dude this game isnt bad. It is pretty fun, actually, well at anyrate the controls arent great. Yes they should have included analog controls, but its not that bad once you get used to the motion sensing. But hey the graphics are amazing and the story is not half bad so far. If you dont have disposable income you may want to rent it first though. And for this game to get lower ratings than Madden 08 is a travesty THAT is a truly bad game.

Wow. I was shocked at how great this game was. You can easily get a copy of this game for under $10 and it is entirely worth it. I actually just got done playing it. I will admit, this game is rather short. It took me less than a day to complete it. The controls take a little bit to get used to, since all gaming is using dependent on movement with the joysticks. I found myself many times, instinctively trying to use the joysticks in tough situations, which would make me more confused than anything and cause me to yell out a few expletives. Once you get a hang of it though, it’s just great. I mean, you get to ride a dragon the entire game, and that’s just awesome. The real strong point of this game is the storyline and music. I feel like it’s an alternate dimension Lord of the Rings in a way. It helps the music sounds like Lord of the Rings music. Even at times, I feel the game resembles Star Wars, even if it is a fantasy game. I mean, there are times when you have to take down these giant beasts like AT-AT Walkers, so that helps. In regards to music, it really drives the whole story. It’s entirely symphonic and orchestral. A cool thing they did is in the Extras section where you can go to a section called “Concert Hall” and listen to 57 different tracks featured in the game. Awesome.Replay value? Well, once you beat the game, the Stables are available on all the other levels, meaning you can play the story again, but with different dragons. The main storyline dragons are a mix.

LAIR was a game that kept catching my eye, but I repeatedly shook off buying it due to the poor critic reviews. Finally, I decided to trust my instincts and give it a try. I was not disappointed; the story is intriguing, the graphics are excellent, the music is awesome, and I enjoy the control scheme. I really don’t see where all the negative review scores have come from. This game deserves plenty of positive recognition. I did not even realize how intricate the PS3 controller was until I played this game. The complaints I have about LAIR are very minor. I really wished it was a little longer. The targeting system on the controls needs some refining, but this did not hamper my enjoyment. There were some drops in frame-rate with some of the effects in the game.If you have been on the fence about LAIR, definitely go get it. If you like innovative games, definitely pick this up.

even though the game got bad reviews, this game has been patched and now works great. it kinda of reminds of the game Ryse out on xbone. OFC the graphics are not as good as RYSE, but possibly warrants one play through.

Simply put, see what the people have to say that have played and beaten this game, not the reviewers. The controls are very intuitive and pretty easy to learn, and once you do, this game is just plain fun.

I have read a LOT of negative reviews of this game, and was worried that it would end up being a big disappointment for me. I have looked forward to it ever since I first heard of it almost a year ago. Many have said that the motion sensor controls are “horrible”, “abysmal”, “torturous” etc. If you want a game to just open up and begin to fully enjoy without any practice, you had better look elsewhere. However, if you don’t mind going to the practice area to hone your skills, you will enjoy this game. I find that the motion sense controls add a certain freedom of movement that you can’t get using the thumbsticks. Yes, it did take me a little while to get used to, and I had to go to the training section to practice certain skills, but each time I play, I get better and better at controlling my dragon. If you want to get the gold medals, you will find yourself replaying each mission, hopefully improving with each repeat. But if you just want to play the game, then you can just play right through the entire story. Perhaps the designers might have considered that some people just don’t like the motion control, and therefore should have offered the user to decide which controls to use. If you are unsure of whether or not you will like these controls, I would suggest renting before buying. However, if you are like me and have been waiting for a good game to come out on the PS3 that makes full use of the motion sensor capabilities, then I would suggest giving Lair a try..

I enjoy shooters and action games where precision is key; however, sometimes you need a rest from the clichés of those genres: Lair provides just that. Although many have criticized the motion control scheme, Lair uses it to great effect. From the second you pick up the controller and start turning it, the dragon will immediately react. You get the feeling that you’re piloting a massive beast. Last time I checked, dragons aren’t considered high-precision military aircraft, so I don’t understand why people are complaining that the dragons in this game don’t turn on a dime. The levels are epic in scale, so the design has taken this fact into account. Lair has insane production values, and the music, sound effects, graphics, etc. will blow you away. The lock-on system certainly isn’t perfect, but I’ve played games with far worse implementations of this mechanic. In short, Lair is a unique and pleasant departure from the shooter-heavy lineup of this holiday season and the foreseeable future. Just realize this game isn’t for everyone. Some people would rather stay on the ground.

I’ve read a lot of reviews about this game before buying it. Everyone says the controls are hard and slow. Also that in game play is very difficult. Only thing I did not like was that the targeting system was completely weird and random. The controls are pretty basic; tilt control up, dragon goes up, tilt down, dragon dives… Etc. I believe how everyone sees it as slow is that the game uses real physics, so it doesn’t just turn on a dime or stays arrow straight. I played the game and finished in approx 2 1/2 weeks. It’s kinda short but the tasks are difficult and challenging. For people looking for a challenge then this is the game you want to play. There are multiple ways to fight with the dragon, air or ground; the main way though is air. There is a practice trial where you can practice your skills in flight and fighting any time. (Helps a lot). Any questions just comment.
