Merrianne –
This was my favorite book from when I was just a child. Had to buy it and re-read it at the age of 59.
Diana –
My kids enjoy this book a lot, my youngest reads it over and over again.
Gracie K –
I’ve been reading this cool little story to my kids at nite and they love the story. Such a cute all time favorite

My grandson enjoyed reading this. It has a lot of humour. He also enjoyed the movie with Jim Carey.I was surprised that he enjoyed the book even though he had seen the film.Seems that the two are close in content but the movie had more visual contentwhich he remembered as he read the book.
Heather Y. Raber White –
Read to my 6th graders. We did activities that matched.
Laura Mushkat –
very good book and would be great for a child who is nearly a tween. not too long for even someone who might not be achild who loves to read. it is clearly written, and the illustrations are in black and white and very well done.even if the child saw and liked the movie they should find this different enough to amuse and keep them turning the pages.actually laughed out loud at parts myself!!!
Leslie –
My 9 year old loved this book! Kept her interest and we found a literature unit to use with it.
Kari A. –
I bought this to go along with my son’s homeschooling language arts curriculum. I don’t know how I made it through childhood without reading this book, but I’m glad I got to enjoy it with my child as an adult. GREAT story that I’m reading to the little brother now. In this age of electronic everything, it’s heartwarming to see two busy boys truly enjoy a classic like this!
Grandma M –
Although some aspects of this book are dated, the basic story is as charming now as it was when it was written decades ago. My grandson loved it!
Lisa K. Taruschio –
This is an extraordinary children’s book, a real classic. Personally I did not see this edition because I sent it through internet from me in Italy to my granddaughter in Manhattan, but my daughter tells me that this is a lovely edition, illustrations and all. My own mother was an elementary (3rd grade) school teacher for close to 50 years and this, along with Stuart and Charlotte, was a favorite of hers for the class.
