  1. Metroid fanatic

One of the best games for Samus Aran to be in. One flaw is the ammo system But is still amazing.

From one, here we have the next and new installment to the classic Metroid Prime series. Here is now a new story involving Light and Darkness along with awesome new weapons and gadgets to enjoy. Here in this sequel it leaves you with a new and makes you think more, unlike the first one. Filled with all new bosses and puzzles too. Made not to be as easy as the first one, but you be the judge of that. It is a lot of fun, even though it is not as fun as first still however. The first can’t be compared, but this one is a must buy in my book if you are a fan of the Metroid series. Enjoy!

Prime 1 was an excellent and successful experiment in genre-conversion. A once exclusively 2D platformer turned 3D gave a lot of dedicated nostalgics the shakes. I was one of them. However, Prime 1 proved me wrong indeed. The graphics were nothing short of unfathomable (they’re exquisite even now), the level design was very good and well-coordinated, and the creatures made for the game were just as awesome to learn about as to shoot at.Prime 2 steps up everything. There are a few changes that needed to be made that were good saves for the series. One of the biggest changes here was the drastic change in mood and atmosphere. Metroid’s reputation as a moody, lonely, and eerie game series was rather iffy in Prime 1. In Prime 1, the environments were too bright and well-lit, large, and outdoors. It didn’t really convey the right sense of sheer creepiness that the series has. But in Prime 2, even Light Aether is dark and gloomy. It’s raining in most places, or sandstorming in others. Torvus Bog is, frankly, one of the BEST environments ever created for any videogame. And then there’s Dark Aether. The light-world/dark-world concept comes to brilliant vividness in this game. Dark Aether is depressing, lonely, and conveys a real sense of danger as throughout the bulk of the game you’re running around between spheres of light to escape the poisonous atmosphere. And the Ing are just plain ugly as sin.The sound and music are awesome, and the music especially stands as an improvement over.

Definitely a review that is very late, but never played this game until now.Nothing will beat the first Metroid Prime. But Metroid Prime Echoes is definitely near-par to the first game. Retro kept the same controls and navigation since the first game, and the puzzles are just as challenging. The only beef that can go with this game is ammo scavenging for the light and dark beams. That can become a tad tedious, but the game can be generous, and the way one scavenges for ammo is to use the beam of the opposite polarity to gain more ammo for the other. So it isn’t something to really gripe about. There’s still exploration, and rewards for such actions, which is a staple for the Metroid games. The graphics are definitely pleasing for this game. Different style from a lot of the other Metroid games, but it works. If you’re unsure of this title, whether your a Metroid fan, or just a general shooter fan, still give it a rental at least. I still say Metroid (Prime) fans should buy this.
