I think history channel games are great to play and to me this his really a good one if you are into history. It could be a little longer but even so I would still recommend this game to anyone.

  2. Stephanie

My 10 year old son loves this!

  3. venomfreak

I just got this game a couple days ago, and played for hours. The graphics are poor , but you could have your kids play it to learn more about this tragic war!

  4. S. H. Wells

The History Channel’s Civil War: Secret missions is their second Civil War video game. If you played the first (A Nation Divided) you will notice many improvements, especially in AI soldiers. AI infantry ducks and covers, avoids being shot at much better than in the first. Otherwise the perameters are similar: levels involve clearing enemies and destroying targets. There is a gatling gun and naval mission.Overall the missions are longer than the first Civil War game, but it keeps much of the flavor of the original. Secret Missions places you in some of the most important and pivotal moments of the Civil War and in a way that few games can realize, makes you get up and close with your opponents because your weapons have limited range, limited ammo, and relatively long reload times. It must have been a brutal war.Of course there would be SO MUCH MORE that could be done with the game. I can only imagine larger battlefields if there were a multiplayer (you and buddies to practice volley firing, charging en masse with bayonets), but alas this is not possible. This is enjoyable afternoon on easy and can be quite a challenge on higher levels. Anyone with connections over at History Channel, let them know: the game is a blast but multiplayer would have made it possible to truly re-create some of the greatest moments of the Civil War (Third installment please????)

  5. Samantha Stone

My son is a big Civil War buff so I bought this for his 16th birthday. He loves the game and can barely be pulled away from it!

  6. Brett Woodis

I love this old school fps game as it has some great history mixed in wtih some of the key elements of the civil war and things I didn’t know to be true. The game has some great character narratives.

  7. Ity7788

This is a great game if you’re looking to spend time with your mature teenage son. Its graphics are great. The challenges are fantastic. They are history buffs so they love that it has everything set to the civil war including the weapons and uniforms.

  8. JoJo

Bought this for my son in law for Christmas! It was a PRIORITY on his “Wish List” :) He’s been enjoying it whenever he has extra time to play! He’s a History buff! Anyone that likes History would enjoy this too :) Money well spent!!

  9. Big Mike B

This games surprised me very well. You are taught alot about the batttles of the civil war during your time in school as a child, but this game had historical information that I never heard about. I always heard about the major points of all the epic battles (Gettysburg, Pickets charge, etc) but this game showed me those not so glorified (secret) missions that were just as important as the main battle that took place. I highly recommend this game to any school aged child who is studying the Civil War.
