Nintendo’s classic Paper Mario franchise gets a fresh 3D look in its hand-held debut! There’s trouble in the town of Decalbur, where the devious Bowser has disrupted the beloved Sticker Fest by causing the Sticker Comet to explode and in result, scattered the six Royal Stickers across the land. It’s up to Mario and his sticker fairy ally Kersti to recover them. New and experienced fans of the Paper Mario franchise will be able to navigate colorful 3D environments, but the game will still tailor to the gameplay from the original Paper Mario. Stickers are the backbone of Mario’s newest adventure in which players use stickers found in the game to not only win battles, but to solve puzzles as well.

This might be the best Paper Mario yet. There are stickers are located all over the place in game, some of them are weapons like jump shoes or hammers that you can use in battle, some are mushrooms you can use to heal yourself, and some are characters in the game that you have to peel to save. Very fun.

I was pretty sure I already wrote a review, but retrolio said I hadn’t yet, so… I’m rewriting it. It’s a very good game, and as someone that’s a big fan of the paper mario series, I was happy when I found out they were announcing a sequel. This game plays very much on the fact that they are made of paper, designing its in-game insults and remarks based on paper quality. I read a review saying that this is not the conventional RPG, and i would agree. Mario does not ever level up or upgrade, he simply finds and uses one-time items. There is an automatic required save after leaving any level you’ve entered, which takes awhile. It was okay in terms of funness. I had really wanted a “conventional” RPG, so I was slightly disappointed. Mostly, I think the fun lies in figuring out puzzles. I also completed the game feeling like I did it too quickly, but my total playtime went up to 26 hours and I reset the game during boss battles once or twice. I also haven’t completed about three or two “completion” parts, which I estimate might take up to around three or four hours of gameplay. The game is slow in general. The animation is slow and has a lot of unnecessary animation. This could be because I’m more used to fast paced games but seeing as how fighting is virtually pointless because of the lack of experience points given, it’d have been nice if the battles were shorter and had less animation time for “normal” battles. I feel like this game is designed more for the younger crowd. Possibl.

I love mario games and i love all the paper marios and own them all however this one pissed me off. I was on youtube more than i would like to admit. Some of the hidden doorways and items were too d**n hard to find and Some of the puzzles had me stumped. And when i say some i mean most and when i say most i mean d**n near all. Make sure you have internet and youtube before purchasing. :-)

This is definitely different than the previous Paper Mario titles. You don’t get partners for one, and you use stamps as your attacks, which can be very cumbersome later on. It’s quite aggravating and takes a bit to get used of, but it’s an interesting spin on Paper Mario. personally I don’t like it compared to the original paper mario or even thousand-year-door, but Nintendo did an interesting take on updating Paper Mario. it’s fun I guess if you want something different from the previous titles, but I personally would rather have the old battle system and RPG style gaming compared to this one.

I absolutely love the Paper Mario series, believing it to be one of Nintendo’s best works. Sticker Star returns the series back to its roots…sort of.The traditional rpg turn based battling is back, but with a twist. Mario must depend on stickers he collects throughout the world’s to attack. That means you must collect an abundance of hammers, jump stickers and all sorts of other stickers with different powers and abilities, which really adds a lot of depth to the game and a whole lot of strategy for each battle. Though I never actually ran out of stickers, so you are supplied with enough to not get stuck. You get a sticker book to keep all your stickers in which gets expanded throughout the game. The more powerful stickers take up more room, so you can actually stick the stickers in the best way possible on the pages to fit the most stickers. You can also use real life items like a fan or scissors that have humorous effects on your paper enemies. Boss fights are really fun as well. The most notable difference about this game compared to the first two in the series is there is now a world map similar to that in Super Mario Bros 3 & World. You have to beat each level to advance to the next one, but have to constantly revisit stages to solve puzzles and advance the story. Each World has about 6-10 stages and are filled with hidden goals and other secrets to unlock new paths. The difficulty of the game is just right, though I got stuck a lot. The puzzles in this game are very.

Reminds me of Super Mario RPG from SNES era.Humorous and light heartded and the 2D aspect just adds to the humor.Gameplay is smooth and just enough story to keep it interesting.Definite feeling of nostalgia for me, however I have not played the original Paper Mario game.Would recommend to anyone who liked the SNES Super Mario RPG, combat is similar and who doesn’t enjoy stomping those little Goombas into the ground?

I’ve played all of the Paper Mario series, definitely a fan. As a fan of the series, it does hurt me to say that this is the worst game in the series. But hear me out, it’s still a fun game worth playing. The writing is pretty funny at times. Obviously this game does not have an epic story, but it’s a typical "Mario must save the day". The dialogue is pretty good, found myself smiling while reading. The graphics are what you’d expect for a Paper Mario. The main downfall of the game for me is the battle system. Every move you do takes a sticker. Your character does not really progress or level up. Once in a while you find a HP up which increases HP 5 points. And once in awhile you get another page in the sticker album so you can carry more stickers. Mario never becomes more powerful, nor do the enemies. This hurts the game a bit, as it encourages you to avoid battles whenever possible. The only thing you get from battles is a bit of coins at the end. Also enemies line up in battle, you can not select which enemy you want to attack. You always attack the one in front. Even if you’re using more than one sticker it auto selects the first, second, and third enemy for you to attack. So there really isn’t much strategy involved besides picking stickers that you know are effective against certain enemy types. Overall this game is good, and I enjoyed playing through it. I would have probably given 5 stars if the battle system was thought out better. They simplified it too much.
