Worked great when we first bought it but then quit working a few months after our purchase. Not sure if it was the game or our system.

My kids wanted a racing game because they’d seen me playing my own racing game, so I was excited when I found this one. It took them a little while to get the hang of the game, but they figured it out pretty quickly and now they love playing it. The controllers were a little hard to work with, so I bought them a steering wheel, which helped tremendously. They’ve been playing for a while and they haven’t even made a dent in this game. They never get bored with it, so that’s a plus!

XBOX 360 ARCADE DEMO AVAILABLE FOR FREE: Before my review, I wanted to make it clear that Xbox live Arcade has a free demo available for download that allows to to play a race, and another “boost” game mode on a different track as Sonic. Why read the reviews when you can give it a try yourself? (The final product’s menu screens appear more polished looking in the final product. Also, there was one case in the demo I finished first on that hard setting and the next screen said I finished 2nd… I have not seen such a glitch in the real game.)FYI, BONUS CONTENT INCLUDES: Download code for: Outrun Bay track + Challenges and Time Trials, Metal Sonic & Transforming vehicle + Metal Sonic Mod Pack, Stickers for your in-game driver’s license.POSSIBLY RELEVANT BACKGROUND INFO: I discovered this game by chance – and upon discovery, was very excited being a former Mario Kart and Sonic player. I’m 27 years old, and my Mario Kart experience ended after N64 (with some Wii play at friends sporadically). After having seen the first Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing game was such a success, and couldn’t find a single negative review on this game (except by some Nintendo magazine…which was obviously biased), I immediately ordered two copies (one for a buddy/his wife). It’s unfortunate I never knew the first game existed – and I wasn’t willing to try it out considering it’s priced higher currently (360 version) and this game is two years newer, and improved in nearly every way from wh.

I bought this for my son. I’m going to assume that he enjoyed since he played it every day for a week straight clearing all of the boards.

I wanted something akin to Mario Kart to play on My Xbox One X, so I ordered this hoping it would at least be a playable clone. In my opinion, it actually competes fairly well with the ‘Kart franchise, and is a blast to play. It heavily borrows some elements, while introducing enough new concepts to (almost) have its own identity. While you can tell it’s an Xbox 360 game, the graphics hold up well and the performance and load times are fine. Getting multiple accounts signed in is a little bit of a hassle, as is figuring out how to change settings for that player (must be in a race), but it’s not too bad with a quick Google search. I don’t feel like it benefits much from the extra horsepower, but overall it’s a good experience… I had one lock up in 10 or so hours of playing, otherwise it’s been rock solid. There’s plenty of content and play modes, lots to unlock, and it’s very accessible. On the easy difficulty you can get by with limited racing/kart experience and without having to drift or aim that well, and at higher difficulty you can showcase your skills (or get punished for drifting off course hehe). The characters have a progression element although it’s not hard to level them up, and once you have you can prioritize speed, handling, acceleration, etc. It’s not overly deep, but adds a nice element of customization if your favorite character is too slow by default. I’ve mostly been playing split screen, haven’t tried 4 player yet, but 2 works just fine. The different ve.

Fun game. Lost one star because the little clip that holds the game in the case was broke so it was sliding around in there. Game played fine though so not a big deal.

Great alternative to Mario cart for Xbox. Best of all it works on 360 and Xbox one.

Fun game for the whole family. Good for 4/5 years or older. My 4 does have a hard time controlling the turn because the game changes from land to air to water, it’s just how the game play is.Graphics is okay, game control is not bad. Kids friendly, with many characters to pick from. Overall animation is great. If the game senses that a player is struggling with certain aspect of the game, such as turning, it will suggest a guiding line for the player. This game is a good alternative to Mario Kart. You can do 4 players split screen.

This game is very entertaining. You can play 4 player on on Xbox 360, in split screen. There might be a bit of screen degradation, to display 4 player split screen, but play back is still silky smooth. Very nice implementation of the Cryware Engine.Maps are all inventive and colorful. My 7 y.o. loves playing it, and can play it without any problems and comes in first almost always on the easy setting, and can place first a lot of times on the medium setting, and can sometimes place in the top 3 on hard, so the difficulty settings are good for those with novice skills. I play with her quite often, and enjoy the heck out of the game. We have played at least 4 hours in the title, and just scratched the surface of the title, with plenty of characters to unlock and a bunch of maps, characters and modes left to unlock. (I think the game has 10 characters unlocked by default with 9 or 10 left to unlock in the game) I look forward to seeing what else this title has to offer. I think Sega is planning more DLC for it as well. Sega gifted Alex Kidd on Christmas day. I’d love to see Vanellope von Schweetz as a DLC character.A couple of things of note for ease of access to the game. The controls for flying were very difficult for my 7 year old, and not too easy for me frankly. The game detects if you are having difficulty flying and offers to invert the controls, and offer flying aids, which makes it much more accessible for a younger gamer, and even myself, not to become to fru.

This game is an absolute joy. I have been a fan of the Mario Kart games since I was a little kid playing on the SNES, and I can honestly say that Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed makes the MK games seem like the racing game equivalent of plain yogurt. The flying areas are especially impressive, and they seem like the fulfillment of mid-90s gamer fantasies of how 3D racing games would one day be. That may seem like an odd way to describe it, but I have simply never played a racing game that made me say "Wow!" the way this one does. The beautiful level designs and sense of speed make me physically twist and turn in my seat as I try to urge my vehicle in the right direction, and I’ve never done that with a game before. There is a ton of racing to do here, with numerous tracks and characters to unlock. Easy difficulties are suitable for players of any age and experience, while the highest degree of difficulty will challenge even veteran racers. For edge-of-the-seat excitement and bloodshot-eye intensity, I have never played a game that gave me a more rewarding experience. Forza-like simulations, arcade racers, and other cart racers all WISH they could be this exciting. The only downside to Sonic Racing Transformed is the presence of some nasty sticking points in the levels. There is nothing worse than being inexplicably caught on a wall or obstacle and unable to free yourself while the competition roars past. This can often be avoided once you’ve gained familiarity wi.
