I find that with xbox live roster updates it is not really necessary to buy the latest version of these 2K games. I am happy with the 2K11 since I understood the 2k12 version did not contain any enchancements besides the featured player and roster updates. Go resale market!

I ordered this through retrolio’s release day shipping and I’m happy to report that it was in my mail box the day that it came out. The game itself is just amazing. From the presentation to the way each player truly plays like their real life counterparts. The Jordan modes are fantastic and are great for both young and new fans. There are a few legends that are missing that I would have loved to have seen (Charles Barkley is one), but the chances are that if they were significant they’re in this game.I could go on and on about this game but I’ll just leave it at this. If you’re a casual or a die hard NBA or basketball fan from the past or the present…you need to check this game out.

I started off playing NBA Live up until 2007 when I swithced over to 2k and have changed since. 2K continues to deliver the most authentic basketball games. Only 2k10 I would say did not exceed my expectations, but that’s given that Michael Wang (Head Gameplay Designer)was with EA at the time.NBA 2K11 hands down the best basketball game created. It gives a great feature with Michael Jordan Challanges and unlockable shoes and a different revamped gameplay. It takes some time to adjust to the new controls, but it is well worth it. The gameplay is slowed down a bit, which is much more realistic. The AI is much more smarter and plays with more improvisation which makes it more challenging, but not over the top difficult. The only bad thing I would say is that I was a little nitpicky about the camera view. On broadcast, you cannot turn off the key zoom, which I usually don’t play with, but eventually I got used to it. I also experienced some minor glithces with dunks and got a little agitated with the hop step dunks that happen pretty frequently. Other than that, this game is definitely a must-buy sports game of the year.PROS- Graphics- Gameplay- Controls- Features (Michael Jordan Challenges, Unlockable Shoes)Cons- Cannot turn of “Zoom” on broadcast view- Minor Glitches (Dunks, Crossovers)

NBA 2K, from day one, has been the video game world’s best representation of basketball. Amazingly, the team outdid itself this year. The inclusion of Jordan and his playable retrospective smartly opens up the game to anyone with a passing interest in basketball. It also breaks the stigma that each year’s game is just a roster update. While it seems Pippen plays like crap, it’s a wonderful mode that will give you several hours of play. You’ll be amazed how many hoop heroes make appearances, and are thus playable. The rest of the game is as rock-solid as ever. I can play a season for simply taking a team to the championships, or use The Association to be more GM-centric. Minigames like the dunk contest and 3-point shootout provide nice diversions. My Player is still here, though I haven’t played it much after not really liking it in 2K10. But basically, there is a TON of game here that will keep you occupied throughout the season. This game demands a high basketball IQ — even on lower difficulty levels. You really have to use your head to outsmart the AI. Otherwise, it will pick off your passes and posterize you early and often. That’s actually a positive, since it teaches you to be a better player. Some old issues still exist that I really wish would get cleaned up. The trade screen only displays 4 slots per team, but at times the computer will hide a fifth item off-screen. Passes are extremely imprecise unless you use Icon Passing. And I hate that there’s no way to alter the sp.

I only played this game just a little bit, but enough to know that it’s almost the same game as 2k10. I’m not saying 2k10 isn’t a great game. It is! But there’s no improvement. I hate it when there is a long year of speculation about the improvements next year’s game is supposed to have and it turns out the same as last year. There are a couple differences but don’t spend more money on 2k11 as apposed to ’10; it isn’t worth it.

My husband and kids love everything about this game! Hours are consumed on this game by them all. They love the HD effect it has when you plug in an HDMI cable. They like that they can create their own person and that it downloads real NBA info to the game and allows you to vote on what team you think will win for that day. They like that their person actually gets recruited to a team. It is a great game to take away from the kids when they aren’t doing what I ask because they really like it that much.

$30 for a new copy of NBA 2K11 is a great deal. I checked Gamestop before I purchased it here on retrolio and it was $32.99 USED. I’m glad I looked here. The game works great, no issues yet. Although, NBA 2K games have a tendency to get scratched inside the XBox while playing (faulty hardware?). The game came really fast and it’s a lot of fun. If you like basketball, buy this game. If the price isn’t around $30, I recommend waiting until the price drops. Also, it came with free super saving shipping. $30 with no tax and shipping.

I have been playing basketball game since Double-Dribble back in the 80’s, which I thought was the “heat” back then. The next good game I remember is Olympic Basketball for the Sega Master System. I played the heck out of these games, and then there was Lakers vs Celtics and NBA Jam. Onto some pretty decent Konami NBA titles and then NBA Live Series which peaked in 1999 with great competition from 2K Sports/Sega. Lately I have been playing the Choops Series from 2K Sports, which is a great series but does not have the “authentic and organic” feel of NBA 2K11.That said, these were all just building blocks on the way up to the “pinnacle” of video game hoops that is NBA 2K11. This game has every simulation mode that I can imagine. My Player is great (other than starting at a 40 rating), I haven’t finished all of the Jordan Challenges yet but they are a blast and I look forward to playing the Jordan My Player mode. Franchise is fantastic, there are alot of Great NBA Players right now, so the only negative about this mode is trying to pick your team. Players DO play like their real-life counterparts, more so than any other game since Lakers vs Celtics and Bulls vs Blazers.Presentation, Graphics, Gameplay are far superior to any other Sports Video Game and definitely “The Greatest” basketball videogame of all time. The only thing holding me back from playing this game 6 hours per day, is having a family.

nothing has been as good since this year, because they (2k) started f’ing around with the controller layout. so i will only play this and nothing else. even though i have ps4 and xbox one and wii u. I’ll play xbox 360 2k11 any time someone wants to play basketball video game. bottom line.
