  1. Rafael Bandeira

Kids on Bikes has an exciting and fun atmosphere, and a simple and well-developed system. The method of setting the scenario is collaborative, making it even more interesting for everyone who plays. Perfect for Goonies, Scooby Doo or Stranger Things style adventures, ! It’s lovely!

  2. Ms B

RPG with the feel of 80s. Like my childhood and Stranger Things rolled into one.

  3. Mighty Max

Looks like a solid system. Plenty of pdf resources such as character sheets online. Only complaint is well… It is much smaller both in reading length and book height than I’d expected. It seems solid even being small though.

TL;DR = Don’t buy this.A small note: I bought this in pdf format for $10 from another website. And I feel ripped off. I would’ve been irritated beyond belief if I paid double for a hard copy. This book is basically a what-if-you-were-the-kids-in-The-Goonies light-rpg. Several pics look like they are renditions of Goonies movie shots. This book is 70-something pages and the rules are about 6-ish pages. The rest is artwork (which is kind of cool, but not buy this book cool) and endless examples. If you have ever played an rpg and you were ever 10-yrs-old you can figure out how to DM this at your kitchen table with kids, friends, etc gathered around. There is not really any game to speak of here. Just 70+ pages of yammering sprinkled with artwork. Probably the most irritating part is the examples where everybody has to role play a special snowflake. Can’t really be a “kid on a bike” if you are blind and in a wheelchair, riddled with polio with severe mental health issues that make people think you have cerebral palsy. Apologies to anyone offended by that statement. The developers don’t believe in just being a kid playing a game I guess. If you happen to actually be blind, wheelchair bound, etc then by all means play that character if you like. You might say that it’s the same as playing an elf in D&D. No, no it isn’t. Elves are not real. That is why people enjoy being them in a fictional game. Blind people are and reality isn’t fun to play. I get up everyday and play reality.

  5. Joseph Torres

My specific issues with it boil down to the sections discussing roleplaying etiquette (like session 0, don’t be a jerk, make sure you know your friends are cool before you do certain things, etc) and roleplaying different genders and (human) races and such, kinda struck me as smacking of regressive identitarian politics. It even contains a reference to “privilege” at one point as something you could list in your backpack (their term for the character inventory list).

  6. SkylaBarrows

This is a great book! If you’ve wanted to run a low level real world game, this is it!

  7. Kindle Customer

I saw this game being played on YouTube, Kollok 1991 (prelude should be the one to start with first) and I have wanted it since episode 4. Just reading it seemed cool to play and I plan on playing it really soon.

  8. Brea W.

Great idea! Looks super fun to play. And book was good price!

  9. Mel

Husband purchased a copy at a local game store & I got the dice (b/c I collect dice, not b/c they’re necessary). After flipping through it, I was so entranced and excited that, while I’d rather play it, I decided to run it as GM to make it happen. I don’t want to spend TOO much time buried nostalgia, but I think it will be fun. I got my copy of the book as a PDF for $10 from DriveThruRPG (official/legit).

  10. Maxtax

The system is rules light and very new RPG player friendly. You get to create the town you play in and all have a hand in creating and playing the powered character, if you choose. A really nice open ended system in a setting before technology took over and sucked a lot of the mystery out of our childhood. Lot’s of options for character creation too.
