Made by 343 industries, this is the newest halo, but not quite like the others. Reach had the really exciting music that you knew was playing and fit the action, this does not. They do have new weapons and a new enemy, and the flood is not in the game except in dialog. It plays like halo, and is not a bad game, on legendary on my first playthrough, it took about a week solo. I was playing slow to get every single player achievement. It is interesting, and if you like halo, you should buy it, especially if you have the others in the series. For a first effort by 343i, it is good and went in a few new directions, but it plays like halo and if you need your halo fix, this will give it to you. There is a new part called spartan ops that you can play co-op or solo which you have to download, but it is free and will add hours of playing so it is definitely worth the money.

First of most people probably stopped playing Halo after Halo 2 came out if they know what good games are. The problem with Halo 4 is it almost is Halo 4’s "recovery" to it’s "relapse". This game came out and blew all expectations out of the water. I’m one of those guy’s who doesnt play for the campaign so if that’s you then you may feel otherwise. As far as online goes, this feels like a mix of the Halo I’ve been missing mixed with Call of Duty (Spoiler Alert: Care packages, perks, ECT.) The Multiplayer is fast, they upgraded certain aspects such as joining games while in progress, and added small simple things like an extra rifle for games that get a little repetitive after a while like SWAT. If you loved Halo 1 and 2 you will love this game and if you fell off after Halo 3, ODST, Reach, ETC then GET BACK ONLINE!!!!

The graphics are great, cept master chief’s armor looks different, which makes no sense storyline wise. The Story is very anime-ish, it feels like a Halo fan-fiction instead of a Halo video game. It has some really cool moments but most of the game you’ll be scratching your head and wondering where all the fun went.Very Retcon-ny, and does a poor job of incorporating the story from earlier games.Controls are tight and multiplayer, though very differently organized, plays the same as Reach. Though I didn’t like the overly complex customization in reach and its back but worse in this game. Non of the multiplayer armors look like spartans. Everything is just a jumbled mash of metal and glass. Lacks the artfulness of Halo 3’s simple armor permutations. The stupid Cr currency is gone, thank goodness.Strange side note: Nearly every sound effect is different. While the sounds varied from game to game, the guns and vehicles do not sound at all like they did before. In my opinion this hurts the game as it makes it feel farther removed from the original halo games. Conclusion:If you liked Reach more than Halo 3 and Halo 2, you’ll like this game. Unfortunately, I didn’t really like reach. However, this game is still king when it comes to tight gameplay and addicting gametypes. If you buy for story, you might be disappointed, but those buying for the multiplayer only with be satisfied.

This review is not on the game itself as if you are not familiar with the halo franchise then you will probably need to start somewhere around halo 3.Anyway, after purchasing the game was quickly delivered. retrolio is always great on fast delivery. I chose the 7-10 day free delivery and I got the game within 5 days. The game has 2 disks, 1 for single player and 1 for multi-player which you need to install and use the single player disk to play. The case I got was broken. The latch inside the case that hold the 2nd disk was broken off and hanging when I opened the disk. Nothing like an impressive first view (right?). Anyway, the disk did not get scratched up thankfully.Game also comes with a 14 day XBL trial account.Overall experience with the purchase was not bad as I am not going to be looking at the case much anyway so if it breaks oh well.

There are a couple hundred reviews that go into the fine details of the game, so I won’t bore anybody with more. I’ll just say that I’ve been a Halo fan since the beginning, it was the reason I chose the Xbox over PS2, and can honestly say this is the best Halo yet. Between being deployed to Afghanistan, the mediocre reviews on here and being let down with Reach, I held off on buying this until a couple weeks ago. The graphics are simply amazing; as crisp and beautiful as any game I’ve seen on a console. I’m not a big online or multiplayer fan, I buy simply for the campaign modes and this is wonderful, a bit short, but awesome. If you are a Halo fan, buy this, you will not regret it it for a second.

