I gave it 5 stars because it does what it’s supposed to, but I do have a lot of issues. It won’t always come through on my TV screen. It turns on, and I know it’s on because once it finally shows up on my screen, it’ll already be playing…

First of all, I’m not a gamer- never was. But I grew up playing NES, SNES, and Genesis games. I have kids of my own now and they love the Xbox One and PS4. Don’t get me wrong, those systems are amazing, but I have a hard time playing them. I found some of my old game cartridges and systems in a recent move and busted them out again. Man, you just can’t beat the nostalgia of 1980’s and 1990’s technology. Sure, you can buy the NES “classic” mini systems with games preloaded, but 80% of those games I never played and you can’t add your favorites without a programming degree. Then I stumbled across this…You can play your old favorites. Don’t have them anymore? Find them online- many are still under $20! It’s nice having an old cartridge in your hand and not some downloaded crap. The best part is, this hooks up via an HDMI cable so it installs on all your modern TVs without adapters! We put the Xbox in the basement for the kids, and my wife and I spend the evenings laughing and playing Super Mario all night, while the kids play Fortnight and Minecraft in the basement with their friends. We have adults over for drinks and we all end up playing old NES or SNES or Sega games. Honesty, its worth it’s price in gold. This system plays them all fantastically and the sounds are just as I remember! Sure, we’re not as good at these as we were when we were in 1986, but it’s just as fun! This is one of the best purchases I’ve made in years! I’ve had it for only about 2 weeks and I’m s.

This Retro Trio is just what I’d been looking for. It’s the best you can do for the price range and to be able to interchangeably play my old Sega/NES/SNES games has been fun. Audio isn’t out of this world and the graphics are what they are guys. It seems some people want the hdmi to really improve the gaming performance but these are old games and midi files basically. It’s pretty good. The console is light weight, which is a bit scary, but these days it probably doesn’t take much to put together a retro console.

I’ve always been on the hunt for an HD solution for my NES, SNES and Genesis. I had my eye on the the Retron 5 but due to its severe hardware failure as well as being an emulation machine so certain games can’t work for the life of it, I’m going to play it safe and not buy it. I had my eye on other clones consoles but out of all of them the Retro Trio + caught my attention as it allowed you to play the big three instead of only two out of the three which is inconvenient. The system came in nice working condition. In the box you get the system, HDMI cable, USB connector, USB outlet adapter, and two controllers. The controllers in my opinion are the biggest highlight as I used to own the Retro Duo back in the day and the controllers for that weren’t the best as they were very plasticky and didn’t feel the most responsive. But these were the opposite, the plastic used isn’t so plasticky, the control pad, the buttons and even the triggers all feel really nice. Honestly I feel like using these controllers instead of the originals because of how nice they feel. Though I will say that the control pad is sensitive as I found my character moving to the right or left by just positioning my thumb to the left or right of the top part of the pad. But that’s not really a deal breaker as long as your pushing exactly in the direction you’re trying to go.All games I’ve tested on it so far have worked with no real issue but bare in mind my collection isn’ the largest so this is NOT a replacement.

I was torn between the Hyperkins and this. The Hyperkins have awesome looking cases but most reviews say this Retro Trio 3+ has better picture. The quality of the product, sound and video are top-notch, but I wish it had a control for the aspect ratio since some tvs don’t have a 4:3 hdmi control. I may wind up voiding the warranty and disassemble and paint another color. Maybe make it OD Green and make it look like a piece of military hardware. Hmmmmmm.

This product is great! We have been wanting to play with our collection of old games and this machine absolutely does the job! Very easy to set up, nice long cords on the controllers, excellent sound and graphics. Couldn’t be happier!

Love this system.First, the system is lightweight. I wish the system had more weight to it, especially at the bottom. Still, not a big deal.Second, the games look and sound great on my tv. The colors are vibrant and bright. Some games may be a bit off color, due to the differences between a CRT tv and a modern one, but not by much.Third, the HDMI and power cords are a bit short for my taste. The HDMI cord is 6 feet long, and even with the 10 foot cords for the controllers, I’m at the very limit of range for my living room. Stil, nothing that can’t be fixed with an extension cord.Yes, the games can stick a bit. I have to have one hand on the console to remove the games. Haven’t noticed any problems with the pins, though. I do have a SuperGameBoy and some Japanese SFC games, but I have yet to try them in this console, so I can’t speak to how well they work/fit.Overall, this is an excellent product, one that I’m glad I bought. Also glad that it comes with a one-year warranty, just in case.

I didn’t really know what to expect when ordering this item. I was a little nervous but I’m happy to say I’m quite pleased overall. Arrived on time and worked perfectly fine with HDMI. I didn’t need to adjust picture settings or anything.I used a 196 games in one genesis cartridge and a 68 in one snes cartridge and they both work beautifully. Full nostalgia.I popped in an OG NES cartridge and the color and sound were a bit wonky. Still very playable though! I’m wondering how it will look/sound when I get the NES multi game cartridge…..Only downside I would say is you may want to get some genesis controllers. The ones that come with the system feel fine for snes and nes but feels awkward when playing genesis games that call for 6 buttons. Overall I’d recommend

This thing is very cool and there’s a lot I want to cover here.Pros: – The picture quality is great and the color palettes for the systems look good – Flashcarts like the MD Everdrive and Snes PowerPak surprisingly work in it – Games like Doom for Snes and Yoshi’s Island with special chips work just fine – The Super Gameboy works great too – The controllers are decent quality – (On my 32" Tv in "game mode") there is virtually no noticeable lag and it’s just like the NES Classic or SNES Mini – Famicom games work with an adapterCons – Some games like Stunt Race FX didn’t work for me – The Everdrive N8 doesn’t work for me either – The stock controllers have weird mapping for Genesis games and it might be better to just use Genesis controllers – It only outputs 16:9 so to play your games in the original aspect ratio your TV will need to adjust the picture to 4:3- The audio on some NES games is a little off. Also I’ve read reviews of a blue model playing Genesis games at the wrong speed but this one plays them correctly. Maybe the blue unit is for PAL regions and this is for NTSC or something. Overall it could be better, there are some things that I wish worked that didn’t, and it would be nice if it either output 4:3 by default or at least had a switch or a setting for it, but for the price it’s pretty great especially considering that you get two controllers and an HDMI cable. It’s pretty ambitious to release an HD system that plays three game libraries (five if you.

I have a ton of old games and its a pain to bring all the old bulky systems out to play. I used to have it all just sitting in boxes downstairs. I bought this when my brother came into town so we could play and its an easy quick setup. Uses HDMI and has three systems that you just switch between by sliding the power button to a different notch. I leave this out all the time now and have a few of the games out to play. Would recommend it!
