The console works great. No problems. Only comes with 1 controller.

Ahhhhh It works flawlessly! With the SD2SNES, normal SNES games, NES games, multiple NES games in 1 cartridge, original SNES controllers and third party cord extensions. The only thing I would like is the ability to plug my NES controllers into it too but it doesn’t take anything out of the experience.

Bought this for my nephew who started getting into super mario old school games and it works great!! He loves it!! 😠its s a little lighter wieght than i would have liked but plays all the old nitendo games and has had no problem with it.

I bought this to play some old games like Double Dribble and Jordan vs Bird. I would recommend getting a better controller though which I did. I had fun with it and I never had any issues with it playing nes and snes games. I had fun playing the games from my youth. For me the trip down memory lane didn’t last taht long because I got bored.

This is primarily a review left for those who are having video issues. This unit has the standard yellow/red/white output. Most of the new hd tvs will not work well with a lot of these retro-type video consoles which really isn’t much of a problem since most new tvs only have ONE rca type input. You have two choices 1) you can use a simple ch 3/4 modulator. The problem I encountered with using one of these was that when the game is switching from one screen to another it briefly (micro-second) interrupts the video signal which will cause the modulator to turn off for a moment and then come back on. This can be very annoying. 2) what I ended up using was a UHF modulator. The reason being that it stays on all the time even when the video signal drops out momentarily.Hope this helps. Feel free to comment if you have any questions.

I’m so glad I can share older games from my childhood with my daughter! We play it for hours! It plays flawlessly. The picture is great, even on my 55 inch 4K UHD television. I thought it’d look bad since it connects using the AV connection (red, white, and yellow cords) instead of HDMI, but it’s a great picture. Of course, it’s not HD but it’s still a great picture. The games play wonderfully on it so far. I hope they continue to do so for many years to come. Beware, you’ll need an NES to SNES adapter to use the Zapper also known as the light gun used for Duck Hunt.P.S. This was one of a couple Valentines Day gifts for my wife from me (and to myself too 🙃) she loves it because of the great memories that come flooding back.

I originally purchased the original nintendo from a game shop. After a few months, my son started to have trouble with the old system and also wanted to play with a new version of nintendo so that is when we found the Retro duo that plays more than one kind of game.He is very happy with the system and we have had no problems with it at all. However, it doesn’t play the original mario/duckhunt game so we have to trade that one in for the other version. Other than that we are satisfied.

Love the ease of use and the affordability of this product to play old school NES & SNES. Cartridges tend to stick in the SNES slot and we really have to muscle them out of there. It concerns me because the grinding sound when forcefully pulling the cartridges out makes me worry the connectors on the cartridges will get damaged. No complaints about the NES side.

I found Retro Duo to be utterly fantastic! I never owned an original NES or SNES, so perhaps I am oblivious to the quality of those consoles, but this is certainly not cheaply made. Not having the original consoles to compare the Retro Duo with is unfortunate, but I think the clone’s quality is outstanding. What to expect:First off, it is very light. Games, controllers, and other accessories surprisingly weigh more than the Retro Duo. This means you have to hold down the console to remove games.Secondly, it will not play every game. Since the NES port is a top-loader, it will play Famicom games and just about every other game as far as I know. However, there are 7 or so games that will not work on the SNES. The games that won’t work are mostly unpopular or rare games, but include one of the Kirby games and Super Mario RPG.Third and finally, the controllers that come with the Retro Duo are of poor quality. The buttons all work fine, but the D-pad is cheap, so hitting one direction will most likely result in two directions being performed. I found this to be a problem with Mario and Castlevania games, as sometimes you need to duck to evade enemies. This problem is not as bad as it sounds, as the Retro Duo is compatible with every SNES controller! In addition to getting a Super Advantage, which I’d also recommend, I found 2 third-party controllers here on retrolio for about 8 bucks. While they are not as heavy or have the same quality as original SNES controllers, I no longer have.

Awesome system plays Nintendo and Super Nintendo games just like it’s suppose to. It is compact and the controllers are good for what they are. For the price it is a great deal.
