The title says it all. The DLC for this game is back for the rest of 2010, after that it’s gone for good. Now is the time to buy this game and get the DLC. The DLC offers playable characters Cable, Psylocke, Magneto, Black Panther, and Carnage. Juggernaut is also available for download. As for the game I’m enjoying it a great deal. The fusion attacks range from ridiculous to just plain awesome(my favorite being Spiderman webbing all the enemies together and Cable blasting them away). Each of the characters “level up” and can make their attacks stronger. If your a Marvel or superhero fan I highly recommend this game.

(edit: upon finishing both campaigns i realize that this falls short of the original in some key areas. the fact that the roster has been cut down is unforgivable considering they’ve done next to nothing to improve the engine over the last 3 years, your abilities lists have been basically cut in half compared to the original, and one alternate costume for each character when the original had 4 for each, this game falls short of the plateau set by the original.)in a year that has arguably been the greatest year for comic book games we’ve ever seen, considering we got X-Men Origins: Wolverine, basically the best god of war knockoff we’ve ever played, and just a few weeks ago we got Batman: Arkham Asylum – a contender for game of the year in some circles. now we get Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, a sequel that takes everything that was great about the first game and gives you more of what you loved with action rpg dungeon crawling goodness. conversations have been vastly improved, with branching conversations and choices similar to Mass Effect.the story is a majory improvement over the original, this time everything is based around the comic run called Civil War, in this storyline the United States and the super hero community are in turmoil over the new “registration act” forcing all mutants and other heros to register themselves. the leader of the “pro-registration” side of the conflict is Iron Man, and his enemy leading the “anti-registration” side is none other than Captain Ame.

To start with the game looks awesome , the level design is much improved in terms of the environments looking real and not just copy and paste room after room. The Heroes powers look great and I have more of a feeling of power than in xmen legends games were more based around melee attack and you just happened to have super powers. The Game itself has a pretty decent story but if you play it twice you will realize there is not a whole lot of difference if you play pro or anti reg. There is less content than in previous games , each character has four powers and that is it. Each one only has two costumes, that is it. That being said the costumes you do get are well rendered and your powers are also more well developed in terms of visualization per the character you are using. As for the DLC not being available , it is a let down they did away with it as I would really like to use Juggernaut, Magneto , Cyclops..Etc but at the same time I found myself running out of game to use all the characters already at my disposal anyways. Opposed to in the first game where I would try half the people and be like that’s lame and never use them again and pretty much stick to the same four and maybe rotate in a few new guys now and again. I really really enjoyed being pretty much every single character in this game. Even the ones who I really don’t care for or know as much about like Luke Cage , Iron Fist , Penance and Songbird. They were all fun to use and came in handy expecially Iron Fist.

I love this game a lot better then the first just wish the DLC was still available to purchase for both the first and second they made the game a lot more fun with the different characters to level

  5. Torian

    The game is fun.

  6. N. C. Hill

Im a big fan of this series, i’ve stuck with it since the beginning and played all the different iterations of this game formula and it still holds up, but its appeal is starting to wane. This is basically the same game repackaged with a different plot and an added feature called “Fusions” which allow you to combine each hero’s powers together for some serious beat down. There are less heroes to choose from this time around but i feel like the 24 they included are more polished and better represent the powers of the characters from the comics. To be honest i was sold as soon as i found out Gambit was a playable character, its about flippin time!I guess i’ll get the gripes out of the way so here goes. One thing i hate about this game is the completely asinine character unlock codes and pre-order Juggernaut nonsense, all it does is piss people off. I picked up this Xbox version with the Hulk code included inside, it makes you start the game and enter some ridiculous direction pad code to unlock the hulk….what the hell is the point in that?? Whats even worse is the people that wanted to wait to find out if this game was worth a shizzle before buying it are penalized because they didn’t pre-order it, so no flippin Juggernaut for you. As of now you can download a Juggernaut teaser that allows you to play with people that did pre-order so that they can rub it in your face that you didn’t pre-order. WTF?!? The camera can be annoying at times, sometimes completely blocking.

One of the best Marvel games ever. The first Ultimate Alliance is just as good or even better.

  8. BarbaraDavis

    EXCELLENT

  9. Eric K.

The cut scenes and the character selection are great. The game play is a little different then the 1st. Really a lot on combining powers and seems to be all about that as the game goes on. Not a killer for me but kind of annoying.

  10. Johan Galdamez

The game it self is awsome the action, the characters everything even the story line is koo, they make it more interesteing I played the first Ultimate alliance and its also awsome dont think about it anymore just buy the game.
