9/10/2008I purchased the PSP several months back, and I have to say I really enjoy it. I can’t complain about the number of titles for it… it has the titles I’m interested in, and that’s what counts. Over all, the graphics and sound are outstanding. I haven’t played with the other features much, but it’s nice to know they’re there. My only complaints are small… The battery life is a bit short (but I usually play at home, so no real bother for me…) Also, this is a new model, which is smaller than the old. Unfortunately there are several nice accessories still available for the old PSP, but they won’t fit this one. So it’s buyer-beware when shopping for these.Update: 10/2/2009So, I’m still rocking the same PSP, and it’s still working like a champ. Over the past year, I’ve gotten a little more aware of the capabilities of this little system. It truly is a powerhouse! Granted you won’t be using it for regular web browsing, the internet capabilities are still quite nice to have. Mostly for firmware upgrades and downloadable content from the PlayStation Store. Downloading the games has 2 advantages: Longer battery life, and fewer things to carry around (an 8GB memory stick holds at least 8 games…) Sony was even kind enough to start releasing old PS1 games for download. I’m currently playing through FFVII. As far as the multimedia capabilities go, I still use my laptop for watching DVDs on the road, and my MP3 player for music. This system is simply too sm.

I got this system for Christmas and it works perfectly! It did come with Japanese instructions but it’s easy to find English instructions. Was nicely packaged, charger was in working condition and no scratches. Still learning how to use but very proud of this product. Very excited to play games from different countries because it is not region locked! But you must buy a memory stick or you can’t save anything. Great product!

I ordered the black one and to my surprise I got a red one. =]It charges, plays games, minimal scratches and I’m very satisfied with the system and the shop.

My husband loves it still working great

I love this PSP. It’s way better than my PSP1000. It’s lighter, smaller and more portable than my PSP1000. This is a great system with tons of playable games, watchable movies and listenable device. It has a nice crystal clear LCD screen, ergonomic design and overall media center device. It can connect to Wifi and browse the internet with decent speed. The best part about this system are the games. There’s tons of games to chose from, from different genre and categories. It an amazing little device with tons of great features.

I got the PSP about one month ago. When I received it the battery cover was broken. Sony actually wanted me to send the entire unit back to them so they could determine if the damage was caused by the system being dropped (which it has not been). They also informed me that if not it would cost $90 to “repair” (a clear assumption of my guild rather than belief that they could actually have a defective plastic case). Eventually, I just went to a local game store and purchased a double sized battery, which comes with it’s own battery cover, and kit to make the original battery fit in the new cover and a add-on which makes both sides of the PSP even, despite the protrusion of the new battery cover.Aside with how ridiculous Sony is with resolving problems for new customers, this system is the most impressive portable gaming device I have seen. Like the Nintendo DS, it aspires to be more than just a gaming system with built in 802.11b/g Wi-Fi support, MP3 support, movie support, and even a picture viewer. It incorporates the use of the Memory Stick Duo, which is used in many other Sony products. The screen size it the exact proportions of a movie theater and the brightness and color is better than any competing system. The firmware, which runs the system, can be updated via memory card, UMD (games/movies), or the internet, ensuring the system has the latest features, no matter when the system was made or purchased. The newest version of the firmware even supports Skype int.

I gave my nephew my older PSP and bought the PSP 2000 for the external display capability. The battery does not last as long and the media drive does not seem as sturdy. My old PSP had the same hook up for TV out but no software to run it from the upgrades from Sony.I don’t know if it is a gimmick to force upgrading or what Sony is doing? I do not know if the old PSP had the internal components for TV out either but the jack for the cable was all there?I would have preferred the old one with a TV out instead. The screen does not look any brighter, grant you my old PSP was at least second generation for that model.

I ordered this product used-good from the Terry-Bean store. The PSP itself seems to be running fine and dandy, no complaints about it. The one thing that got on my nerves a bit was the battery it came with. I’d charge it for say 10 minutes and it would completely shut down and id have to take the battery out and put it back in. I searched up the battery on this site and it only got 2 12 stars. Now I have to spend more money on a new battery.
