Generally, i didnt have any issues with the game other than the over abundance of block shots in the game. Not only the CPU but on my team as well. When i can get someone that has 15 blocks in a game something needs to be tweaked a bit. I enjoyed the other aspects of the game and the gameplay was solid for the most part. That was my main gripe with the game.

This is a great basketball. I’m already passed NBA Live 2006, but NBA Live 2005 is a classic I still play. There’s no real flaws in this game. If you have a dominate big man, then you will dominate the paint and have a good chance of scoring, if they double team, you can find open guys for shots. You have to have an offensive plan and know what kind of team you are. sloppy offense leads to steals and missed 3 pointers which lead to fast break points for the other team.NBA Live 2006, was no where near as good, that game was just all about dunking and the super powers of the players, the physicas are totally unrealistic. Any time you post up, it usually leads to you getting the ball stripped. For some reason teams have a very hard time getting defensive rebounds in this game. There’s nothing like getting a rare possesion where you actually play solid defense and force a missed shot, only to have the offensive player slam dunk it back in your face while the defensive player just stands there like an idiot, which happends almost every time.

This is a great basketball game for all you hardcore basketball fans. This is the only b-ball game that has the all-star weekend that includes: Rookies vs Sophmores, 3-point contest, Slam Dunk contest, and the All-Star Game. The 3-point contest is the best of all because it is challening with most of the players get into the low 20’s or the high 20’s and even some competitors get 30. Now to the gameplay. It is great with the computer challenging you almost everytime and shots aren’t easy to get when you face a man like Ben Wallace and Shaq. And in All-Star you have to watch out for being blocked a lot so you should set a lot of screens so you can get open shots. The Free-throw shooting is way easier on NBA Live than ESPN. You only have to look at the backboard and you will have a rectangle on top of the square in the of the backboard where you want to get it in the rectangle to make the free-throw. On ESPN you have to put the basketballs together and it is really difficult. The only gripe I have about this game is when you are wide open you will miss at least 30% of the time, but on ESPN when you are wide open you will make it about 95% of the time.Overall I think this is better than any other basketball game this year.

PS2 versions of NBA Live are better than their PS3 counterparts. This is one of those examples.

I have really enjoyed playing NBA Live 2005 ever since I have received it. I’ve probably played it for over 100 hours already, and I’ve enjoyed every second of it. The funny thing is, I don’t even like NBA basketball that much, but I am much more interested in it now.The computer AI is really amazing, I haven’t learned any cheats or plays that work all the time. I am challenged every time I play (I’m in All-Star mode now), which makes it VERY engaging. I’m sure the online play would be even more challenging.Learning the spin move is crucial to winning games at the All-Star level, where defense is a lot tougher.I have heard good things about the slam dunk contest, but haven’t figured it out yet.The current price is well worth the money. If you like basketball games, and don’t have this one, you should get it as soon as possible.

This was the best sports game ever when it was released. The dunks in this game are amazing. The dynasty mode is sensational. The freestyle innovations are great. The dribble styles are neat. The competion modes can vary as much as you want them to. This can be as easy or as hard as you want it to be. You get to choose between five difficulties of playing. You can change the abilities of each player in around twenty areas. There are settings for you to change how hard or easy it is for you and the opponent, seperately, to shoot the ball as well as do just about everything else. You can customize current players or make your own made up player that is good or not so good. Created players can be anywhere from five foot tall and one hundred twenty pounds to seven foot six inches tall and three hundred fifty pounds. You can do almost anything involving NBA basketball in this game.

I got this game on the 19th of December. It is soooooooo cool!I like da Dunk Contest. Exept I never seem to win. The Slam Dunk Showdown is cool to. You go against someone and do a bunch of cool dunks. You should really get this game if you like NBA Live games.

This is a summary and my opinion of this game.1. All-Star Weekend can be played in its entirety. The rookie game is fun, lots of freelance hoops. The dunk contest is hard to get used to, but there is a practice section in the game. This is a fun addition to the middle of the season and is very worthwhile to add.2. Dynasty: Been revamped to be more like Madden. I especially like the rookie scouting on this. While not as comprehensive, it is an improvement. The only flaw I see is the PDA on trades. It is fun to see power rankings, e-mails, etc., but why do you have to wait for a response? Seems unnecessary.3. The gameplay is improved. The graphics are tighter, and facial features can be made out. The “EA hands” are still there. The excessive bumping from last year is out of the game, but you need to adjust the foul settings to your liking. Also, there is some more realism involved. A player on the break will NOT get caught this year. Tony Parker will never get caught by Oostertag on the break like in 2004. I played, and he blew by Kirk Hinrich for an open layup. The quickness differential is emphasized more. Post moves are more difficult, because for some reason you can’t zoom in as far, or else it could be just that the players are smaller. But, can’t have everyting.Summary: This is an improvement over previous versions of the game. I think the PDA thing should get fixed, it’s a pain, but the rest lives up to NBA Live’s high standards
