Although I am a long time Godzilla fan, his past videogames have left much to be desired. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I first played this game at a friend’s house. It actually made me run out and buy a Game Cube! Smashing, destroying, punching, kicking, spitting fire and shooting lasers out of your face….this is what Godzilla is all about, my friends! And this is what Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee delivers. It’s sort of like violent breakdancing… a symphony of destruction where you are the conductor and other monsters are your percussive instruments.I happen to like this game for certain qualities that you may or may not enjoy. It is similar to Smash Brothers, which is another game I like. However, the melee mode action in Smash Bros is usually a little too fast for me to follow… so when I play it with friends I usually get…kicked, which looses its charm after about a thousand times. But the action in Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters is a little slower. Although it may be a drawback in the opinion of some fighting game gurus, the slower action forces players to rely more on strategy and actually gives me the chance to be on par with my friends in melee mode. It’s the perfect fighting game to play with your friends if you are not already a fighting game expert or if you’re just an old timer like me. At any rate, it really is more appropriate that these classic giant monsters are more lumbering than the Smash Bros characters. The animation is great, the.

It’s a fun game. Infact, this game was the reason i’m a godzillafan. You get to fight with 11 different monsters (plus mothra issummened by a power up and hedorah is in the game somtimes. Also,Orga is a secret monster who is the 11th monster. There’s 6real cites and monster island. Theres 6 modes of play to. Godzilla fans you should get this game. If your tired of this game, get Godzilla Save The Earth.

Great game for kids. No blood or gore, just big rubber monsters bouncing around on the screen knocking cartoon buildings down. Sort of a WWF wrestling with those classic monsters. Lots of hidden moves, button combos, etc. You will need a GameCube controller if using a WII as the WIImotes dont have enough buttons on them to control the monsters as designed originally for the GameCube. They are under $10 online. You also may want to get a GameCube/Wii memory card if you want to save your points. Graphics are good, commentary in game is a little weak. Story is thin. My 11 year old pretty much beat the game after a week, but still plays with 6 yr old brother who can still beat daddy.

Godzilla Destroy All Monsters is a fun, and incredibly well made game. As long as I have played it, I have never encountered any major flaws whatsoever. There are few things I could think of that I would rather do than invite some friends over and throw then around tokyo. One of the nice things about the game is the view. It moves in relation to the monsters and adds a cinematic feel without hampering your movement at all. It also is able to keep your line of sight clear from obstacles. Especially is Versus mode, the adds a really nice touch. Another great thing is that any monster can thrive anywhere. It doesn’t matter if you are surrounded by skyscrapers or in an open plain. This is really nice, seeing that you can never have somebody complain that they were at a disadvantage. One of the really cool moves in this game is the ability to pick up an enemy monster. This move is risky, being that you have to get within severe punching range, but, executed correctly, it can be easy, and very rewarding. Also, every monster can picked up just as easily as any other. The tiniest guy can pick up the biggest and vice-versus with equal ease. The game combat system is one of the best ever created. With only a few buttons, it allows for a vast array of moves. Once you have learned how to play, It is very easy, even in the heat of battle, to execute the move you want. Aside from duking out your friends, there is the Adventure mode. The story is perfectly Godzilla cheesy, and just giv.
