I was fascinated by this game. The story-line is beautiful and the game-play is highly addictive. There are few turned-based games that are awesome to play–this is one of them. The soundtrack is also amazing. If you haven’t heard this game’s music, you should give it a shot.
Cool what I wanted
If you are an rpg fan, please stay away from this one. The story line is one dimensional, and does not adequately develop characters. The main character, Ryudo, is insulting to all things RPG. The script is childish, and the plot pushes you in a specific direction, rather than allow you to follow on your own. Weapons upgrades are fairly automatic, as it takes you a certain number of battles to get to a new city to buy weapons, and when you do, you can always afford them. You are always more powerful than your enemies, even the bosses, and unless the storyline demands that you die, you never do. Hence there is no challenge. Even the soundtrack is repetitive.The only saving grace is the real-time/turn based battle system. This is a very good amalgamation of a tactical turn based/strategy driven action system, and a hack and slash real time combat system. It could rely more heavily on strategy, as counter-attacks are not determined by proximity to the target, but rather initiative, which is inane. In effect a counter attack occurs before the attack actually takes place (begging the question, How, then, is it a counter attack?). Do not buy this game, I’m very distraught that I did.

Grandia 2 is one of the best RPG games ever created. Tell me a few dreamcast games that are playstation 2 compatible? They’re not many. The storyline is incredible. I played this game growing up as a kid and now I’m 22 still playing this RPG game. I’ll rate this game a perfect 5 excellent. Ps Millenia is badass character one of my favorite.
I rented this game to see if it was any good and it turned out to be AUWSOME! It’s one of the few recent rpgs that havent sacrificed control and plot for graphics.If you like the mario RPG for super nintendo(not the poor exuse for its sequel on n64), youl like this just as much. The only problem i found was that it takes less than a week of constant playing to beat and could have been a bit more challenging. I hope you all at least rent the game and maybe buy it.

Grandia, originally for the Sega Saturn, is the essence of an out-and-out, underground landmark. Riding along the celestial gamut with the likes of Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG, the first Grandia bought forth a skillfully representation of the hero struggle and an extraordinary battle engine. However, GameArts’ second attempt to reinstate their own Grandia principles doesn’t rank up as climatic as the original. Their dagger to live up to the name of Grandia II is simultaneously sharp and dull. GameArts manages to rejuvenate the reincarnation of an unparalleled battle system and a fiercely polished graphical trimming, then leaving their previous strong points on plot and characters in the gutters of RPG degradation.Let’s not dwell on the fact that Grandia II has a few shortcomings in its story presentation. First, let’s invest time on a breakdown on why Grandia II is noteworthy and slightly distant from a humdrum RPG. What serves as its vantage side is the impressive and addictive hybrid of real-time and turn-based clash. Ballooned on the screen are the selected combatants in a full-sized hoedown with enormous fiends. Grandia II’s system is based on a bar found at the bottom of the screen. The bar contains Faces of each individual participating in the battle, enemies included. Adjoining on it are the three segments of WAIT, COM, and ACT. After the WAIT portion, a specified Face hits the COM, and an action for a character is selected. The Face then advances to.
Grandia 2 is the best RPG ever made. This game was produced by Sega originaly, so you know the graphics and gameplay will be great. This game is also very addictve. I played for 3 and a half hours non stop and 15 hours in 3 days. The plot is very interesting and has a few turns that you would never expect. This game has everything you are looking for in an RPG. If you’re looking for a great game, look no further because Grandia 2 is the game for you…

Grandia II was my first Grandia title, and I didn’t get to the first or third until years later. But when I did get the chance to own sand sample each of the other two, I found them highly enjoyable experiences as well. They also have the same pattern that the Lunar games did (the first two, anyway); The sense of adventure that comes with the main character and general game. Behind each title is an interesting, developed plot that may have cliches, but handles them beautifully and still pulls you in. However, each game (except Grandia II) has a fun, grand sense of adventure. Grandia II lacks that sense of adventure, but is still definitely a great title by Game Arts and worthy of being a numbered Grandia title.The story and characters of two start out fun, but not charming all at once, but they do grow on you quickly. The characters are charming in their own way and develop well, individually and in their relationships with each other. The story itself also has a great pace and unfolds well.The music is great too and keeps up with the other titles, though whether because of time frame or because of how memorable it is, doesn’t quite stick with me the way III’s does. Regardless, it’s still great work once more by Noriyuki Iwadare.One can’t forget the battle system either, and it’s definitely as fun as Grandia’s. It’s fast-paced, plays well, makes you plan out moves and is generally loads of fun and what helps make the experience. I’d say the battle system alone could carry a G.

This game was pretty amusing.Had some funny moments, good costumes, generic characters you’ve come to fall in love with (Millenia and Elana or basically Tenchi’s Ryoko and Ayeka).Enjoyed the scenery, don’t recall the gameplay too strongly, but that didn’t stop me from beating it.I give it 4 stars overall because remembering this game gives me a sense of euphoria and quaintness, which are two things a game should always leave you with.But I wish I didn’t beat it.The ending was terrible.MILLENIA: I think I see what I have to do now.(Sprouts wings)ELANA: What…about me?MILLENIA: Don’t you get it by now?ELANA: Of…of course (sprouts wings).That’s around the point I was a bit sad.That’s just as bad as the cheesy ending in Jade Coccoon.

I thought Grandia was a blast, but Grandia 2 proves the same fun as the first one. The main characer is a hoot, and the other characters are just as enjoyable.I enjoyed the mana egg system in this game, instead of running around looking for them, like you did in the first game, you get one that you can power up and learn new spells. :DThe story is great, it’s dinamic and keeps you in tune with the game. The theme around it was unique too, making this game the best, so far, in the series!With a dinamic story, rememberable characters, and fun magic,talents,abilities level up system this game is sure to be a wonderful sucessor to Grandia.

I think this game is Great! I bought it [inexpensively] at a store after looking at it for a couple of monthes. Although the graphics aren’t that great for a PS2 game, the battles, spells, and storyline rock! I usually buy a lot of games that I don’t beat, but i can be proud to say i beat this one! It’s different from most RPGs because of the battle system. You will tell your characters what to do, but its more then just attack, magic, item. You have to choose if you want to use a really strong attack that hits once, or a lesser attack that hits twice. You choose according to a sort of timer done at the bottom. It sounds very complicated, but if I can figure it out you can!! Get this game! It’s great!!
