I really enjoy racing games…especially ones where it feels like you are driving fast.This game definitely delivers on that.The game is basically broken up between two segments. The first is “The Run” which is a great collection of 26 race events strung together by a storyline you play through with beautiful 3D comic book cut scenes interspersed between the race events. The developers did a pretty good job in changing up the objectives for each of these courses, as you regularly switch between flat out racing to pass as many cars as possible, avoiding gunfire from police helicopters or mafia henchmen, avoiding avoid cops and taking out other cars by ramming them. The main down side to this part of the game however was that it felt too short. I completed it in a little over 5 hours. To be honest, a big part of the frustration with it’s length was due to the fact that I was enjoying it so much, I really didn’t want it to end. For the most part this section of the game was a straight play-through. There were some levels where I failed the objective and had to try 2-3x, so I went back into the menu and adjusted the difficulty level for that one segement. In some instances changing the difficulty level actually didn’t seem to make a difference in the area I was actually struggling with.The second segment of the game is called “The Challenge” and consists of 5 classes of events (from beginner to master) and each class has what seemed like 6-8 courses each. Good game,my grandson loved the challenges and graphics with his Nintendo 3DS.This game keeps him playing and playing.He wants to drive my Mustang GT and I refuse due to his Need For Speed.