I haven’t been a fan of the Halo franchise since the first game. Microsoft made a good choice in going with a new developer. The game plays much more like Call of Duty or Battlefield than any of the others. The way the guns feel and sound resembles call of duty instead of halo 2. Sprinting is no longer a perk and instead you can sprint just like you would in other shooters (with limits). In multiplayer you unlock perks by ranking up as well as completing challenges (for example get 500 melee kills and get a new helmet). It has the standard 5 customizable load-out system of most other games in the genre, including armor abilities (like jet packs), combat abilities (like fast reloading) and choice of grenades. I play this for the multiplayer aspect. The story wasn’t anything special. I’m assuming you also have to read the books or know the story for it to make sense. It seemed like there was a lot of unexplained stuff even for those who played all the other games.

This game was fun, but not perfect, like all the Halo games. My favorite part of Halo is the story! I have played all the games, read all the books multiple times, own the encyclopedia, and I was even involved in the awesome I LOVE BEES alternate reality game for Halo 2.The story in this game I found to be kind of random. It doesn’t seem to fully fit in or feel part of the rest of the Halo experience. I liked the beginning and the end of the game, but not soo much the middle. The same is true for the story of this game.If you are a Halo nut like me, then get it. If not then just rent it.

While I’m not a supporter of the Chief/Cortana relationship… it’s not out of character for Chief or improbable so I enjoyed it. It’s not mushy, and I don’t mind following it through the game. All in all it’s a wonderful story tying into the past present and future of the Halo universe. The game is beautiful. The story is as well. Some tiny corners were cut (weapons are basically the same in function of other weapons just with a different skin and lasers instead of bullets) but all in all it’s amazing.I have loved this game since it’s beginning and in the hands of 343 Industries it will continue to hold my heart. I’m currently working on beating it on Legendary difficulty… masochistic fun!

I loved the artwork, the universe, the characters weren’t too bad. Story was a little too simple (bad guys comes out you defeat him). So all the non-gameplay related items were mostly solid. The gameplay was more halo. Level design was more linear then previous. I felt like the whole game was cortana telling me to press buttons. It seemed like there was more thought to make all the factions have equal footing, so everyone had the equivalent of "battle rifle, pistol, assualt rifle, sniper". All looked different and slightly different ammo amounts, but more or less the same. This is fine but could be better with more differences.Enemies were pretty lame I thought. The knight was crazy-tough and there was just too many of the crawlers. Almost 2/3rds of the game is just crawlers, knights, and the flying ones. None were well explained. The spartan ops was just terrible. I hope it was an afterthought that was thrown together. I like the videos that tell more about the universe, but the missions at least in week 1 were horrible. They were bad enough to be entertaining. We played through them by just dying over and over, which there is no penalties and respawning while enemies around is no problem. It was disgiused as some kind of story drivin mini-missions, but it wasn’t. "Go kill everyone around this zone" or "Go to this place and kill all everyone." Farming guns in borderlands (fighting the same boss dozens of times) is less repetitive.I hope they turn things.

My first Halo game was Halo 3: ODST. I first played I when a friend came over and showed it to me. I was astounded. I had heard Halo was good, but not this good. Since then I’ve played Wars, Reach, and the Anniversary Edition. I have to say the best out of those three was Reach. With its stellar campaign and it’s chaotic multiplayer, I thought Halo 4 would have a hard time beating it. I was wrong, very, very wrong.Halo 4 exceeds all expectations and shatters my idea of a good game. It combines the most emotional story of the Halo series, the best graphics that have been seen to this very day, and exciting new changes to multiplayer, to create the best Halo game that I have ever played, heck the best game I’ve played to date, which Borderlands 2 had the honor of being before. You hear this a lot, but Halo 4 is really Cortana’s story. You see, after 7 years an AI becomes rampant. It’s been 8. When an AI becomes Rampant, it literally thinks itself to death. So you can imagine how Cortana feels. Your main mission, throughout the story is to get Cortana to Dr. Halsey so she can be fixed. This goes hand-in-hand with defeating the Didact and getting Infinity off of Requeim. The Promethean enemies are so much fun to fight. I wonder how I stood fighting these Covenant after fighting the Prometheans. The new enemies are tactically smart, and aren’t anything like the Covenant. For spoiler related reasons, I will move onto the robust, new multiplayer. Multiplayer is less vehicle based, an.
