I have had so much fun with. It works perfect and was easy to hook up. I definitely recommend this

CONS:I was expecting difficulty pairing the joysticks from the reviews I’ve read. The directions to pair are incomplete. After a quick visit to the Atari website, you have to push the joystick up, hold the fire button, and replace put in the batteries simultaneously. Once I did that it paired right away. The controllers are not quite as sensitive as I would like and due to the wireless nature, lag slightly.PROS:It’s 2:15 in the morning and I am so excited I took a break from game play to write this review. It’s like reliving my childhood. It has all of my favorite games from Pitfall, River Raid, Tempest, and Frogger to Keystone Kapers. I had forgotten how much fun these games are. The game is easily hooked up and everything needed is in the box with the exception of 4 AAA batteries for the joysticks. Picture quality isn’t bad on my 55 inch HDMI TV, (unless you are expecting XBox type quality then you will be disappointed).FINAL THOUGHTS:Overall, I’d say it is definitely worth the price for the console. It brings back many great childhood memories. After some research, original Atari 2600 paddles will work with this console, so I have ordered those so I can play the paddle games. The instructions are quite lacking, but nothing Google can’t fix. I was on the fence after reading some of the reviews, but decided to take a chance and I’m glad I did. It was worth it! Happy Gaming!!!

This is a great old school video game station. I will have to rate it as an A- overall. The installation instruction are lacking as they forgot to tell you how to pair the controllers to the console. There is a consortium of old school games from Frogger to Space Invaders to keep you busy during a rainy day. The MENU is easy to navigate with ICONS for each game to click on. If you dont know how to pair the Joystick controllers to the console then you must go to YouTube and there is a few videos posted that give you 6 steps to complete the process and you are ready to go. Dont give up as it took me 3 times to get the master joystick to pair. No it aint as fast as XBox but still just as FUNNNN!!! :-))))))

Those who wrote that it would not pair or didn’t understand The instructions, I know it’s a little confusing. You have to have the consol off and the controller off. Then while holding up and the fire button at the same time turn on the controller. The light should be dark and then start blinking in about five seconds. Then turn on the contrac then while holding up and the fire button at the same time turn on the controller. The light should be dark and then start blinking in about five seconds. Then turn on the console and it should pair up going to a solid blue light. I also love the fact that has an SD slot. You can extend your library With games you already own of course.

I’ve had Atari Flashbacks in the past: The wired controllers were good, but I would have preferred wireless since I sit pretty far from the TV. However the old wireless controllers didn’t work well on previous Flashbacks. And you couldn’t add more games to the previous systems.Well this year, they took care of both issues:The wireless controllers have been reworked and now work quite well. I see some other reviews complaining about pairing the joysticks to the console, and while it is trickier than it needs to be, I got it after a couple of tries. And you only have to do the pairings once. Once the controllers are paired to the console you don’t have to re-pair them again. And if you want, you can add more games to the system via the SD card slot. It’s not supported right out of the box: You must update the firmware first. Go to the AtGames web site and download the firmware update onto an SD card. Then insert the SD card into the console and run the update. Now the console will have the functionality to add more games.Search for “AtariAge Flashback 9” to find the Atari Age fan web site where they walk you through finding and adding more games to the system. Not all Atari 2600 games are supported, but a majority are.But if adding more games to the system doesn’t interest you, no worry, there are 120 games on here already. All games are Atari 2600 console versions except for Frogger and Space Invaders, which are arcade-like reproductions. Scroll through all 120 games, or go rig.
