This is hands down one of my favorite games for the PSP. It is much more interactive than the Chains of Olympus. And the new abilities are pretty sweet too. Highly recommended.

There are several other very thorough reviews here already, so I’ll keep mine short. If you have played the other four God of War games, you should definitely play this one too. Even on the small screen of the PSP, it looks great and feels epic. The sound and music immerse you in the mythological realms. The combat and controls are very tight. It felt like it was a little longer than Chains of Olympus, but not much. It does tie the story together nicely, especially between I and II.As with other GOW games, once you beat the game you unlock some other areas, like an arena, to add to the game play experience and time.I definitely recommend you pick this great PSP game up.

I have been a big fan of hack and slash and the God of War series is on the top of the list. GOW3 was great but nothing too special overall for me. GoS on the other hand blew me away! It just amazes me how ReadyatDawn is able to produce such a game on the 5 year ols PSP engine. The game is beautiful and runs amazingly smooth with a lot of stuff going on. You just need to see for yourself. This game blows away CoO, which was my favorite PSP game until GoS arrived. I dare say this game looks better then most of the PS2 games out there and even better then some PS3 games! Its that great!Aside from the awesome graphics, the gameplay and story is great and appropriate as a side adventure. The length, which was lacking on CoO is extended and will set you back around 10 hours. What else can I say but get this game NOW if you are remotely interested. You can thank me later.

As a long time God of War fan and a follower of David Jaffe’s blog, it was with high expectations that I picked up God of War: Ghost of Sparta from a local game shop. In short, Ghost of Sparta delivers just what you’d expect. A fun ride, lots of killing, naked women and huge bosses. It excels in the few spots that Chains of Olympus faltered, and successfully brings the entire God of War package to the PSP.The first scene quickly cements Kratos’ drive to once again rebel against Athena’s words and unleash his fury. A violent vision recalls a day long forgotten. The day that Deimos, Kratos’ brother was snatched away while Kratos looked on, unable to help. Kratos’ sole drive in Ghost of Sparta is to rectify that mistake and find Deimos. From the onset you’re thrust into the action, controlling a miniaturized Kratos on board a sea faring ship crawling with blade wielding baddies determined to kill you. You slash your way through the hoards using Kratos’ iconic Blades of Athena, chaining familiar and new gory combos on ground and in air. New to Kratos’ moveset is a running tackle, followed by a barrage of punches. If done without interruption, you can mock your victim as Kratos brutally tears him apart. It isn’t long before you face Ghost of Sparta’s first boss, the gigantic and menacing Scylla in the first bout of a 2 round battle. Though not as epic as the Hydra or the Colossus, the Scylla serves as a great opening battle to Ghost of Sparta.True to the original format as directe.
