This game is nuts, and I loved every moment of it.

This game is awesome. If you’re a big horror fan like me, you’ll love this game. It’s drenched in pixleized blood, green slime, and includes some of the most bizarre of boss stage enemies. I f you’re planning on getting this for a little kid, don’t. There is some disturbing stuff. (for an NES game). Mountains of demons heads drooling blood, it’s just awesome. If you’re a collector, don’t miss this one!!!!!!!

I agree with the last reviewer, this game is just a trippy cult classic. At first,I didn’t like it either, but it gradually grew on me. The bosses really made this game great, and one of those bosses was one called Living Dead-Zombies From Japan. The comment they made to you was “Watch us dance”.So these kimono wearing undead would dance to this oriental music. If you attacked them, they would just turn to dust and ressurect seconds later. All you had to do was, well, watch them dance and you would win.Very originalfor it’s time. Some of the other cool bosses were punk rocker, black cat, medusaand elephant man.If memory serves,I think in the last stage you fight the grim reaper and he says something like “welcome to hell”. If there is any downside to this game,I would say it’s the boss battle music. It’s like a really, really fast 50’s style bebop and it get’s pretty annoying after hearing it loop over and over. The music for stage 3 however is very cool and eerie. Monster Party also has one of the best twist endings for the nes.Although I was never really good at this game, all I can say is that when push comes to shove,a game genie solves everything! This title is great for collectors and vintage game players alike.

Compatible with the FC TWIN. Truly beautiful graphics for an NES game. Spooky and Humorous in many different ways, But suffers From Cliche’s in the story line. Overall it is an awesome game from the Horrifying monsters to the giant floating shrimp. Rather difficult at first but NES always was good for challenging you. If you were born in the Late 90’s or early 2000’s and you Buy this game, its not like these Violent 3D games these days, its the Classic 2D platformer i came to know and love as a child. Good Game however.

This is one of those games that keeps you going because of it’s originality. I just recently bought this game, and after popping in it, realized I had played it a long time ago in the early 90’s. It all started coming back to me, the dragon thing you turn into, the baseball bat, weird bosses, etc. Back then I didn’t really care to much for it and only got as far as the second level. Playing it now I can appreciate how unique it is. While it’s pretty much just shooting/beating stuff up, it’s high points are the detail to the level’s and great boss fights. The only real low point of the game is round/level 6. Ugh, the music, the maze, the enemies. if you can make it past that level you’ll definitely enjoy the rest.

What a strange game! When a kid named Mark is walking home from a ball game he looks up and sees a star getting bigger and bigger. It gets so big and bright his eyes get moist! I love the intended silliness of that line. Then it pops and out comes a monster named Bert. He lands in front of Mark and needs help battling monsters. Noticing Mark’s holding a baseball bat, the monster thinks this is a fine weapon to battle evil monsters! The two fuse together, fly away and here begins the adventure! The game begins in a side scroller setting as Mark uses his bat to poke at glowing monsters (some monsters with their heads stuck in the pavement!) until Mark stumbles upon a plant. The object is to reflect the bubbles he spits back at his face, but this proves to be relatively challenging because precision is important. This is much trickier than trying to do the same thing in say, a Link to the Past when reflecting Agahnim’s balls. Did I mention monsters make a hilarious vaporized sound when they explode? Really dramatic! For a short time you can turn into a green bat (Bert actually- I seriously didn’t realize this!) fly around and shoot beams at enemies by collecting pills. The environment in the first stage changes into an eerier zombie-like setting too which is pretty cool by NES standards. Watch out for walking tentacle eyeballs, and the thing that really freaks me out- a pumpkin head! You find him a cave. He or she wears a white dress and spins around shooting pumpki.
