as excited as I was the first time I played through that sequence.So no, the game is not incredibly original, and if the God of War formula has grown completely stale for you then i would advise against buying this game. But if you’re looking for a great, thrilling, and genuinely fun game, this is highly reccomended.

It’s incredible that they were able to fit an entire GOW game onto the PSP. The story, music, sound, and gameplay are all top notch. They fit the control scheme perfectly to the PSP. The graphics match the PS2 GOW games. This is definitely the best game I have played on the PSP so far.
