Totally surprised by this. Story has typical anime elements and displays them in a good way to make the show enjoyable.
Michael Monetti –
This was truly a favorite show of mine before seeing this prequel movie. After seeing the similarities between characters of the no game no life anime (season 1) and the protagonists of this movie, it will be more meaningful to the viewer in my opinion. This movie can also be watched before the anime of course. If you decide to watch the no game no life anime after this, you will see how the anime plays into this great story and gives a followup to the protagonists.

I love the no game no life anime, and i was hesitant to watch this because i figured it would really ruin it, but this movie is so unbelievably good. It hurts my heart and play with my emotions more than I’ve had out of any Hollywood movie in a long long time. This is a much watch. Please bring us a the season two of the anime now, if it stay as good as it was and as good as this movie was, it will go down in history of anime.

I enjoyed the show enough to warrant watching this prequel and boy, was this what I needed. While the show had its humor, enjoyable characters and joyful color pallet, Zero gave us the world building we were looking for. Along with developing how the world came to be, we were given a tragic and captivating story of humanity as underdogs. I would highly recommend.

I have been longing for a continuation since watching the series, this movie did not disappoint. I highly recommend watching Season 1 before watching this, but it is not entirely necessary; you will just miss some “hat tips” to the series. It keeps you guessing what exactly what will happen next even though this is a prequel to the show.
Christian Parker –
You should already know of this series, but if you didn’t know it is fantastic! The blu ray menu is done extremely well, one of the best ones I’ve seen. I already owned the digital copy on ITunes, but I wanted a physical copy. It is definitely worth buying!

I have no neg view on this Anime. It was very well done.
Chad A Gunn –
Loved everything about the series: art, story, & humor. This movie lives up to everything I loved about the series. Absolutely looking forward to the stories continuation.

So, this is in its own way an anti-war tale. They’ve been told many times in many different media. The visuals are pretty. There is not a tremendous amount of fighting. I do like that it included many races and humans weren’t at the center of world events. It may be because I’ve seen too much anime but several of the themes seemed recycled though put together nicely.I watched it straight through with no breaks so I must say the pace was decent enough to keep me interested. The movie feels like it is picking up on a long running story we don’t know much about. I can only guess there was some series in comic or animated form that this was a tribute to. In any event a tad more exposition would not have hurt for helping the audience out with the story. All in all it was not bad. It wasn’t too environmentally heavy handed no even politically. The central theme that a crafty player can shape global politics is not a terrible lesson. With just a little polish this could be a real gem.

A lot going on and while it is an interesting prequel to the no game, no life tv series, I am not sure that you would watch it before the series itself, since it makes a lot of references to the characters in the tv series and supplies world building back stories for them.As a stand alone movie it leaves a lot of questions unanswered, and given the run time, I understand why they chose this route.Somewhat depressing in content,Overall a good watch
