I’m waaaay late to the game here (literally—how long ago did this come out?), but this was a super fun game and kept me entertained for a while. The village environment feels very genuine to the actual anime, and exploring it was a lot of fun. The missions were also fun, if a bit aggravating at times (like the racing challenges! AHHH!).I completed the main story line, but the ending didn’t feel like an ending…I was questioning if I actually beat the game, or just finished a major segment of it. But all that remains, it seems, are a few side challenges (okay, a lot of side challenges), so I guess that’s all there was to it.Some of the gaming mechanics seemed a little tedious (finding coins, getting villagers to like you, etc.), and learning a lot of Naruto’s fighting combos was challenging. You have to be quick to use your jutsu against a capable opponent. But you get the hang of it with practice—aside from fighting the generic thieves and ruffians found outside the village, you can have sparring matches with some of the main characters. Iruka sensei was easiest in my opinion, followed by Kakashi, but Sasuke and Sakura were both pretty tough!
My nephews loved this X360 game when I gave it to them for Christmas several years ago. I hope they gave it to a younger friends as they outgrew this game type.
the game play is very smooth & colorful, it takes awhile to get use to the combos & special attacks, but over all its a great game to own.

This game is about the closest you can get to living out the earlier part of the anime series/manga that you can compared to the other naruto games. While the others introduced story elements into their games as well, this one really feels like a sandbox sort of feel by giving you real-time travel throughout the naruto world. It’s pretty big and there’s lots to do to keep yourself busy and entertained just between all the mini-games and side quests alone.The combat though is pretty unique how they handle it, and makes you actually do some work to pull off a special attack, but once you get the hang of it is pretty easy to do. There are even little mini-games within the special attacks too to keep you on your toes and give the opponent a chance to counter.The storyline pretty much starts out from the very beginning and goes up to just past the chunnin exams, in case any fan was wondering. It’s not a very lengthy game, but that depends on how much of the extra side-quests and everything that you do. For anyone who was wondering they do have downloadable content, including japanese voice-overs along with new characters for multiplayer. It’s a solid game that’s not too hard for newcomers to these sort of games but definitely gives those with some experience a chance to shine.The multiplayer is about the only thing I can nitpick about, and that too mainly with the online part as a lot of people tend to be pretty good at it so it’s hard to find someone your own skill level. The AI.

Let me just say that this game is amazing. The Hidden Leaf village is huge and you are free to roam the entire village. The fighting system took me a bit of time to get used to, but it is very well thought out. I love the fact that I can do hand seals to perform the jutsu. My only complaint is the English dubs. Of course, that’s more of a personal preference. If you really can’t stand the dubs, just download the Japanese pack from XBL. It removes some NPC dialogues but to hear the game in it’s original language is well worth it. Overall, if you are a Naruto fan, then you should definitely pick this game up!

It was exactly what I wanted!
Let me cover this from two aspects – as an anime/manga adaptation and simply as a game.Ok, I’m not a Naruto expert. My son started watching it on Cartoon Network and got really into it so I (trying to be a good parent) looked into it to make sure I was cool with the content – which I was. He has since also been reading American Shonen Jump. So, most everything I know about Naruto is simply due to proximity to my son. :) That being said, I do like Naruto story and characters quite a bit.I also am an anime fan and have bought many games on different platforms that were based on manga or anime I liked. I think most anime fans, when they buy these games, are looking for faithful recreations of the characters and universe they love. They want to be able to interact with these people and places. If that is the criteria, this is probably the best I have ever played. All the voices (either the Japanese or the English versions) are the same actors as in the anime. The conversion of Naruto’s world to 3D is remarkably well done. The “village hidden in the leaves” looks perfect, all the character (down to their special moves and fighting style) are dead on, and it faithfully recreates the first 80 episodes as the primary story thread you follow through the game – integrating scenes from the episodes themselves as the cut scenes in the game. For Naruto fans as well, this is the only Naruto game that includes story based, role playing elements as well as fighting game elements..
Nintendo and Sony have seen their fair share of Naruto games on, both, console & handheld so it’s nice to see Microsoft getting some of that love now. To be honest, it’s one of the reasons I bought an Xbox 360(the other being the game Blue Dragon). Naruto: Rise of a Ninja is one of the most stunning games I’ve seen on the system. Everything in the Naruto universe is so richly detailed. At times, it’s breathtaking.While I was looking forward to an all-new experience with the game(like the completely original storyline in Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles 2), Rise of a Ninja plays it safe and follows the first season of the anime starting with the tale of the Nine-tailed Fox and how it could have destroyed Konoha Village were it not for the efforts of the Fourth Hokage who trapped the demon within the body of a young child whom we all know as Naruto.Most of the game and it’s playstyle is nothing that Naruto vets haven’t seen before. Yet, one thing that sets it apart from the rest is its’ fighting system. To perform your jutsu, you have to do a series of hand gestures like they do in the anime(by using a series of thumb gestures on the Xbox 360’s analog sticks) to execute them. The fighting can get downright intense at times but, considering the lack of opponents & the variety of them to face in the game, it left me wanting more. Although using your jutsu to accomplish certain tasks in the game proves to be quite fun.Considering this is the first American made Naruto game, I think the.

Everyone says this is the “ultimate Naruto game”. That it’s undoubtedly the anime in video game form, “Grand Theft Naruto”. I’ve played through it and I gotta say: Not so much. It’s fun do doubt, a beautiful, fun game. But it’s not perfect. There’s not actually very much to do and it seems to be a bit skimpy on the plot. Fighting is mediocre, jutsus are repetitive and easy as hell. Broken Bond actually looks to be a little better. Here’s hoping it is

Faithful to the hit Japanese cartoon, this game is a lot of fun for 1 to 2 players either off line or online. It can be played as a story and as a 3D fighting game. Some of the achievements can only be unlocked by playing online as a fighting game while others can be unlocked by playing off line in its story mode. It has a few bugs.

If you like Naruto and have a 360, definitely buy this game. Also, if you watch the original japanese anime rather than the CN dub, *make sure* you go download the japanese voices off of xbox live – they’re free! Do this before you play through, it’ll make it all the better.
