It’s a ton of fun, and fun to do career mode and go from early to recent times.Unfortunatly the early stuff isn’t as much fun because power chord mashing is more fun on a real guitar than on a RB guitar. IMO guitar gets more fun from american idiot on. Drums are definetly tough, and my own goal is to get them all done on expert and be as good as tre…I would’ve liked to see some songs from kerpluk or smoothed out, but I imagine it has something to do with ownership rights as they were on lookout.
The Rock Band franchise is an excellent set of games for the X-Box 360. I have Rock Band 2, 3 and The Beatles titles, plus the guitar, the drums, the mike and the keyboards. My 12 year old daughter loves Green Day, so I bought it for her. I am not a fan of GD, so I don’t enjoy as much as her when we play, and that’s the reason I give the game 4 stars instead of 5, and only 3 stars for the fun. Otherwise, my daughter’s had a blast with the game, even playing solo, when she only sings the songs, and tries to score big following the lyrics and tones of the songs. If my daughter did this review, she would certainly give it, at least 4.5 stars in both ratings, because she likes it very much, as the Green Day fan that she is.So, if you’re a fan of RockBand and also a fan of Green Day, this is the title for you. For sure, you won’t be dissappointed.
I always have been and always will be a Green Day fan, however this game didn’t not live up to the expectations set up by Rock Band after the Beatles Rock Band had been released previously. This particular game seems to almost be rushed together only so that it would be put out before the Music gaming craze wears off, but what time can not equal to is quality. That being said, the set list was amazing. Naturally having Dookie be my favorite album and American Idiot be my 2nd, all the popular songs are. There are also some Nimrod, Insomniac, and Warning songs thrown in for the hardcore fans. Although there may have been too many songs off of 21st Century Breakdown, instead of taking more of their “International Superhits”, the set list is still strong. The game could have improved in many areas such as more venues, music videos, or maybe even some DLC character costumes or guitars but the game is none the less good.
It’s good to pretend you’re one of the band members once in a while.I just hate how you have to buy the whole 21st century album in order to complete the set.Other than that, it arrived on time.
Includes the majority of the Green Day track collection from the 2000s up to 21st Century Breakdown as well as a few earlier jewels. Unless you plan to only use the game by itself for achievements or local parties, I highly advise buying it new. This way you can export the tracks for use in Rock Band 2 and 3 (the latter including harmonies i.e. 3 microphone vocals) and not have to try your chances with a potentially used code. With the previous generation and all its peripherals fading into disuse, it’ll save you having to switch discs every time you want to play different bands as well.

It only has Nice Guys Finish Last, Hitchen a Ride, and (Good Ridance) T.O.Y.L from Nimrod (Doesn’t have King for a Day).It has Warning and Minority from Warning. No 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, Kerplunk, or Shenanigans.It has all of American Idiot and most of 21st Century Breakdown.Bottom line: If you’re a fan of the older Green Day, you may be slightly disappointed. This game is really fun, the interviews and bonus stuff is cool. Even though there are missing songs, be happy there even is a Green Day Rock band game. Fans of other bands are not so lucky.

While there’s not much new here for those familiar with the recent Rock Band games, Green Day fans will certainly like this game. However, like other band-specific RB games (e.g. Beatles), you only get about half of the popular song’s you expect…and you get to buy the rest from the marketplace at around two bucks each.

I’m a Green Day fan and I love this game. I don’t like that you have to spend an additional $9.99 to transfer the songs to the regular Rock Band game. I am also disappointed that there are no songs from Kerplunk. But all-in-all… I love it. Seems a little easier than regular Rock Band 2 because I have already gold-starred all of the songs.

I loved it! It has lots of Green Day Songs, and it allowed me to export them to Rock Band 2 to play so that I do not have to change discs! The animation is great, and overall the product was more than satisfying. I definitely got my money’s worth out of this product.

I play this with my Rock Band 2 set and it’s really great. It was all of my favorite songs from American Idiot on it, along with some of Green Day’s older stuff. Lots of fun to play with friends, or even by yourself if you just want to rock out to Green Day. Highly recommend it!

Green Day: Rock Band is amazing! You can play in quickplay, career or training. In quickplay you can play any of the 47 song that come in the came. And you can make a setlist of your favorite Green Day songs. And, if you have the money, you can buy more songs in the store from Rockband, Rockband 2 or Rockband 3! We play this game all the time and plan on playing it more in the future. My uncle loves karaoke and we think he would love playing this game over Christmas! In career, you can play as Billie Joe, Mike Dirnt or Tré Cool. You can play in three different years, 1994, 2005 and 2009. All at different places. If you play one setlist, then you unlock another, then another and so on. And in training, you can practice their best parts from songs and you can practice your solos and such. Overall I love this game and I think you should get it if your interested in it.
