I know I’m repeating a few things already said. But just to be clear, if you’re looking for an arcade experience with 99 missiles and the same for other ordinance, unlimited fuel and 20mm cannon, (This is not you’re game!) I’m definitely NOT knocking those types of games, (Ace Combat Series, H.A.W.X. etc.) They are fun, full of graphics and action! That being said, they are just that, Arcade Games and just like any game, they have they’re niche. Over G Fighters is also a game but not in the arcade sense. You can stall out. You can bleed off speed/energy. You can’t smack the ground and loose a little health. You can only carry a certain type of ordinance on a certain type of aircraft in limited numbers. Fuel runs out. Weapons launch and/or drop and are gone until you return to base to rearm and refuel. And while not being like Air Combat Simulators on the P.C., (No pre-flight checks, engine start-ups.), it is much closer to a Simulator than an Arcade type game!Sorry about being long winded but I just feel this is one of those really misunderstood gems that gets lumped into the wrong category and then is perceived as "Lacking"!It is anything but lacking!!!

If you like flight sims, and are willig to put in the time, this is a great game.Forget the novice mode, as others have stated.Go for normal or advanced. Landing is tough, carrier landing more so.you have to reload, you run out of fuel etc.sometimes the missiles are too easy ( fire and forget ), sometimes they are hard. Its a great flight sim, I like it so much , until this gets into xbox 1 , I won;t upgrade.

I have played Over G Fighters and it isn’t the best combat flight sim that I have played. The controls are not as good as Ace Combat or Blazing Angels. The controls really are HORRIBLE if you try to fly in arcade mode. I couldn’t get the any of the planes to even do a roll with Arcade controls. However when I switched over to Realistic controls the game play, especially the controls became actually fun. It isn’t a serious contender in the “Flight SIM” catagory but it is fun to fly play with. I would look for a used version as it should of been a $39 dollar game not a $59 dollar game. I’ll keep playing it to finish it but it isn’t even close to my top ten favorite games.

I admit, when I first played the game, I though it sucked. Then I kept playing, online play is incredible. The graphics are awesome and the detail is incredible. Anybody that gives this under a 4 star was expecting crap like Ace Combat. This is too realistic for that. No aircraft in existance can hold 60+ missiles. If you want real, this is the game.

Shipping package good and disc is good quality. Did not ship in original CD/disc case no cover. Just plain white case no booklet. But game is dated so it is ok for me.

This is an incredible game. Wait…Game? No, no, no. More like a simulator. This game definitely seems “Arcadey” but it’s not. It isn’t fun either. (This is where you keep reading, because I know most of you think that’s enough.)But it is an incredible g-…Simulator. Even though it’s not fun, it just sucks you into it’s intense realism. I mean, there isn’t even any background music when you fly! If you pull to many G’s you black out. If you get shot once or twice, your dead. The graphics, at least on the planes, are AMAZING. You don’t get 250 missiles either. You get what your plane can carry. You can choose what you carry though. You can choose long-range AtA missiles, Short-range AtG missiles, Unguided Bombs, Guided cluster bombs, all that cool stuff. You can even choose how much fuel you carry, and to have an external fuel tank or not. You can have assists beyond compare, or do everything manually. Carrier take offs and landings. Extremely long flight time, before you even find an enemy, everything. This is 100% SIM! Well, except for the anime-style characters…But still. Also, you CANNOT compare this game to Ace Combat, or TC’s H.A.W.X. Those are Arcade games, and this is an Honest to Goodness Simulator. Don’t pay any attention to reviews that compare this to those games.Pros: Listed aboveCons: Anime-style charactersRecommended to any sim fans.

And I mean that in a good way. This is the most authentic piloting experience that you can get on the Xbox 360 without actually being a pilot! Make sure to take the controls off of basic as this dramatically changes the gameplay. The menus are horrendous and the cut scenes are a joke… This game shines in the game play and in the detail of the terrain. The first few missions may seem boring, but stick with it. Missile evasion is the single hardest thing to master in this game. There is nothing more satisfying that evading a missile that was fired by your aggressor and then turning your nose toward him to shoot him down with your own AAMRAM or Sidewinder…

I haven’t found a combat flight sim (thats right, SIM) that so immersed me since Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe when I was a kid. Simply put, this game rules. The fact that so many people give this mediocre ratings makes me wonder what they actually know and understand about modern aerial warfare, and whether or not they are a casual gamer just looking for a quick “shoot em up” flight sim or something else. The aircraft all handle realistically, with player-controllable air brakes and realistically-simulated flight characteristics. You even black out if you pull too many sustained positive g’s and you red out if you pull too many negative g’s. Nice, thoughtful touch. One thing I love about this game is the obvious research that the developers put into getting the load-outs correct. Down to the pylon station that the weapons can be loaded on. You can even set how much fuel you are carrying on board and as your fuel levels drop, your wing-mounted fuel tanks will drop off during gameplay. My absolute favorite thing about this game is the combat. I have beaten the game on campaign mode to unlock different aircraft to fly for each mission, and I actually have more fun playing it in the customizable mode. You can customize every aspect of your engagement from your wingman, his (or her) aircraft and load-out… right on down to your opponent and their distance, altitude, and position at the outset of the engagement. The engagements themselves are outstanding. There are dif.

realistic military fighter game good planesand really cheap price

  10. The Black Metal Wolf

I bought this game on the day it came out in 2006, and I’m still popping in my 360 in 2014. It’s an indulgence for fighter jet fans as it offers something that other console flight games lack: realism. Thus, when it comes to Over G Fighters, you’re probably going to either love it or hate it, depending on who you are. If you’re looking for a game like Ace Combat, HAWX, or basically any other 360 flight game, you will be disappointed. Over G Fighters is a flight SIMULATOR, while the previously mentioned titles are really just flight games. The difference is that OGF goes for realism, and demands much more from the player than any other console based flight game I have yet to play, but more on that later. The selection of aircraft is definitely a nice spread, as it offers most current or recently in service US aircraft, in addition to some European and Asian jets such as MiG’s, the Su-27, and the Gripen. One plane left out that I wish was included was the F4 Phantom, but I guess you can’t have everything. The only problem with the aircraft selection is that since the game does not balance the performance of each plane to make them overall equally effective assuming each is in the right hands, a select few of the jets will become your go-to choice. For instance, the F/A-22 not only offers the largest potential payload of missiles and most speed and maneuverability of any plane in the game, it also comes with a missile jammer that makes enemy missile lock on to your plane almost i.
