Not the greatest NASCAR game no. But the graphics where much improved over the previous games BUT the game play, not so much. Still it’s a descent game, first NASCAR game to let you race Modifieds, Trucks, Busch, and Cup.
Had the game for almost 10 years before it quit Playing found this one brand new online . In my opinon and this is coming from someone who has played every NASCAR game there is since 1998 this is the best NASCAR game ever made period
I have to disagree with robert’s review. I think that it was a great idea for EA to finally come out with a realistic racing game.After all Nascar drivers don’t start out in the nextel cup.I think’s it’s nice that there’s more divisions to choose from. Although I haven’t played the game yet, I’m going to be one of the first persons to buy it.
I really like this game because the sound and graphics are good. The new Chase for the Cup mode is outstanding. My personal favorite they added this year for EA Sports is if you share draft with another racer and win races, you can earn skill points to buy production cars, paint schemes, and different tracks(to unlock)…etc. There is so much.Ryan McAndrew, son of Jeffage 10 from Wisconsin
Everything went great. It shipped and arrived in timely fashion. Plays fine, with no scratches. It was exactly what I wanted.
SERIES-Modifieds: The best thing about this game,wish they’d include some dirt tracks for modifiedsTrucks: Trucks are fun,just wish they’d include a few more truck only tracks(Myrtle Beach)instead of driving on so many fantasy tracksBusch Series: Nascar JR You race in cars that are pretty much identical to Cup cars, except they have less powerful engines.Still again a few more Busch only tracks should have been included instead of fantasy tracks.Cup Series: This is it. The Cup Series. The most horsepower of anything in the game. The most adrenaline. The most everything.The only problem with this game, once you pick the settings in the Fight for the Top mode, you’re stuck with them (unless you want to start new game). That’s a problem because, as you progress, you’ll need less and less “driver assist” and will want to compete agains better AI competitors (rookies, veterans, legends) and change other settings related to tire wear, refueling, damage, etc.That being said with EA’s Nascar contract up,this looks like the last really good EA Nascar game.Anything after this just doesn’t controll worth a crap(06 thru 09).With this one you get both,full on assist mode where your gameplay is more arcade style.Or you can take take off all assists and it’s more like a simulation,where you have to fine tune cars to keep them on the track.No matter which system you own,PS2/PS3-Gamecude/Wii- Xbox get this game.As of this interview,it’s not playable on Xbox 360.Two years since last 360 emulat.

It you’re into racing sims, this game isn’t for you. If you’re into racing sims and say that this game sucks as a sim, that’s like saying that Madden 2005 is a terrible hockey game. Yeah, it isn’t a good hockey game because it’s a football game.The Fight for the Top mode of this game is fun. You start at the bottom, race your way up, earn money, buy teams (to earn more money), win championships, etc. I could go on with the fun stuff, but now that the price is marked down or you can buy a used one, quit reading reviews and just try it.The negatives: Two things bug me about this game. First, the autograph signing sessions are a waste of time. Second, once you pick the settings in the Fight for the Top mode, you’re stuck with them (unless you want to start new game). That’s a problem because, as you progress, you’ll need less and less “driver assist” and will want to compete agains better AI competitors (rookies, veterans, legends) and change other settings related to tire wear, refueling, damage, etc. So you’ver earned $2M and now realize it’s getting too easy to win. Can’t change the settings. Gotta give it all up and start over. You can change the settings anytime in the other modes (e.g. Race Now), but that doesn’t carry over to the Fight for the Top.
It occasionally freezes up but other than that very good.

This game is one of the best games because of the new features such as 3 new series. The trucks are probably the best of all.The new rides are really cool such as sports cars and passenger cars. The fantasy drivers aren’t that good and the numbers are mostly in the 100’s. The fantasy tracks aren’t the best either. They should have included Nashville, Memphis, and even Kentucky. The”Skill Points” are very bad as well. Most of the time drivers hit you and cause wrecks, which causes you to lose points, which can be frustrating too. Overall, the game is really good if you are a huge NASCAR fan.

its true1this game is as close to real nascar as a video game can get.it has everything any old nascar game ever had and more!you start off drag racing in street cars.then you get a call to go to the modified division.i think they called it featherlite.once youve impressed all the right people,you can move up to the trucks,and later busch and nextel also.the realism is incredible!you need to stay on the inside a lot.its really easy to wreck or be wrecked.you get rivals that dont go away and seek revenge down the road and even much later on different tracks.the system keeps track of your money,deals,offers,# of fans and just about everything else.you can celebrate with burnouts and doughnuts when youre done.you can even customize your own ride!one more neat feature is hero vs villian points.its like light and dark side for you star wars guys out there.eveery time you pass clean,share draft etc,you get hero points good for ghetting skill points.if you play like a man instead of a little girl and knock people out of your way or wreck them for fun you get villian points.villian points are good for the intimidater feature.this allows you to pull an earnhardt and scare people into moving out of your way.thats why dale earnhardt rules!who else has a feature named for them.jeff gordon has no whine-erater that allows him to get by on teers.theres no mark martin sympathy for the old man feature.this is the coolest game for racing ever!

Nascar 2005 is defentily better than the 2 previous versions. While a common belief is that you have to start out in the featherlite division that is untrue. That only is true for the Flight to the top mode. In Season Mode you can actually choose the series you want. Also you can do just the chase races and actually PICK which drivers you want in the chase. I give it 5 out 5!

Nascar 2005: Chase For the Cup has got to be one of the greatest nascar games yet. The fight to the top mode lets you battle your way to the top by either being a hero or a villian, theres also custom car garage where you can customize your own featherlite, nascar truck and a nascar stock car. along with a ton of other cool features, such as dodge speedzone where can test your driving skills. If you want an intense, action packed nascar game than you should buy this game!
