I have always loved baseball games. By far this is the most entertaining. I have played baseball games as early as Nintendo, Xbox, and even Atari.

I don’t get into whether the changes year to year are good, terrible, whatever….don’t get caught up in hiccups of the game or the graphics – this is what it is – a VIDEO GAME and it is damn fun for kids and adults. anyone who gets too wrapped up in its level of perfection is likely a very frustrated athlete who never made it past his/her supposed glory years of high school.

First off let me say that i’m a long time fan of The Show for the PS3. Last year I purchased the PC version since it was only $19.99 on retrolio. This year I went with the 360 version and boy what a difference a year makes. You maybe asking how good? Much better than 2K9 but still not as good as The Show. This franchise is finally moving in the right direction with Virtual Concepts developing the game.MLB 2K10 is not as bug filled as last years game but at times it looks sloppy especially when it comes to transitional animations on the field. More importantly the AI in 2k10 plays much smarter, is more aggressive on the base paths and will try and pick you off on first after calling for a pitch out it you happen to have your baserunner leaning towards second. One AI flaw that was in last years game has been fixed. The AI will take strikes in the strike zone but will also swing at pitches if they are looking for a specific pitch you just happened to serve up.Graphically the game looks real nice. The colors are bright and cheery but less realistic than the graphics on The Show. Jaggies are also present but they don’t look too bad.Where the game excels and nails it is in the Presentation dept. The audio by Gary Thorne, Steve Phillips and John Kruk. While the audio will eventually get repetitive it makes up for it with MLB Today. Just like in NBA 2K10 you are kept up to date on the happenings in your MLB Season as it progresses. It’s simply awesome to watch it unfold just as it is doe.

Danny –
Great game, improved a lot from last years. Love the new mlb today and my player mode but didn’t really like the graphics i thought it would be better each year but some faces are not right and graphics could have been better. There were still some bugs but overall it was fun to play and hope to improve more next year from 2k.

The last time I played a truly great baseball sim was on my Nintendo Gamecube with MVP 2005. Now, after 2KSports bought the MLB rights, it looks as if they finally have a product to match.Though I have not yet discovered every facet of this game, such as how the franchise mode plays out, I am very impressed with the overall gameplay and graphics (the two most important elements). Besides the one “fatal flaw” in all baseball sims–that low pitches are almost impossible to distinguish between balls and strikes–MLB 2K10 is a blast to play! I have now played quite a few individual games, and all have been enjoyable experiences, with no glitches, annoyances, or shoddy gameplay. Thus, I highly recommend this game for all XBOX 360 users NOT addicted to Call of Duty who have been faithfully awaiting a baseball sim to rival the Madden franchise. It has finally arrived.

The game is very user friendly. I prefer setting my controller to classic mode for pitching and batting. I have a real hard time otherwise. 2k9 was hard to play against the computer because most of the time time my first basemen would drop the ball more often or I would give up tons of home runs and it was just too unrealistic. But 2k10 is on a more even playing field. I retired my 2k9 a long time ago because I would get frustrated rather than having a good time.

Bought this last week and had a chance to play about 20 games. Well I told myself I was not going to buy this until I read some positive reviews on retrolio. Well the reviews all looked good so I jumped on it and I must say, everyone who reviewed this game were right on the money. I could not agree more. So I traded in my MLB 2K9 (which sucked), and bought 2K10. Love the pitching interface. Really inovative. The pitching on 2K9 was a joke. On the hitting side, nothing new here, hitting is hitting. Just pull or push the right stick close your eyes and hit the freakin ball!. The best thing for me is the fielding is MUCH MUCH easier and I love it. I don’t have the greatest reflexes anymore but this fielding thing is pretty sweet. Plenty of time to get under a pop fly or make a dive in the hole, etc. My only complaint for this version is the baserunning. For some reason if you hit a liner to the outfield with a guy on first, the runner stops and watches the outfielder field the ball. Well then the dummy takes off for second only to get thrown out by a mile. (ON A HIT!!!). Nothing is more aggrevating to me to get a hit and the guy on first should be on second (or third). Kills a rally every time. I wanted to throw the controller at the TV. Happens at least twice a game. I have adjusted the baserunning to be “smarthold”, “neverhold”, (does not matter, the baserunners are stupid AI).All in all, I would rate this game a 4 total. Outside of the baserunning (which is bad on every 2K base.
