Never thought I’d love this version of the game nearly as much as the original, but guess what?? I DID!! If you loved the original as a kid as much as I did, GET THIS NOW!! Hours of fun!!

When we were dating I spent hours watching my husband play this game at the arcade. He has been having a great time playing! He enjoys all the features like shrinking yourself or having a big head, and the announcers comments are very funny. Overall this game was well worth the money!!!

For $20 or less, “NBA Jam” for the Wii is a great buy, but not as fun as “NBA Hang Time” (1997, N64). There’s no create-a-player or hotspots in “Jam” (which I’ll get to later), and my biggest pet peeve is how the game handles shoves. There are no injuries in “Jam,” which defeats the purpose of halftime substitutions and limits the use of a shove. You shove only to disrupt the action or get a cheesy steal, and you absolutely cannot use shove if the CPU/player is in any frame of a shooting or dunk animation, which differs from previous versions of the “Jam” line. “Jam” also incorporates the spin/crossover moves which were issued forth with “Hang Time,” and those moves let you avoid a shove entirely. In other words, playing against the AI at the highest difficult level is a real challenge. It’s a lot more fun to play against three humans after you get all the unlockables. The game offers fun arcade two-on-two action, four player support, and extra modes like a game of 21 in which four players can play against each other simultaneously (a great addition). Unfortunately, you can’t best opponents internationally, as there’s no Online play. If you can’t get a group of friends together then the replay value of Jam will quickly fade. There are a ton of unlockables to get you going–and the game tells you how to get most of them if you need help–but the extra modes generally fall short once the unlocking is done. The main mode, “Classic Campaign,” lets you pick a team and play th.

I bought this game for my fiance for his birthday. He was super excited to be able to play the game when he got it. He said it brought him back to when he was a kid and he use to play NBA Jams on his other game system. It is a lot of phone to play and has a lot of the older great NBA players and the new ones too!

This game takes me back in the days. Better graphics and fun controls with the Wii. It’s fun to see a bunch of grown men trash talking over a video game again.
