I only two flaws with the game is number one music sometimes plays when it shouldn’t play isn’t a deal-breaker but feels a bit lazy. Number two is in certain games there is a few seconds of load time between each section of the level. It kind of makes the console look weak and I honestly have no reason for why it needs to load. But I don’t see any other cheaper alternative.

From aliens to mummies, enemy soldiers to aquatic beasties, this anthology of unlikely adventures has you battling through some of the very finest games from the golden age of the arcades. All the titles are in the lovingly designed, hand drawn art (2D pixels), that the team at SNK infused with boundless personality and FUN.As far as I can tell, each of the games in this collection are arcade perfect ports, and they perform flawlessly. Each game supports 2 player co-op, drop-in/drop out co-op, perfect for a little mindless, laughter-inducing entertainment. It takes about 45 minutes to play through each title from start to finish, which is quite lengthy for an arcade run-and-gun title, and particularly when you take into account the remarkable diversity that each game contains.The Metal Slugs remain among the very best games from their genre and generation, and they stand as pillars of inventiveness and humor for design. This anthology is an outstanding value at any price, and I only wish it was made available on more consoles.

The Metal Slug arcade machines are notorious for being unbelievably hard. It’s not uncommon to find yourself feeding well over $10 into a machine just to finish the game. Multiply that by 7 and you might come close to even $100 if you are playing with a partner.Instead, invest your dough in the Metal Slug Anthology. The games are perfect arcade emulations and you get infinite continues. They are still very, very hard and you’ll never finish a single level with all of your stats intact, but it’s a fun ride nonetheless. Some of the games can be a bit samey and you’ll finish them all in about an hour. But for chaotic, button-bashing mayhem with loads of explosions and firepower, you can’t go wrong with Metal Slug.Graphics ASound BGameplay BLasting Appeal B-

I remember having to go down to the local arcade and spend lots of money just to experience about 5 minutes of the first Metal Slug. Now you have unlimited lives and every Metal Slug made, all in one package. It’s awesome!! You don’t even have to be a fan of the series, you just have to like “shoot em’ up” type games. That’s the only criteria. I recommend this game to anyone who has any interest in it, GET IT!!!

The gameplay might get repetitive after awhile but this game is just sheer fun. The design of the characters and the colorful graphics never get old and its a GREAT way to waste some time, especially with a friend.The only slight negative is the control with the Wii. You have to shake the Wii Remote to throw grenades which gets extremely annoying after awhile. It also sucks that you cannot use the classic Wii Control and have to use the Wii Remote. If you can get over that small hurdle then this game is pretty enjoyable.It features the original Metal Slug, Metal Slug 2, Metal Slug X, Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug 4, Metal Slug 5, and Metal Slug 6 and also some special features like an art gallery and the ability to turn on rapid fire for every game.If you love Metal Slug then this is definitely for you.

I remember when I first played Metal Slug in the arcades several years ago. I LOVE the constant warfare/blasting of enemy soldiers, machines, and helicopters. You can even enter a tank or ride a camel to progress easier through the game or collect power-ups. Not to mention the awesome hand drawn foregrounds/backgrounds in every level!The only downside is that when you rescue prisoners, your count goes back to zero if you lose a life. Overall, Metal Slug Anthology is deeply challenging, and I really love the gore and violent factor — so, fair warning, this isn’t for the faint of heart. There WILL be bloodshed, screaming, and people running around on fire, hence the "Teen" rating of this game. Also, I strongly recommend using the Nintendo GameCube controller, although it is quite fun to flick the Wii controller to throw grenades around.Still, how can you NOT want to have such an awesome compilation — 7 games on one disc?! So if you love Metal Gear Solid or the Contra series, then you will LOVE Metal Slug Anthology.
