I love this game. My brother and I played it coop when we were younger and I was feeling nostalgic. Check out LOTR: War in the North for a similar, newer game

I ordered the new version. It came never opened,in perfect condition. Loved this game when I was a kid. I’m so glad I have the chance to play it again. I’m playing it on the 360. I loved the two towers as well but sadly that game can’t be played on the 360. Highly recommend buying this game!

Game is great and love Lord of the rings. Great for it’s time it was made. Just not use to the action controls and a little bit hard to get use to, also can’t split screen for multi player but still fun in coop mode. Overall great game for a great price

I played this game before I saw Return of the King.I had seen the first two. It’s awesome! You can play as a multitude of characters, from Frodo to Sam to Gandalf,to Aragorn,Legolas, and Gimili. After completing the game, you can unlock Faramir,Merry, and Pippin as alternate characters. You can fight at such places as the Dimholt mountain, the Southern Gate, the Pelenor Fields.Shelob’s lair and much more. The game is all in all awesome and I love to play it.It is a complete rendition of the film.Get this game,if possible!

Some times used is better, I bought this from the shop All_Bright the game its self was fantastic the cover looked brand new I opened it up and it came with the original manual a bit ruff around the edges but who reads the manual anyway but I really appreciated the gesture. I pop’ed the disc out of the case and flipped it over, I was curious because it was used I was shocked! The disc looked like it was brand new no scratches no smudges, I couldn’t wait to get home and play this game this is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES as a kid, they just don’t make video games like this anymore. It connects with the story of the movie, you get sick combo moves, your fighting against a horde of enemies at a time, and with a added bonus the game itself is voiced by the all star cast which makes it a gem from that era, I truly felt like a kid again, and it was a great buy am truly satisfied with my purchase.

This was my first purchase in the LOTR saga. I read the first title, The Fellowship of the Ring, was not all that good here on retrolio so I skipped it as I am a huge fan of the movie series. The second title, The Two Towers, was a huge success, again so I read on retrolio ratings, but as I am not rich lacked the funds at that time to purchase it. But finally I saved the money to buy the final intallment Return of the King. I am not dissappointed, but not overly impressed either. Let’s speak of the good before the bad.Story: 9.5 Real hard to screw up here – after all there is a movie storyline to follow here.Graphics: 8 Very good but not ground breaking. Halo 1 has much better presentation and more depth. I know it is very overdone to compare games to Halo but they set the bar so everyone else can just deal with it.Concept: 8 Good concept, but I believe it could have been better served to follow a different road like a Diablo, or even Buldar’s Gate format. I find these game replay value are alot higher than this title was.Sound: 9.5 Sounded great with my surrond sound and music was very intense at the right moments – nicely done.Controls: 9 Decent and easily picked up. My nephew and I were playing multi-player and we both had it figured out in about 30 min.The multiplayer mode is very good and the angles are really good. Very seldom does your partner keep you from seeing what you need to – unless your partner is lost or not too good. The length of the levels could hav.

Graphically this game is a solid A, very nice rendering of light elements and textures. The transition between storyline vignettes and actual gameplay is fantastic throughout. Often you are dropped right into the middle of a scene, almost taking you by surprise (sometimes you might be in the middle of a battle!). Kudos to the design team for this type of play. The characters are rendered very well and move fluidly. The fighting is pretty straight forward and the AI is pretty good for most enemies. The level ups and moves available are also excellent. The game follows the plot of the movie/book for the most part and you are hurled into epic battles and other missions such as protecting frodo. Different levels require various characters whose abilities you develop in typical RPG fashion (ie experience points for defeating enemies). The wrinkle here is the rating you get for dispatching your foes. You can get "fair", "Good", "Excellent" or "Perfect". You gain more experience points for better executed attacks. These points are spendable in between rounds as upgrades for either your character or the entire party. The only thing stopping this game from being a complete home run is that, while it is fun and entertaining, it is way to easy to conquer. The bonus featurettes (sort of DVD style – unlocked after certain levels are beaten) are also a nice addition, expecially for a fan of the series in general.

This game is fantastic!! Serious WOW factor!! Whether you enjoy the movies or not-this game is a must have! If you like the movies you will go crazy. As you can tell I am throughly enjoying this game and so is my wife. I am always looking for 2 player co-op games and this is the ultimate! The cut scenes and awesome and the unlockable added features ie. interviews and concept art are a great addition. There is nothing more exciting then kicking the crap out of a bunch of orcs. Its not just button mashing as you gain more exp points by better, more difficult kills. You get to use all the characters from the book/movie, and a few unlockable ones too.Graphics: 100/100Sound, sound effects: 100/100Gameplay: 100/100Ease of use: 100/100Difficulty: I’m only 25% and I have had to restart a few missions, so I guess its moderately hard.Fun factor: 100/100This game is so good I do not feel its necessary to give a more detailed description…IT’S A MUST HAVE!
