in purchasing a wii back around november, i was already justified. the price is so much more realistic, and you get a much better value than with other consoles. i do not, nor have i ever considered the wii and underpowered system, because power is such a miniscule factor in what makes a great entertainment console. but for any who lingered over whether the wii was worth paying so much less for and wielding the unconventional control scheme, you are now silenced. metroid prime corruption is by far one of the most efficient and intuitive uses of the wii’s motion sensing capabilities, and a great testament to the outstanding look games can have on this system with the right development team. i’ve never played a metroid game before prime 3. i’m a fan.

If you liked prince of persia:sands of time, ratchet and clank:tools of destruction(ps3), then you will definitely like this. Innovative game play, still getting use to the grapple function, it seems that many games that I have played in the past like to add this feature in, but cannot seem to get it quite right and I am not sure why, although I suppose it just takes some getting used to. Graphically speaking, the game is nice on the eyes. It is too bad that wii does not have more titles like this, it is certainly a gem in a sea of bad to mediocre titles.

Some parts took me some time to get used to, but very smooth video, nice artwork, tough bosses, and interesting setting and story.

Good game. Bought it as a Christmas present for son. He seems to really enjoy the game, as he put it on his list.

Right now, this is probably one of the top 5 “must haves” for the Wii. FPS-type games used to be frustrating and clunky on consoles, but now that the Wii has arrived, it opens up a whole new level of control that’s often as good as, and sometimes better than a simple keyboard and mouse combo like you would find on a computer. The controls in Metroid Prime 3 are great, though not quite as fluid and exact as those found in Resident Evil 4 (another definite “must have” for the Wii), but that’s not a fault necessarily as the controls are designed around a different set of objectives than you’d find in RE4. I’d say that it should take around 10 to 20 minutes to get familiar with the controls and maybe a total of an hour’s play time to get totally proficient. That’s not a particularly steep learning curve, and those more familiar with FPS games on the PC will likely cut those times down significantly. The graphics and settings are done particularly well; though some might complain that the PS3 or the Xbox 360 games all look better, I haven’t really come across any that actually PLAY better or are more entertaining, but to each their own I suppose. Each location is distinct from the others and the soundtrack helps to build the overall feel of each world. The story is well paced, though not quite perfect as it does get a little lame or cheesy sometimes. This does not detract from the overall feel of the game however, most people will be too busy searching for suit upgrades, engaging in.

I found MP: Corruption to be an outstanding addition to the Metroid series. Each subsequent evolution of the Metroid series combines what’s great about the past versions along with the capabilities of the latest console. In this case, Corruption sticks with what has always worked:* Solid basic story and mission with the typical mini-boss fights, etc.* Extensive gameplay (the usual back and forth between worlds as you upgrade weapons/suit and gain access to new areas is a stalwart of the Metroid seriesThe new twist is how Nintendo has adapted the series to the Wii console:* All the FPS features of the Wii to allow you to truly feel like you’re aiming and firing at those annoying Space Pirate.* You can now grapple enemies and objects beyond just the traditional grapple points – get ready to practice a strong YANK!* Greater interaction with control panels and other objects (like pulling airlock controls, etc.) – I’m less crazy about this feature since I found it slightly tedious to do the pulling, turning and twisting.* The new Phazon suit is challenging – it’s a great weapon but it’s pulling on your life force so you have to be careful when/how long you use itAll in all, another great Metroid title from Nintendo. If you like the series, I doubt you’ll be disappointed with how they’ve adapted it to the Wii.

The game itself is pretty fun and very enjoyable the controls are easy to master despite what others say you’ll get the hang of it within 20 min the boss battles are pretty tough and they all have a certain strategy on how to beat them so if your expecting to just shoot away at a boss and hope they die good luck it won’t work the game is pretty straight forward not too much backtracking like Prime and Prime 2 which I hated by the way but be aware boss battles take between 15-30 min so if your not a patient person or get frustrated very easy this game is not for you but this is how I rank the prime Trilogy 1.Prime 3: Corruption 2. Prime 3. Prime 2: Echoes ( worst out of the 3 way too difficult boss battles were hard and too much back tracking switching between the light and dark worlds) I didn’t even finish the game that’s how bad it is so stay away from Prime 2: Echoes get Prime 3, Prime 1 and Super Metriod those are the best ones and all those sold over a million copies because they are great games.
