I have not played a science fiction game this in-depth with a very well written story. If you are looking to kick some alien butt then look no further. The game play and action are exceptional. The entire series is really well paced and side missions actually are worth your time with interesting stories on their own accord.Mass Effect one, I believe had some of the most mysterious conspiracies to begin with. I won’t conclude any spoilers here, but you basically start off working for the council and are asked to investigate a possible rogue specter who was part of the council. As the story unfolds a much larger conspiracy is at work. Even some of the side missions tie into the main story in some way.Mass Effect two, well let’s just say things get a lot worst. There is an alien race called the Collectors who go around abducting colonies for some really sick reason. Of course you have to find out why they are doing this terrible stuff and the conclusion is really rather frighting, that’s all I’m going to say about that. Again the side missions are in fact part of the larger picture to understand what is happening and why. It really is worth playing the side missions if you want to see how deep the rabbit hole really goes.Mass Effect three you find out why these Collectors our doing this horrifying stuff, and which alien race is responsible for creating them. Now there is some DLC content not included with this trilogy that I recommend getting. Particularly the third and final ga.

Awesome game. I’ve made several characters and played it through more than once. I got my whole family to play it through too (and my wife doesn’t normally like to play third-person-shooter games).

I got the PS3 version of the trilogy. It was great and a lot of fun. While ME1 wasn’t anything super-spectacular. ME2 was phenomenal. However, be warned. The PS3 version of the trilogy has a lot bugs and coding issues. In ME1 it is not uncommon for characters to suddenly disappear in the middle of dialogue, but keep speaking. Also by the end of the game. the layers in the digital set start to become noticeable; walls will disappear at certain camera angles. ME2 didn’t have such bad issues, but the most noticeable bug was that dialogue and mouth-movement would go out of sync and result in the dialogue abruptly ending when the characters mouth stopped moving. If you’re looking to truly get immersed in the game and have a decent PC, I would recommend getting the PC version. I’ve heard that it’s a lot more refined.

The Mass Effect Trilogy has to be one of my favorite game series. I played the original 3 after playing the newest Mass Effect game, Andromeda. Still, these 3 are the best. Each game is a major improvement over the last and I must recommend these games to anyone that loves a good story driven open world shooter. Important note: When you start to play Mass Effect 3, make sure to download the Extended Cut free DLC, as it greatly improves an otherwise terrible ending. I won’t spoil anything, just that without the Extended Cut, the ending is a major let down that nearly ruins every minute that you spent playing these three amazing games.

I have never played Mass Effect before. I LOVE it. I have now played ME1twice to get the level up to 60 before moving to ME2. This gives you bonuses in ME2. I also let some caraters die in the first go through only to find out in ME2 that I should have chosen others to die. This is a great game series. One that will give you hours of play time.

Compelling story & characters, but the third-person action/shooter gameplay is mediocre. Guns are inaccurate, and fight scenes are often too chaotic to control Shepard and manage his/her squadmates at the same time. It doesn’t help that the series can’t think of a good "supplemental" mechanic to liven things up-planet exploration in the first game has janky physics, and the planetary scanning that replaces it in later games is not immersive.TL,DR: Buy this for the story, not for the combat.

This is one of the best trilogies for the gamer concerned about continuity. Its a shooter but not in first person! My favorite part about this series is that the decisions the player makes in game carry over into the next game. You can play this series over and over again and never have the same experience twice. It never gets old with the variations on character class and race in addition to the changes in game play in response to the decisions made in game play. I would and have reccomend this series to anyone looking for a cohesive story line and stunning game play.

Before purchasing the Mass Effect Trilogy, I was already well aware of the controversy behind the series. In spite of that I was familiar with some of BioWare’s previous work and wanted to try something new that wasn’t a racing game or a full on first person shooter. Before starting, I already knew the basic information behind the series; the player plays as Commander Shepard, you explore the galaxy, gain allies, the choices you make can potentially affect the story, and eventually take on an enemy known as the Reapers. Beyond that, I didn’t know what else to expect.Once beyond the prologue of the first game, I quickly found myself interested in the decisions that could be made. When making said decisions, the choices do not seem like much at the time but they can have a huge impact on the story later. At the end of the first game, I was impressed with how it gives you a sense of accomplishment as if you had tackled something that was much greater than yourself. Going into the second game, I almost lost interest. Almost being the key word.Quite literally everything that I knew about the Mass Effect universe had been turned on it’s head. Everything that I had worked for had not necessarily been taken away, but changed in some sort of fashion that made it seem foreign. The controls were different, and the weapon and armor customization had been changed entirely. It had taken a little bit, but eventually I found myself getting interested in Mass Effect 2 to the point where I wan.

I am not a xbox fan, yet my little brother let me borrow Mass Effect 1 years ago and I got hooked. A game that is super .. lots of detail.. "YOUR" Shepard that you create and the decisions you make can affect you in the later 2 games… great story and even though the ending of the 3rd game was controversial – I still love it.. one of my favorite games of all time. For a long time – Mass Effect one was only available for Xbox360 users until they released this trilogy and the ability to download the game via PSN store. I prefer hard copy myself so this was a day one purchase for me. If you haven’t played Mass Effect and you are a Sony PlayStation user this is a great buy. Great game, great series – looking forward to what they do on the PS4 next :)

Fans have certain expectations while going into a Bioware game, great story, writing and incredible characters. They do not disappoint with the Mass Effect series. The best story driven sci-fi RPG franchise in gaming. I have played these games first on PC (the best way to play these games) and recently on PS3 after buying the trilogy edition. The best way to experience these games is in sequence carrying over saves from one installment to the next. The game allows to play through the games as a male/female and as a Paragon (Lawful Good) or Renegade (Chaotic Good). Personally, I think the female version is better written and voice-acted.While the latter games (2 & 3) have moved away from the RPG roots that began with the excellent Mass Effect 1, the tighter combat, excellent story, world and companions make up for it. Mass Effect 3 is my favourite as it is great to see my decisions carried over in a meaning way from the first two games and the culmination of these decisions (although the ending is disappointing, though not nearly as disappointing as other fans have made it out to be on the internet). But Mass Effect 2 is the superior overall game and is technically the best made game in the franchise so far.I have not played the multiiplayer introduced in the third game and cannot comment on that.Bioware is only company under EA whose games I look forward to and care about. Their Dragon Age – Inquisition is my most anticipated game for this year. You cannot go wrong with a Biowa.
